Esperance coach Ruud Krol acknowledged that Gor Mahia are a good outfit and praised his side for pulling off a big win.

The Tunisian outfit pulled off a 3-2 win over Gor in their CAF Champions League meeting at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday and the Dutch coach said his side faced a strong opponent.

Good

– They are a good opponent and have supportive fans. We expected a good game but we did not kn ow they would be as good as they were, he spoke of Gor after the clash.

– My players did well and gave a go effort to beat a strong opponent and I praise them for that, he added.

Tunis

The Tunisians will be overwhelming favourites to go through to the next round of action after their big win.

The display by the boys was impressive. This is a good team that can do wonders in the region and continent if they keep together for reasonable time. My suggestion, and with all due respect, Jerry is jaded and was not fit this game, needs a rest starting with the return leg and the next four league matches.First and second goals were stoppable.

You can do it in Tunis get a goal early and put them under pressure, kill their wings and you have gotten the Arab.

  • Gor mahia lost because of naivity. having re-watched the game once more on telly, we should have been 2-0 at halftime.

This ooach, Rud krol of Tunisia, is ‘very sarcastic’ and his comments are in bad taste. He confessed not to have known much about gor mahia before the game, now he claims gor mahia is a good outfit !!!!

Having watched Kenyan football for the last 30 years, what gor mahia FC and AFC leopards need to do is to get politics off this clubs and instill professional managers who can be accountable for performance of the clubs both ‘on and off’ the pitch. by doing so, they will create sustainable structures that survive today and beyond tomorrow….. I like the way someone said,” gor won in 1987 and went to sleep, Esperance lost in 1987 and went back to the drawing. “

  • Congrats to the boys and the TB,the display was more than expect. To me you won this game if not the small but costly mistakes made by defenders and poor goal keeping. ALL IS NOT LOST, WE CAN WIN IN TUNISIA.
    ‘God bless kogalo’

  • Forget the past , seal your defence , aim at scoring 2 goals the first 20 minutes and you will be there.

  • Congratulations. You lost on goals but not on a good game. you have already sent chills down the spine of Esperance. The next leg is not going to be easy on them either. They will tighten their belts but so will K’Ogalo. Put them under pressure of the away goal. Put them to the defensive early enough. Those guys are beatable.Play as if there is nothing to protect but a good game.

  • the faster gor is knocked out the better. this sounds mean but the team is still immature. they have shown that they can stand with the best but still need some time for players to show character. Timona wanyonyi although a culprit, but the guy is good and needs to mature much faster. i don’t know what happened to the left wing but the defence really needs to wake. even though i am not impressed by the coach Bobby, his comments show that he himself was not expecting much from this fight… he did not have to make it so plain. Kevin a good player but as usual no focus, good he was subd. the team was impressive but probably realised only at a late stage that this was a fight they could have won. i was also impressed that gor did not use ‘kenyan tackles’ otherwise we would have really suffered. had given gor 3yrs but i now cut that to two. what i can conclusively say that whatever was lucking in gor is nolonger that big, it can be fixed, Bobby over to you and pls show some fighting spirit.when David was told to go fight Goliath he never made comments like ‘I will do my best ‘ . the fight was inside him and his size was never an issue.
this match was lost one week earlier AND NOT by the players.

am sorry to say dinga you reasoning is horrible, you don’t fail your tests/c.a.t.s along the way just because you are preparing for an exam.As for the coach i think you just don’t like the gentleman maybe you had a preferred coach elsewhere,so what?, we all did.Support BW and give him a chance. You say the team was impressive but you are not impressed by the coach. What a contradiction.Support BW Ki’roho safi uwache ma’heartburn.

From a footballing perspective we lacked the experience to kill the job. What the coach gives you in training and what happens in the field is always attributed to experience. To me we played above our expectations. Blunders happen and that is what footy is all about, punish your opponents mistakes otherwise it would be such a dull game. For our mistakes Musa didn’t play safe when not seeing his blind side and we got punished. Modern defence play he would have played for a corner. Jerry also went to punch the ball but feebly succeeded, in footy you punch the ball so hard to go for a throw in where your team mates can be organised. Third issue was the weak coverage/support for Walusimbi when he went for the offensive from the left outside midfielders (Kevo and BB) hence the counters. Otherwise Emuge and Shakava played their hearts out.Kudos to the duo. Though we missed Calabar footy being what it is there is no guarantee that there would have been a difference if he was there but we believe that there should have been.
That team is good and has depth and the Coach is good though not vocal and being a gentleman some fans don’t feel him. Somme still miss the drama from Logaruzic and Ingwe’s Emayel but BW will take us far. Locally unless something goes wrong e.g. the sponsorship issue I can see us retaining the TPL trophy

  • Admin, please note that you’ve posted the last 3 articles all which are very pertinent & topical very fast one after another.
I think this has denied bloggers a chance 2 ventilate their diverse views on the articles.
As regards this current K’galo situation I would describe it as a foundation built on sand (nay quick sand). All seem to be in agreement that if this team sticks together( TB/squad) is retained & built on the very soon Mighty K’galo will b a force regionally & continentally……

  • but this needs finances, serious money.
Nothing less than a stable financial base & structures.
Therefore when EC (collective responsibility holds here) r very ones dealing in fake tickets to enrich themselves off the sweat of players & fan’s love 4 the club then don’t expect much.
Very soon we won’t be able to retain most of our players without a salary of 150-250K/month. Money which is there but being pocketed by EC. U wonder y the frmer Snr. V chair opts 4 the Org. Sec post. Is AR culpable?

  • @Dinga and Oduor12 are always predictable “negative attitude”. This two are the Sanballats and Tobiah of our modern times sorry to say so because it is evident. For me and i believe most of the bloggers here we have great faith in this team. Officials were elected and if we cant keep faith in people surely. The players, the technical bench and players know our expectation. We need to have faith that they will do the right things to move the club forward.

@Dinga and @Oduor 12 if you watched the match and/or waited for the last whistle you would have seen us applauding the team despite the loss. No one does that in Kenya. The reason for that is because we had our expectations which was that the team will give their best despite our meagre resources and experience. We also know that in two years time we will be able to compete with the best in Africa .This is on condition that we improve in terms of fan base, financial and management

  • @ Voltage’s opinion is welcome but Dan Orig. if you read my post there is nowhere I have criticized the team so your comment of watching the game live or staying till the end holds no water.
Please don’t just join either bandwagon just 4 the sake of it.
Voltage faith is ok but what faith r u talking about when its obvious from Ngala’s statement that fake ticketing is an inside job being sold by the official agent @ official selling point.

THE MIGHTY GOR MAHIA OF EAST AFRICA SHOULD BE RUN LIKE BARCELONA WITH REGARD TO COMMUNITY SUPPORT. I AGREE THAT WE NEED CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP BUT AS A COMMUNITY WE NEED TO REBUILD THE MIGHTY KOGALLO INTO A SPORTS CLUB PARTICIPATING IN SOCCER,HOCKEY,RUGBY,BASKETBALL AND CRICKET.LET US RECRUIT MEMBERS USING THREE METHODS ;1 APPROACHING PROMINENT PERSONALITIES AND REQUESTING THEM TO JOIN KOGALLO. 2 SENDING LETTERS TO KEEN SUPPORTERS. 3 . ASKING INTERESTED SUPPORTERS TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP. IT SHOULD TARGET 100 THOUSAND RENEWABLE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE OF 1500 KSH. PAYABLE IN SIX INSTALMENTS THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF THE SEASON THRO A BANK READY TO PARTNER WITH US IN TERMS OF SPONSORSHIP TO OUR CLUB.THIS TOTALS TO 150 MILLION KSH.ANNUALLY PLUS 30 MILLION KSH GATE COLLECTIONS 180 MILLION KSH. WE WILL B CONTINENTAL POWER HOUSE. JORAMOGI IT IS DOABLE. YES WE CAN.

“K’OGALO” Vs “TARIJA” TIE IS STILL IN CONTENTION

Both the “Test-tube” fans and always “Pessimistic” bloggers of this site please give us a break. Some are even giving their crude ultimatum as to when we are suppose to hit the peak.

Gor Mahia will subdue Esperance in Tunis by winning 2-0 as long as the level of officiating will be a replica of the what we witnessed in Nairobi.
And whoever is doubting can take this bold statement
    to the bank.
    1. Calabar will be back to provide the much needed
    support for our defensive strategy.
    2. Jerry will definitely do a “BITAM” in Tunis after
    his initial goof.
    3. Bobby Williamson now understand the strength and
    weaknesses of TARIJA.
    4. Our players prosper when facing a fierce fan base
than our own cause there will be no unnecessary
pressure from the likes of and so of this blog site.
    5. If we approach the match with a winning attitude
and mentality;then BW has what it takes in the
squad to hit the two goals and lock up the game
    with Onyango and Erico.
