Its a disastrous start

Gor Mahia started the 2011 KPL season on a disastrous note when they went down 0-3 to a well drilled Posta Rangers side in a match played at Nyayo stadium on Saturday. The match was thoroughly and utterly dominated by Rangers, leaving Kogalo fans befuddled. “Where was the pre-season form” they asked. “Is this a team with several national team players” they asked. Tempers finally reached boiling point at minute 80 when a section of the fans invaded the pitch causing abandonment. Police responded with tear gas.

Zico shuld have made a proper fielding of new and old players. I didnt like the lineup from the goalkeeper to striking force. Let zico look for a way of pleasing us. The gate charger for our matches are very high compared to other matches, pls give us a high quality games as the charges.
Fanzone. Am a die hard Gor fan let the board look 4 a way of cooling the fans when we are down tuwache fujo haisaidi and give the team a bad image

ZEDDY SHOULD PACK AND GO.HE SHOULD COACH HARAMBEE STARS WHICH EPITOMISES HIS MEDIOCRE TACTICS.THE FOOL CANNOT FIELD OUR MOST CREATIVE PLAYER-KITAWI.HE CANNOT READ THE GAME IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES.WE THE FANS KNOW THAT IF WE WIN THE LEAGUE WE WILL MEET THE BEST IN THE CONTINENT BUT IT IS APPARENT THAT WITH ZEDDY EVEN FINISHING IN THE TOP FIVE IS A PIPE DREAM.TO CALL HIM ZICO IS AN INSULT TO THE LEGEND.HOW CAN U FIELD THE OUT OF SORTS DENNIS `WISE` IN PLACE OF THE MAESTRO KITAWI.WE WERE LUCKY TO WIN MOST OF OUR MATCHES WITH PENALTIES LAST SEASON BUT WITH THAT IDIOT AS THE COACH GOR WILL SOON BE PLAYING IN EMPTY STADIUMS AS HAPPENED DURING OKULS TENURE.KITAWI IS ONE OF THE MOST CREATIVE MIDFIELDER IN OUR LEAGUE.ONLY A MAD COACH CAN DROP HIM.JUST ASK DUNGA WHAT TRANSPIRED DOWN SOUTH WHEN HE DROPPED RONALDINHO.IF ZEDDY WANTS DISCIPLINED PLAYERS LET HIM COACH ULINZI.HE COMES UP WITH STONE AGE TACTICS BUT WHEN PLAYERS QUESTION HIM HE BENCHS THEM FOR INDISCIPLINE.IT IS APPARENT THAT ZEDDY CANNOT TAKE US TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND IF HE STAYS THEN EXPECT MORE CHAOS AS GOR FANS HAVE CANNOT AND WILL NOT ENTERTAIN MEDIOCRITY AND LAME EXCUSES.ZEDDY SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED YESTERDAY.

anyuola, you have hit the point on the head.kitawi must be brought back to the engine room.zeddy is just like a dead battery which we can get rid of and we the fans-movement ,will still push the team forward.Wang`ni we either win all our matches or they will all end in running battles -with the fans in hot pursuit of the coach.

we need a creative midfielder-kitawi.the coach should also introduce new players slowly to the team as the league is competitive.our defending in set pieces is also wanting and wekesa and jakambare should be brought back to solidify it.

A RUDE AWAKENING.WE NEED OUR BEST FOR THE TITLE.KITAWI SHOULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE ENGINE ROOM TO MOVE US FORWARD.LOSING TO RANGERS SHOULD OPEN THE COACHES EYES TO THE NEED OF RESOLVING HIS DIFFERENCES WITH OUR BEST PLAYERS .THE LEAGUE IS MEANT FOR MEN NOT BOYS.

PLEASE THE EALIER THE BETTER.WE DONT NEED HIM ANYMORE OR ELSE WE WILL NOT BE COMING TO STADIUM AND STARE DEFEAT TO UNKNOWN TEAMS.

Wuon Pap, all that insult is not necessary.Constructive criticism is the way forward. Things were bad on Saturday, and that brought out the bad side of the coach. He did not seem to have anticipated that the Rangers team would have Joseph Nyaga, Kevin Ochieng the never aging Pascal, and Edward Kauka. Those are players a good coach must provide a proper antidote for. Zico didn’t and that was it , a thorough thwak. To fans of Kogalo, BURE KABISA, you do not do that kind of thing in an internationally relayed match even if you are trailing by how many goals. Very big teams get beaten not once but severally but they go away humbly to fight another day. Some of you do not quite undestand the meaning of fair competition. IT WAS STUPID AND WHEN I THOUGHT WE HAD LEFT ALL THAT BEHIND.Our wives ,mothers, sisters and young kids were starting to love coming to the stadia to watch local football AND NOW THIS. I am a true supporter of Kogalo but I shudder to think of what Moni Wekesa committee will mete out this time.LEARN YOU FANS, PLEASE LEARN AND CHANGE, WE WANT TO WATCH OUR LOVED TEAM IN PEACE. For coach what will you give in your next game if we are not banned totally?

Our coach Zico does not understand the basics of football. What a hell on earth do you field all five new faces. Where was Colo and Kevo not started the match? Where is Owiti, Kitawi, Makori, Ivan, Wekesa etc? Zico must stop victimising our key players for his friends. Why is Wycliffe being fielded? The lad cannot even run with the ball. Dennise Wise was a wrong recruitment of the year. All new players should have started as subs but not outright fielding. Zico, I can assure you that your days are numbered in Gor. The faster you improve, the better your chances of staying in Gor will be enhanced. The line-up should have been:-
Jerim, Wekesa, Nasio, Masika, Mohamed, Ivan, Teddy, Colo, Kevo, Odera, Makori
Subs: Moses, Owiti, Lavasta, Okal, Kaguzi
Substitutions: Moses should have replaced Kevo, Owiti for Makori and Lavasta for Odera.

WUON PAP IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT WE GOR FANS PROUDLY SUPPORT OUR TEAM LIKE NO OTHER FANS IN THE LEAGUE,DO YOU KNOW HOW PROUD WE ARE TO WEAR OUR TEAM JERSEY. DID YOU SEE THE FANS TRYING TO EGDE ON THE TEAM EVEN WHEN 2-0 DOWN BY BELTING OUT OUR GOR ANTHEM BUT THE TEAM AND COACH WERE CLUELESS IN THEIR RESPONSE. ZEDDY AND THE TEAM IF YOU CAN’T DELIVER THE TITLE THEN LET’S PART NOW.WE WANT TO WIN ANOTHER CONTINENTAL TITLE IN 2012 LET ALONE THIS NONSENSE OF BEING SATISFIED WITH 2ND POSITION IN KPL. YES BAYERN AND ARSENAL LOST BUT AT LEAST THEY PUT UP A FIGHT THE GOR OF SATO DID NOT ONLY LOSE BUT PLAYED A USELESS GAME WHICH IS WHAT REALLY HURT THE FANS AND REALLY MAKES ME DOUBT THE TECHNICAL ARM.

Ja Thur gi ji, I like the soberness you potray while contributing to this forum. Acts of hooliganism MUST NOT be entertained no matter what. In the spirit of competition, Kogallo fan must be ready to accept defeat. What will happen to the teams Gor will beat in this league, will they also be invading the pitch and disrupt matches. It was really shameful to watch on an international channel hooligans messing up like that. I doubt if those are ready serious Gor fans. Police should arrest the fans who invaded the pitch and have them charged according to the law. TV recordings are there. Lets get rid of such impunity. It should not go unpunished.

The kind of nepotism taking root in the club will lead to its downfall. Gor had the best talent in attendance during the recruitment drive from 4th January, they all turned up for trials but in the end, the coach and the technical team resorted to favoritism, even going as far as chasing away exceptional talent in the name of coming from a certain part of Nyanza which they don’t recognize has footballers.

if they picked the boys on merit, we could be singing a different song. I wish Obondo can persuade the coach to be logical in his recruitment, the era of my relative, friend or kitu kidogo is long gone

  • Maybe this (loss) is good. We do not want too much ego around. Lets treat each team with respect and prepare accordingly, field the best players, be tactical and always go for a win. As good as the team (GOR) can be they/we need to be humble about it. lets cheer as loud as we can but with respect. Long live KOGALO

@ jamigori, Please expound on what u mean by players from another part of Nyanza not recognized as footballers I would like to follow up on this. If there were any bribery claims or favoritism please bring forth the evidence. To comment on the loss, The coach did not prepare the players well for this match both tactically and psychologically. The first match of the season is always the hardest coz all the teams are at their best and more often than not the score is always a draw or a 1 zero loss. For Odera to b effective in Gor’s style of play he needs to used as a decoy in the attack, Moses needs to release the ball as quickly as possible. The defense need a talk down and be asked who is paying them to spoil our good name? their performance was completely horrendous.

HE SHOULD NOT BRING HARAMBEE STARS FAILURE IN GOR..ITS HIGH TIME HE LEARNS THAT GOR IKO NA WENYEWE!

  • I am an ardent fan and not a hooligan. I will never, ever cast a stone or injure another unless in self defence. That said, I would watch if (God forbid) our hooligans get to Zedekiah. I would watch because he’d have brought it on himself. I would likewise watch if (God forbid) the whole of the management team got a healthy serving of our hooligans wrath. Our hooligans are here to stay until and unless the issues are addressed. Management has to respond to the challenges encumbering the technical bench, alleged tribalism in fielding players, fund raising (gate collection and merchandise) for running the club, and the fans’ grievances. But all said we should all remain positive and ba a part of the solution. Is GM management listening? I think not.

  • It is high time Kogallo supporters learn to take a loss for what it is; you cannot plant beans and expect to get maize. When choosing the players it should be a mix of youth and experience, the current team is basically what I have described. Building a team takes time and patience, the is the issue of discipline. If a coach decides to bench one or let a player go, definitely he has his reason for doing so. Some of our Kenyan fans have not played serious soccer so I will for give them for this. Imagine letting someone like Etoo, Adebayor, Kole Toure or Christiano Ronaldo go. In short a team is not build by individuals but team work. Last season Gor performed well and all were flabbergasted, come this year we loose our opening match and everybody wants the coach to go. Give me a break what will you say for yesterdays match that Gor beat Ulinzi 1-0. Do they still want him to go? Let us know that it is the responsibility of all the fans, players, management to make a successful team. Let us all play our part, it does not matter where a player hails from, the most important thing is that he is a good player and has what it takes. Stop the shenanigans of region as it will not lead as anywhere. For those who watched Kogallo ya 1987 know that it is team work and we care less where you hail from. That is where Europe is today, otherwise, Mariga hangeweza in the 80s. Long live Kogallo
