Kogalo hold Karuturi

In a match played at the City stadium, Collins Okoth scored a dramatic equalizer in injury time to allow Gor Mahia to salvagae a point . Karurturi sportc slub had taken the lead in the 63rd minute when Jerim Onyango parried the ball into the path of a Karuturi player who duly scored from the rebound.

Once again it was Gor Mahia who created more chances. But Heavy rain just before the game made conditions difficult for both teams. As the second half wore on, Karuturi employed time wasting tactics. The crucial equalizer came via a Demonde Selenga cross which found Okoth at the far post. Okoth finished with a superb volley.

The draw leaves Gor Mahia in 2nd position with 35 points. After the match, the bitter Karuturi sport coach james Nandwa faulted the referee for adding toomuch injury time, claiming he was initimidated by Kogalo fans.

We should score goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, since we have the potential to do so. Fans are getting woried of wasting opportunity to take an early lead. Shiks jersy 13:

  • Lucky draw. The coach is still gambling with the team lineup. It appears that the coach has no glue of his starting line up and if this is not checked in advance will cost us the league.

ZEDDY HAS REACHED HIS PEAK WITH THIS SQUAD,ADD THIS TO THE FACT THAT HE DIVIDES HIS TIME BETWEEN GM AND THE NATIONAL TEAM AND THE RESULTS ARE PREDICTABLE.WE HAVE LOST 8 POINTS AGAINST TUSKER AND SHER OVER TWO LEGS.UP TO NOW WE DONT KNOW OUR FIRST ELEVEN.FOR THE BRIEF MOMENTS WHEN WE DECIDED TO PUT THE BALL DOWN THE GAME WAS ON OUR HANDS BUT WHEN WE RESORTED TO MBELE TACTICS THEN WE WERE LOSING.FROM MY OBSERVATIONS ZEDDY DOES NOT KNOW THE STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS OF HIS TEAM.MOSES ODHIAMBO-NO 30 SHOULD PLAY BEHIND OKOTH-GATTUSO,WITH GATTUSO PLAYING DIRECTLY BEHIND THE STRIKERS WE WILL ALWAYS GET THE EARLY GOAL WHICH IS CRUCIAL FOR SETTLING NERVES.

I think we are playing well with our 422 formation. moses is definitely faster and should play just behind the strikers more to the right with gatuso slightky behind and stringing passes to the strikers especially kevo, lavatsa and makori on the left flank. we should also introduce more of wing play to open up the opposing defences. however the league is competitive and will be won more on defensive formations and quick efficient counters…on another issue all the teams that are changing the home games to nrb must negotiate a % of revenue to gor…Bob

I blame Selenga Mangili,Dan Makori and Zedekiah Otieno for making us not win by a 3:0 Margin.I congratulate James Nandwa for reading the game very well, and the pep talk over the break showed that he is ahead of Zico.We don’t have to miss 10 chances in order to score one goal.Where i was seated,my instincts told me that after missing all the open chances in the first half, the second half will be different,no wonder i was not surprised when Karuturi scored.
Zico, whatever formation you employ in the team, kindly note that if we don’t win this year’s league the most Honorable thing for you to do is to pack and go.You have quality players in the squad. We need a coach who can instill that self belief and mental character required to come back from a goal down. You have done well to bring Kevin Ochieng and Moses Otieno, their link up play was good but where is my Kiplagat and my Macheda? those two boys can change a game in an instant? why under utilize Kevin Omondi by bringing him in the second half always? cant we wrap up our games in the first half like before? i was so mad yesterday and actually didn’t celebrate the goal we scored,i felt we deserved to be defeated yesterday. At the moment,Mwachoki is better than Makori,Dennis Wise should be returned from where he came from and for once you need give rasta man a chance.I feel like the Older Assistant coach should take over as coach and Zeddy should focus full time as Harambee Stars Coach.Today am praying that Ulinzi and Rangers loose or draw and Tusker looses tomorrow. Both Selenga and Makori should be introduced in the second half until they find the right scoring boots.Look at Karuturi, they had less than five opportunities and they put the third in.were it not for defender Collins Omondi not giving up,Karuturi could have been 2:0 up.
We are meeting a strong team this Saturday, they will be looking to proove a point to us,ka chonjo bwana Zico, unless you give us the trophy,ur days in office are numbered.

    Good boys of K’ogalo.

During the beginning of the season, the riot act had been read to you. We are going nothing short of a trophy this year. The fans are expectant.

They have followed you wherever you go. From the coastal city of Mombasa to Mumias in western. From Nyayo national stadium to the industrial town of Thika. Along the way, they chant our club anthem.

Before a match, the stadium erupts with chants of K’ogalo, k’ogalo.
The green and white flag goes up.
It’s the trumpet summoning you to duty.

We have shared the triumphs with you. And we’ve also cried with you when we loose.
Guys, you carry our hope. You hold our destiny.
The moment is here. Keep K’ogalo dream alive!

Honestly I think Zeddy is Lucky,we Just have good Players.I say This with Conviction Because of how he has Juggled the starting Line up and still fail to get that Knockout Punch….Bench Power is the one that wins the game..But at the same time The starting Line up hold the team’s lifeline.I Just hope that we can start training even harder as we did before AFC game so as to finish with a statement…League is tough and we have to now weka mtu/Funga Mtu …because we’re already down on goal difference…Over to you comrades

  • Great game K’ogalo. Playing in the rain has never been easy. Even the Karuturi goal was coz of the rain. Let’s help Zedi and the team. That’s why we have this blog. Let us suggest then wait for the season to end before we judge him. Please Zedi, play Selenga on the wings, he concentrates more out of the box than inside. The back line is the best in the league today, Moses Otieno and Collins are fine in midfield but we can add Rasta for great passes and of course free kicks. We had many free kicks and i wished he was in. Otherwise, looking at the table, i have a feeling that the title is ours. Great support. Boys and girls danced in the rain for you K’ogalo. Thanks everyone.

    “PRIDE COMES BEFORE FALL”

RIOT ACT TO THE “OFFICIALS” & “TECHNICAL- BENCH”

As we approach the finishing lane for 2011 Kenya premier league, GOR MAHIA mainstream leaders seems to have forgotten “OUR MISSION & VISION”. Its like they have been overtaken by the surrounding events at the expense of our collective expectation.

    1. Rachier the chairman is busy campaigning for the chairmanship of the forth coming elections. And its evident that he does not have the blessing of entire GM officials. This implies that we have a divided and mediocre management team at the helm of GM.

    2. Zedekiah is lost with ideas and does have a feeling of getting one step better with Harambee stars at the expense of “GOR-MAHIA” so as to improve his “CV” and win a permanent contract with the national team.

A HOUSE DIVIDED IN ITSELF CAN NOT ACHIEVE OUR 2011 DREAM OF WINNING THE 2011 SEASON OF KPL. THATS IS THE NAKED TRUTH AND THE WRITINGS WILL SOON BE ON THE WALL.

Its wishful thinking and i stand to be corrected. After wonderful performance during our derby with AFC we are back to our usual old ways of doing things that completely show lack of professionalism with the technical bench.

Its true and factual that we lost our game with Tusker only to be rescued by suspected referee rulings over their clear goals[2]. We fluked our win in mumias during the dying minutes. Karuturi did beat only for referee to add more time than expected for “GATUSSO” to salvage our image. We lack “CREDIBILITY” of still playing in the FKL cup. Even if we win the cup we the real champions credit and pride because we were knocked out the coastal boys of Congo united. “FUNGUENI MACHO WACHENI KULALA

We are wondering why Zedekiah “ZICO” can not be shown the door. He is not only destroying young and promising talents like the former “KITAWI” now doing well with Tusker ,KIPLAGAT,KEVIN OMONDI”Ade”, GATUSSO ,MACHEDA ,ODHIS RASTA just to name a few.

“ZICO” hates this product that SIANGA identified as future talent”which means 2011 kpl champs” to the expense of our vision and mission and i can prove it.

He has pocketed Rachier as they both chase the second bird at the national while holding on our worthwhile ‘KOGALO” as soft landing spot. They have hired gangs of thugs from his nativeVillages, estates etc and of course ZICO “Bang smoking and drinking buddies “that have been paid to protect him so that he remains untouched.

GOR MAHIA IS JUST RIDDING ON THE GOOD WILL OF THE “GREEN ARMY” AND LUCK.

I TELL YOU GUYS THAT WITH THIS TECHNICAL BENCH AND THE BUNCH OF GREEDY AND MEDIOCRE OFFICIALS IF WE HAPPEN TO PLAY ANY CONTINENTAL FIXTURES NEXT YEAR THEN EXPECT TO BE BECOME THE WHIPPING BOYS IN ANY OF THE TOURNAMENTS.

Lastly i have resolved that i will not quit the “GREEN ARMY” but ready to pay any price and make sure that GOR is given back to the rightful owners who are non other than the “GREEN ARMY” FRATERNITY.

    GOD BLESS GOR MAHIA.

  • @18, Okoth Jabilo…i salute your crtical punditry…you are so spot on.
It’s becoming obvious that we are a team succeeding only because of luck and the GREEN ARMY support…we need to have a vision the SIANGA approach..Sianga identified and nurtured players trained them and we all saw the beutiful game Gor used to play! But here we are…fake sponsorship that heavily benefits TUZO than GOR (TUZO deal might end up being a scandal..where has the money gone to??), boring soccer of long balls rather than the sleek passing game we used to have, dubious officiating just to ensure Gor moves top, back-door decisions just to ensure Gor remains in some fake “knock out tournament”….the list is endless.
Strategy going forward should aim at re-energizing the technical bench..even if it means firing the coach…let him move permanently to Harambee Stars…we should mould the team especially the young players. It’s a pity to see Kevin Omondi strugling at this level yet we all know how good the boy can be! The Coaching unit is killing young talents at GOR…and may God forgive them for they know not what they are doing…where is Kiplagat, Macheda…etc..only the coach know…Our Gor needs urgent medication otherwise Tusker is slowly but clearly taking the title and this will not surprise me. I pity those who see things to be normal at Gor because they are not…i pray that their eyes be opened to see the dark side of our great team. I rest my case. GOD BLESS GOR.

“ZICO’S” time is up and we can not stand any more of his non-sense. A bird at hand is worth two in the bush and that is why he should concentrate with his national duty job on a full-time basis and let Ko-galo be managed by people who are worthy handling a highly profiled and esteemed football club of Kogalo status.

How can head of technical bench take it for granted to be gambling with players in each and every match. If we fail to beat ULINZI on Saturday, then GOD forbid if ZICO will not have resigned willingly.

“COACHES WORLD-WIDE COME AND GO & GOR IS NO EXEMPTION” The yard stick for measuring coaches performance are nothing other than trophies won and kept in the cabinet.

Wenger is feeling the heat at the moment from his own Arsenal-supporters and he is now giving in to changing tactics for the better, that means spending wisely. Who is ZICO in GOR MAHIA to take under-performance of the team as something normal yet he has all the resources at his disposal.

HE IS LEADING GOR TO BE AMONGST TOP FOUR FINISHER’S BUT NOT TO BE CROWNED THE 2011 CHAMPIONS. WATCH THIS SPACE BEFORE WE STARTING MOURNING THE GUNNERS STYLE.

I said it many times and some of u took issue with me…well i don’t see them write anymore meaning they got the point, apart from some sofaset individual. Zico is not a winner. Gor is too big for him. Which professional coach settles scores with players coz he didn’t sign them? Rem when he had a spat with Gatusso for expressing his opinion? He benched Gatusso and we ended up with a point in 3 games. Macheda, Kiplagat, Blackberry, Kevo all made us troupe back to the stadium pregnant with expectation again, the Mighty Kogalo who never dies had risen again. They displayed breadth-taking soccer, passing football, and they scored goals. Zico came and destroyed their careers and we now have shemeji football. Result? 1 GOAL SCORED PER GAME. Frustrating. Definitely will not win us the title. I watched Zico as a defender and he exemplified great defence. That’s why we are so great in that department. But that’s all you can get from him. Nothing more. I mentioned before that his game will bomerang and Russia will lose it. Well, on Sato Russia crossed to Mainstand and some of them did lose it. I almost lost my voice, why throw bottles at the camera man? It’s Zico messing things up and am very afraid for the Gor image.

Beaten by the bottom team Congo United, outplayed by Tusker, struggled to beat 10 man western stima, barely scraped a draw with Sher Karturi. Zico does not have a clue. Meanwhile Bwana chairman is busy campaigning. Too busy to notice that the team is playing upuzi. Even Harambee stars cant score any goals when Zico coaches them.

Now I am almost believing that the coach may indeed lack ideas on how to score goals and win matches. To be realistic the Tusker and Karuturi matches were losses to us, don’t tell me about the one point that we got if you saw what I saw. Bwana coach do you ever read these columns, do you ever take advise? Your choices are truly limited and they are that you have to WIN, or WIN, or WIN matches convincingly in order to win the league.

why should zedy field odera & Co for over 80mins and it is clear they are clueless yet the bench is packed with goal poachers. the technical bench, officials & players should be subjected to performance contracting.

Ulinzi drew with Thika, Rangers was hammered at Sony, Sammy Omolo got Mahakama relegated last season. Odhiambo helped City stars to beat us. Now he is in the cold. Sofapaka coach with all his certificates, no results. Are those the teams you admire? Are those the coaches you hope to recruit after kicking out Zico? If we can’t afford a top tactician from elsewhere (Not Kenya) i suggest we stop being emotional and support our team. By team i mean – Officials, Coaching Staff, Players, Fans and Sponsors. Gor loses, they throw stones. Gor draws, fielding by Zeddy was poor. Gor wins, they were lucky. What exactly do this guys want. I am starting to doubt whether these are true Gor fans. Gor are currently on second position and if you notice, we have been climbing the log slowly but surely. What exactly is the complaint about? @Agwa Kassam, you are right. Some of us are inconsistent. We are not losing matches, I dont see the need to change the technical team at this stage of the league. Kindly hold on your horses until the end of the season which is only 10 matches away. Please be informed that our game is no longer the beutiful game of soccer but rather a dull long range passing game that is clearly a game of the past.

I said before and i’ll repeat today..We are where we are because 1) poor referees’ decision going our way e.g Tusker game. 2) The always available GREEN ARMY support. Without the above 2 factors then we’ll definately be a middle tier team.

I say this openly from my heart because i love Gor and i want us to win the league and win in style not by scoring 1 goal in each game and waiting for a referee to add 20 minutes!!! this is unacceptable…you wonder why Harambee stars cannot score a goal

We are where we are coz Zico is coaching the team with alot of IMPUNITY because he believes he’s alfa & omega and yields his powers direct from the chairman.
We are where we are because the chairman’s ambitions are elsewhere…you all know where.

Long are gone the days when e.g Peter Dawo would be fielded even without attending training sessions because the fans and the chairman would said so. The current office has given the technical team a free hand to handle the team. There is absolutely no impunity. Its simply each individual’s effort that earns him a position in the starting lineup. Zico does not tolerate any indiscipline in the team. That’s why players like Gattuso found the going tough under him at some point. Attend training as prescribed by the club, put the necessary effort during training, then you will earn a first team jersy. When he was at Chemelil he did the same and it worked perfectly well. The problem with us fun’s is that we want to dictate to the coach who he should field even without finding out whether the player is match fit. Leave the technical stuff to the technical bench. Let us stick to our role of cheering. Any other business, should be addressed after season is ended. Lets not distruct the team. Thats my very humble plea. For God and my club Kogallo

You guys are not serious with your club called Gor Mahia. AFC is the club to beat this second around. Nabado..we are going to defeat Gor 5 Nil in the second round. I pray you loose your match against Ulinzi. On saturday Gor will be rained on. The result will be Ulinzi 2 Gor Mahia 0.

Mathare 1 – Tusker 1. Did I see a comment that Mathare is a mediocre team? Did I see, a cooment like Gor was favoured against Tusker. How come Tusker also cannot beat this mediocre team. Do we now agree that this league is not easy. For God and my club – Kogallo

  • @Kosero. Thanks for being one of the few level-headed GM followers. Kwani if we are to beat each and every team everytime what would be the need for us to be part of the league. Those complaining should attend the GM training to see which players are available for training that week and who is on form. That’s how the starting 11 the world over is chosen. Let’s not just point at mistakes but also propose solutions as well. Guys, let’s not just lets concentrate all our efforts to win the league then we can deliberate the others afterwards. As much as we really need to win the league so are the other teams

  • Despite not being at full strength we are still number two having lost only two matches yet I hear no Kudos to the team and/or coach for this feat as we can only see the glass as half-empty yet for some of us it is half-full and we are just waiting to top it up come November! For some of us criticizing the coach do we know that he treks home after the GM matches. That’s how much we care about him while claiming that GM is a big team. The moment we get a coach from outside let’s be prepared to house him, give him a car, holiday to Msa amongst other things. There was a proposal to motivate the coach by fundraising to buy him a Vitz. I don’t know where the idea stopped. Do we have a medical insurance for the players? Lavatsa and Ochomo are always out on injury denying us the punch upfront. I believe the coach means well for the team only that his plans backfire at times. Why don’t we plan and send them (both the coach and his deputy) for professional training instead of just blaming them all the time?

OH YES OUR LEAGUE IS VERY HARD,ASK ULINZI OUR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS WHO WERE THRASHED 4-0 BY AN EGYPTIAN ARMY SIDE IN THE MILITARY GAMES,OR SOFAPAKA WHO WERE THOROUGHLY OUTCLASSED 8-0 BY AL HILAL OF SUDAN IN A FRIENDLY ON 8TH JUNE.THAT IS HOW HARD OUR LEAGUE IS.THE FANS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE POOR GAME EXHIBITED BY OUR BELOVED CLUB HAVE A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE GAME.THEY KNOW WHAT AWAITS US SHOULD WE REPRESENT THE COUNTRY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.MOSES ODHIAMBO WAS IN THE APR SQUAD THAT PUT US TO THE SWORD ON THAT FATEFUL AFTERNOON AT NYAYO STADIUM.ASK HIM ABOUT THE LEVEL OF THE GAME OUT THERE.MWAKIO,PUNDIT,POD ANTIE ARE POINTING TO GLARING INEFFICIENCIES IN THE CLUB WHICH FOR SURE ARE AND WILL CONTINUE BEING REFLECTED ON THE PITCH.THE FUTURE OF THIS GREAT INSTITUTION LIES IN ESTABLISHING A SECRETARIAT WITH QUALIFIED OFFICIALS TO RUN THE CLUB.A CLUB HOUSE WHICH CAN ALSO ACT AS AN ACADEMY FOR OUR JUNIOR TEAM WILL GO A LONG WAY IN ENSURING THE CLUB MAINTAINS A WINNING TRADITION.THE CLUB SHOULD RECORD ITS MATCHES AND REVIEW THEM WITH THE PLAYERS TO WORK ON THEIR WEAKNESSES.WE NEED A COACH CONTRACTED FULLY TO OUR CLUB WITHOUT ANY DISTRACTIONS AS WITNESSED TODAY .IF WE HAD A COACH WHO HAD CONTRACT TO PERFORM,WITH THE ABUNDANT TALENT IN THE SQUAD AND THE PASSIONATE FANS WE ARE BLESSED WITH THEN NOTHING COULD STOP US FROM CHALLENGING THE CREAM OF THE CONTINENT.

  • Hate speech has no basis and doesn’t contribute anything positive to the team……. The most important thing is that everybody from players to the technical bench should learn and understand what it means to be a Gor mahia player/Coach and having respect and feeling for green jersey (not for 1 or 0 points)……Come on BOYS IT TIME TO PROVE THAT WE WERE ROBBED THE TROPHY LAST SEASON.

sofaset man,we are where we are partly because of big referring decisions going our way,and of course because of the undying and unwaverring support of the kogallo faithfuls(fans) am not so sure about kicking out zico this late in the day,but again it is the coach’s responsibity to ensure that each and every player attends training, when he(the coach)calls a session. We should not hear that so and so did not play because they have not been attending training. These players are paid and unless one is injured if you cant attend training you have no business being a gor player.
Again, as you want us ‘to stick to our roles’we will not just sit and watch as things get bad in our team.even in england when a top team such as man-u,arsenal or chelsea is beaten at home,(for that is what happened to us on saturday)fans must ask questions.

  • To all beloved fans; point to remember is … not any team in the FKL is willing to loose any point if anything all teams are going to win. Blame game about the coach, chairman or sponsorship will not salvage anything with 10 matches on the card. the best we can do is for the green army to stand tall and count as the 12 and possibly the 13 player in the team; the oponents will be cowed and always play under pressure. 15 years is such a long time time without a cup and now that we too close and yet too far from taking it we should give undevided support to the Mighty Kogalo. Kosero you are in deed a true follower of gor mahia.Despite being all the way in uganda u have all the details on ua fingertips.I understand its the nature of the luopeans to always win and nothing else.”but don’t their lives have ups and downs”If only zico can have enough time with gor mahia then he is the best coach for us.Have u realised that when he has national team assignments its when our team performs poorly?this definately means that the man who handles the team when zico is away is the problem. As for the ulinzi game we can win so long as it doesn’t rain or better still the team should already be in nakuru. As for the green army waruako u nakuru dala!LONG LIVE KOGALO!!!

  • Why would Ziko have problems with players? It is because they dont respect him. And if that is true we have a bigger problem. Simply means there is no fairness in team selection. Mara hii ni Gatuso, then Dube-the problem is Zico must be the bigger guy and steer the team forward not make decisions based on who licks his piere the most. Those who deliver in our eyes must get play time. Period.

  • To all GK fans; every team in the KPL are not willing to loose any point. We should admit that we realy lost many chances compared to our oponents. I dont understand why players like Ivan are not being utilized at all, while a player like wise Okoth is on the pitch.I think K’Ogalo is too big for them. We should have the best players starting and only have super subs who are going to add the preasure on the opponent team. LONG LIVE GM

i think the players r not the problem, infact we have the crop of players every coach in the kpl would like to have. Cmthing has gone wrong in the head of the coach ,1-lack of commitment, 2-run out of idears ,3-the job is too big 4 him,4-he cant coach two teams at the same time and lastly thinking that winning against AFC in july was the end of the league. So this is the right time for action to be taken b4 the funs/followers loose their patient. ZICO pls stop clinging to this & have an honorable exit .
