Kogalo face Ingwe in rematch

Having beaten Finlays in the FKL cup quarter finals, Gor Mahia will now face arch rivals AFC Leopards in a rematch coming only 2 weeks after Kogalo were unceremoniously dismissed by their erstwhile rivals.

This rematch appears not to be coming at a good time for the club. It is not known whether the issues that have been bedeviling the club recently have been addressed. The club officials have not taken any concrete action. Coach Zico has had almost no time to rectify any mistakes that were made during the match two weeks ago as he has been busy with the national team. Meanwhile the club brass like Nick Arumm claim that the key problem is that Coach Zico has had to divide his time between the national team and the club. But this does not explain the lacklusture performance by the players who simply have not shown up to play in the last few games. It is still not clear why the players have lost motivation.

Still Kogalo fans will be hoping that the playing unit can play with some pride this time and put on a better performance. In particular the defence which has been porous in the last 3 games really needs to shape up.

  • Let’s dwell on the positive side of issues instead of the negatives which will dampen the spirits of everyone, both the players and the fans. After all, some of us said that the deputy is able (after the TZ friendly) then let’s soldier on though ZD would certainly assist with his experience. The time we have is too short to make some of the changes we need so we have to make do with what we have and hope that God will be on our side.

Comrade JB. I am suprised by your sudden change of heart. At one time, you are proud to be associated with the green army, paid money to watch the mighty K’Ogalo, won their jersey and even sung the anthem several times. You are either a travelling fan or belong to one of the branches.

So, what makes you change your heart at the when the club need you most?

I thought you’ve even sworn to be K’Ogalo ‘damu’. Winners never quit but qitters never win. The decision to stay away from the remaining fixtures does augur well with our collective plan to increase the fanbase to include all the parts of the country and cts
    cuts across class and tribes.

Elsewhere on this blog, i told my own story of how the K’Ogalo bug caught. I want to remain a loyal supporter of this club for life. The club itself is now attracting fans from the width and breath of this nation. The single most factor endearing many of us is the vibrancy and progressiveness of it’s leadership. I also share your concerns but I don’t believe the only way to solve our problems is through bashing and character assasination. t
This club have got well established structures to share your concerns. The leadership of the club deserve some measure of respect. I once again urge to consider your stand and come and let us cheer our great team as they head to the final stretch of the 2010 KPL.

Guys please read N Musonye’s analysis of H.Stars, lol he might as well been talking of GM.(players not being able to hold ball possession for even a minute/ string 5 passes btw them) Gorfc.com reports that non other than the GM treasurer himself says GM is broke.
The rumour mills have it that “Wang’e tek” wanted to claim the 2m offered by prezzo and 4m offered by RAO for a H.Stars win in Kampala, since according to him when you draw 0-0 you’ve played well and playing well is equal to winning. Also for him a 1-0 loss away is not bad hence is the equivalent of a draw. Little did he know that RAO(as all GM fans know) had advised Prezzo to pledge the money as a publicity gimick since K’galo and H.Stars rarely ever win under Ziko so their money was VERY SAFE.

  • Personality bashing has never built a club. We are the same people complaining that the other group has no agenda for the country but bashing one individual and stopping him. Let’s not take our eyes from the gazelle and focus on the rabbit. We have six matches to defend our pride as well as another derby on the 20th Oct yet we are using so much energy on the negatives. Let’s use these resources to motivate our players, think of our brokeness and move on. After all we have kitu 2 months to make all these changes instead of burning the granary with the little food left in it.

    Reply
  • . . . . ..at times granary needs to be brought down or better still to be burnt! . . .for those who need changes Asap, it because they saw the problems early in the season! They even predicted on this site that the Mighty Mahia would end the season trophyless, . . ..true to their saying, it is about to happen! so to the guys who think otherwise, be warned! The season is coming to a close and the team is winning no trophy as we had said earlier, and therefore the changes should occur asap!. . ..we thank Zico for his unending hooliganism, . . . let a new tactician take over, . .. .let us not fear change. . . .coz change is as good as winning trophies can be.

Now lets be practical. Can the treasurer give us the deficit and as numerously suggested b4 open a GM Mpesa business account number so that we can help out. Remember even with the discrepancy btw attendance and the gate collections, the collections announced were more than enough to cater for the ‘fines'(AFC first leg match alone raised 5.6m for K’galo) which we are even sure have been paid. Some bloggers have been calling for financial accountability & transparency but they were told to shut up, now we see the results OUR BELOVED GM IS BROKE||||

  • PRESIDENT KIBAKI PLEDGE TO H/STARS: IS HONEST

    Comrade Odour12, Goodevening.
To insinuate that Rt. Hon. PM, RAO advised President Kibaki to pledge for H/stars because they could not win is not only outrageous but also disrespect of the two leaders.

To also claim that H/stars can never win with zico is a perception but not a fact. The past records will bear me out.

This is not a rumour cafe. The main objective of this blog is to update the fans on the news, fixtures, ranking and other pertinent matters. The site also let’s the fans to share their concerns and communicate with the officials.

    Reply
  • Dan. What people are talking about here are not negatives. These are real issues.

The 300 for terrace and 500 for main stand against AFC is an idea from thieves. If you have attended recent matches there, u must have seen what happens when the rain starts. Seriously if our office is real, is this the scenario they want on that day? Who can possibly think of squeezing Kogalo and Ingwe fans on such an occasion at City Stadium?

Surely with such decisions, these two clubs will still get broke. Have they thought of all the fans they are turning away? City Stadium attendance and collections can never be accounted for. That is the issue here.

  • Creative village. What I don’t understand is why we spend so much time on villifying the person of ZD. Surely a person can only take as much. Can’t we even recommend him for HS assistant coach as a Kogalo great? ZD will surely go but what arrangements do we have to make sure that we don’t get humiliated again. From this blog nobody is giving us that. What I’m saying is that let’s steady the ship till we reach the shore then we can do all the repairs we want. I’m sure we are more careful about our private lives than some of the suggestions we give here. I will also repeat here. Let’s go for institutional change instead of merely changing the office bearers. We did that in the country in 2002 but our problems and corruption persisted until we got a new constitution and hopefully things might change

Even big teams in Europe get defeated but they do not rush to kick out the coach. let us be slow to judge zico; he was delivering and suddenly something has gone wrong. Let him reflect and find out where the rain started beating him. for us fans let us give the coach some little time.

It’s a total contrast with some of our fans who threaten not to attend GM matches due to the issues that are arising. The challenge now is on us as bloggers to do likewise. Kudos to the branch

As much as Facebook has shown the way, I feel with these hard economic times the players are better rewarded financially for a win than air tickets. Players need something in their pockets after the hard fought match. Am not being negative but I think thats the basic need before air tickets. Afc tickets are catered for by Smart Tv and players motivation cash given by fans and their sponsor. They have more cash because they got two sponsors in Mumias and Smart tv. They have not been penalized like us. Again we need financial accountability so that when we give out to the club is all about philanthropy but not filling financial holes we don really understand.
    1. Sponsor cash
    2. Gate collections
    3. Funds from well wishers
    4. Kpl cash
    5. Replica dons cash
    6. Etc
Before we account for this our efforts are not sustainable.

  • FACEBOOK BRANCH: WELL DONE

I wish to congratulate K’Ogalo facebook branch for purchasing air tickets to all the players and officials who will going to Mombasa for another clash with Congo united.

The branch is leading all the branches in rallying financial and moral support to the club. Most of the time, K’Ogalo have attributed their poor show at the coast to fatigue due to long journey and inhospitable weather. I do hope that the officials will see these branches as strategic patners and not competitors.

To the newest baby of the K’Ogalo family-the bloggers branch, welcome. I only hope the new branch is a clear testimony that K’Ogalo is still growing. From Mandera to Lokichogio, Mombasa to Kisumu, let the ‘mahia’ be in every village of Kenya.

Lastly, to Wycliffe Ochomo who will be sitting for national secondary examinations, all the best. We are proud of you .
