Its all about the mashemeji derby now

With Gor Mahia’s hopes of retaining the KPL title for a record fourth time having been significantly dimmed on Wednesday, attention will now shift to the Sunday encounter between the arch rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards on Sunday.

This derby is important for Gor Mahia fans as they have not actually beaten Ingwe since Logarusic left. Last season Gor Mahia were likely on their way to defeating AFC in the second leg. Gor Mahia were awarded a penalty. As Meddie Kagere stepped forward to take the kick, Ingwe fans disrupted the match by pelting the goalmouth area with stones. The match was abandoned and Gor Mahia awarded the match 2-0.

And this year the match occurred just as Gor Mahia were in a significant dip in form. AFC won 1-0. It is for this reasons that the derby will be important for Kogalo fans. Coach Ze Maria who is coaching in his first derby will have been told about the significance of this match. AFC for their part aare buoyed by the arrival of a new coach in Stewart Hall.

Kickoff: Sunday 23-October-2016 15:00 at Nyayo Stadium

This is the most irrelevant derby game in kogalo’s history. Nothing to play for other than pride and top 8 finish for both clubs.

Secondly, Somebody must remind ze maria trophies are won by wins and goals in Kenya NOT draws otherwise he will be the most trophyless coach in club’s history.

Lastly, the club has been reduced to draw specialists and I see another draw at best this Sunday, at worst, its kichapo.

Yes , irrelevant and absurd, even if Gor wins i am seeing 6 points deduction from last weekends hooliganism.
That’s the scenario bwana, tuko mbaya sana.

@Jamriambo, aren’t those two different competitions. How can fracas during an AFCON match result in points deduction in a World Cup qualifier? I think we will be fined and maybe suspended from next year’s Top8. The rest will mean the team will be maliciously extending their mandate. I hope I am right.

As for the derby I have a hunch that it will be one of the best matches this season devoid of the pressures on our end. Of course Shemejis will want to get out of the relegation zone

The law is always used against Gor, it’s always bent to go against Gor, different tournaments all organized by KPL…remember we lost the breweries match, bot points docked, despite not being the hosts and were heavily fined. The stream is against us, just as we are also against ourselves by perpetrating hooliganism.

How is this paperless ticketing going to work….just asking since i am not going to Nyayo. My cow has fallen in a ditch jokama!!!!!

haha musymo you are escaping heartbreaks & pressure..issorait…This paperlesss ticketing is the worst idea since hooligans in their true from will show up with mirrored m-pesa msg’s typed from their own phones as confirmation texts and demand entry into the stadium in the disguise of ”Tumelipa, siwezi kupoteza Pesa Yangu”

I have also been wondering how this paperless entry works. We were just given details on how to pay but never told how we will gain entry.
Our shemejis are also trying to capitalize on numbers by increasing the gate charges to raise their gate takings.I hope there will be no apathy and fans will turn out in large numbers though i have this feeling that this could be the lowest derby attendance ever….i could be wrong though!!

Oswozo after paying via the m-pesa paybill no for either the terraces or Vip stands, one will get a confirmation of payment msg/text from the paybill guys, that is the msg you will show the stewards manning the gates on your own phone to gain entry into the stadium. Hence my concern of people typing the msg’s themselves with the supposed code number and causing hullabaloo at the gates demanding entry…More like the fake m-pesa msg’s we get everyday claiming you’ve won only the sender ain’t M-Pesa

The idea of pay by m-pesa is good but it has come at the wrong time. I also think that raising the entry amount to Ksh.1000.00 and Ksh300.00 respectively is also ill timed. Both teams are not doing very well. One time is struggling to go up and salvage some pride while another just cannot believe that the Championship titles are getting away and to very unfamiliar situation.Back to the ticketing, I think this should have been tried with the smaller games than this one . The bragging rights can also be motivating factor because it touches on one’s ego. No body wants their ego to be deemed as week and irrelevant as such people might just come out in large numbers and this might just be the impediment to the application of the m-pesa. I am also trying to picture people pulling out their mobile phones to show messages, is safety guaranteed? as some one has already said, what about the possibility of typed messages, will there be time to confirm with the tendency of people coming at the eleventh hr? I am just thinking….

This is one match I don’t want to miss. It’s a good platform for Marcel and No ndiritu to show that they can play at the big stage. My concern is entry. What If goons start going for people’s phones. We need to go back to basics. Instead of forged tickets we will get forged messages causing a gridlock at the gates

  • Oooh, I fear making long, scrambling queues with my phone in my hands ready to show a text. Things can happen.. 1. they will push me and stampede my phone to crushes. 2. they can confiscate my phone a disappear with it. 3.thieves can disguise as stewards only to get hold of an expensive phone and roughly take it away. I say no to the idea.

Dear colleagues we are still in with a chance to win the league this year. Beat shemeji , beat muhoroni draw with Mathare and beat Tusker. Tusker draw with City, lose to Sony, shemeji and kogalo. Watch this space, the turning point is tomorrow, “Mahia” is the team that will turn up.

@Ja Thur Gi Ji, good spirit. It is not over until its over. In football anything can happen. Gor still has a chance just like Tusker, to clinch the title. This is what I consider, entertainment. Let it go to the wire. To mitna mitna mitna
I am never worried about nothing in Gor Mahia. For God and my beloved club – Kogallo

Didn’t I say it, that’s it I was very happy how our boys played today. My worry now is Ingwe/Tusker, but Ingwe has to survive so they must beat Tusker. Sony definitely will, watch this space.

  • Please review Jakoyo’s comments above! How could he say the Darby would be the most irrelevant.. yet gor are chasing a title and for tusker, anything is possible in a game of football??!! tusker can lose points and you have seen for yourself and gor gain. So Mr jakoyo and the co. now you have seen that the Darby was the most relevant for mahia?? Pliz if we are real fans of kogallo then let us watch out for retrogressive comments and cheer the team till the last match. We have so many hypocrisy here.

  • Hope you see in Europe, for instant, England. The fans even clap for player after they lose even by hyper margins. Can’t we emulate them??!! Those who comment here by writing gor mahia off for title defence might have the lightest fat when gor beat tusker in the last match and retains kpl glory record 4th time in a row. Kogallo mayienga!!!!
