K’Ogalo captain believes the team has the best chance of clinching this year’s league crown after a good start that puts them second in the table standings

By Otieno Otieno in KITWE, Zambia

Gor Mahia captain Jerim Onyango has pointed out that the team has the best chance to win the Kenyan Premier League title this season after a good start that puts them in second spot in the standings.

Onyango says this is the best chance the club has of winning the league after two failed attempts.

“As a captain, I would say that this is the best chance we have of winning the league after we failed on two previous occasions and there is everything to support our bid.

“Since joining Gor we have never had such a start and always have to come from behind. This year we look very strong and with the coming of a new coach, it does not get better than this,” he told Goal in Kitwe, Zambia on Thursday.

Onyango added that the team is excited to have former Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson.

“He (Williamson) has a lot of experience having handled a national team before and we all look up to him to transfer that experience to the team and we hope this can translate to good results for the club.”

Gor Mahia will go top of the premiership if they beat Chemelil Sugar in a mid-week fixture at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday. Tusker will also take on Mathare United the same day at City Stadium.

Congrats Jerry if you keep a clean sheet then we all call it a day. In my view last year was our best in the last one and a half decade, it still hurts but that is now history. As the team captain inspire the boys fans are forever behind you.

I wish the fans would desist from the chants of “GINI WASEKWO”. If only they would remember the two scenarios of Thka last year and this year’s elections they should have learnt a lesson and keep their thoughts to themselves and support the team both physically and finacially

I support the sentiments expressed my two colleagues Dan original and Ogango trailer,it might affect us at the end of the season.Lets keep a positive attitude and avoid overconfidence.Remember efusi last year at one point in the league they had the same attitude.we all know where what happened to them.Lets take one match at a time.GINI WASEKAO is not a good thing to chant at tis critical point in time.

GINI WASEKWO?????…You people you are not being fair to the non Luos IN THE TEAM! You are abusing IRAVATSA, WANYONYI and WEKESA!!! Of all the players who have dedicated their time and energy to this team all this years not forgetting last year when you were beaten by THIKA until you cried aloud with your big mouths one would think you were children ignored by their Mothers!! That is very unfair to players like Kiongera and Mutiso and God should just forgive you all!!!!

Guys, on paper Ingwe are more prepared to assault the second leg than any other team in the league today. But as I said that is just on paper as on the field things can be different. In that case we have to be at our best to beat all the top first teams to the tape. As far as I know we can and i believe we will

  • A little caution is not bad but that does not diminish the fact that GM is in pole position & luckily we’ve found an able replacement for ex-coach Logarusic in B.W
    .
Threats to this goal remain lack of structures at the club particularly so close to elections especially with the various competing interests. Its depressing to hear (as per radio Jambo) that current “executive community” still pays players using cash in envelopes (not through bank accounts), not 2 mention lack of medical cover etc

INGWE is the only team in East and Central Africa that has secured a full insurance cover for its playing unit so do not do things just because AFC LEOPARDS SC OF KENYA(who developed BIG VIC WANYAMA of SOUTHAMPTON FC in EPL) are doing it. INGWE has money, real MANGO’NDO (Mumias Sugar,ZUKU, SOUTHAMPTON SOLIDARITY CONTRIBUTION, ETC ETC and with cash you can do anything in this world (Fliying players to the way matches by KQ): Case in point is the acquisition of PINCHEZ…between INGWE and GOR MAHIA who won at the end of the day?????I do not need your answer!!

  • @11 I thought I am the only person who can blog that, kumbe hata kwenu wapo!! To your attention most fans 78%,to estimate,do not know about the league titles and trophies but 100% of fans for both Ingwe and Kogalo knows when the derby is played. And the winners carry the day!Confirm that from the gate collections.
