Logarusic looking elsewhere

Courtesy of EA Standard

hile Gor officials insist coach Zradvko Logarusic is coming back to the club, the Croatian is looking elsewhere.

In a posting on his official website, the coach said he is available to take up a coaching role elsewhere in a move that should force Gor to start thinking of life without him.

Logarusic has posted all his achievements in Kenya with Gor Mahia and as an individual together with his credentials.

Attached are also pictures of him receiving the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) coach of the year award.

When he left the country three weeks ago, Logarusic was categorical he did not have a deal with Gor and was open to a move elsewhere.

Bone of contention

The bone of contention was the high salary he was demanding, which Gor officials insisted was unreasonable but were willing to negotiate further.

Last week, Gor Secretary General George Bwana said they expect the coach back home on January 2 after his holiday.

Elsewhere, former Thika United coach Abdalla Juma is back in the KPL after signing for KCB.

Juma was formerly coach of division one side Bidco United. He is back on familiar territory after having handled Thika United for seven years previously.

He takes over from James Omondi who was sacked by the bankers due to poor performance.

Loga is not serious at all and if he wants to go, let him go to where his heart is guiding him. Loga is not the only coach that can coach Gor Mahia. We have other competent coaches that can handle our team.

Why are we pleading with someone whose heart is elsewhere? I’m fed up with this guy and let him go as our club is bigger than Loga. We need to focus on recruitment and preparation for next season with or without Loga.

The big heard syndrome is messing Loga and fans that will stop at nothing in pleading with someone whose heart is not with us.

The above article has no meaningful content on Loga leaving, the headline was meant for people to buy the newspaper. Nothing wrong with coaches marketing themselves online. I believe if anyone came for him they still will have to negotiate with Gor since he still has a valid contract till April 2013. If he gets a club then so be it but I see him back in time for the start of the season. In the meantime Bobby will continue to prepare the team as am sure he has learnt quite a bit since the time he started working with Loga. My worry is the fitness coach, is he also leaving or will he stay put? All the best for Kogalo

PLS PLS PLS LET LOGA GO IN PEACE……..HE HAS DONE ENOUGH FOR KOGALLO, LET SOMEBODY PUSH US TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

THERE ARE SOME OTHER GOOD AFFORDABLE COACHES IN THE MARKET BUT FOR GOD’S SAKE LET EC NOT RECYCLE ANOTHER KPL COACH…………..

  • Guys, what made Loga succeed is that he managed to minimise the interference from the EC. If Bobby is given that space, which I know is both hard and possible in the same breath then we can make it. Tusker won the league with local coaches then why can’t gor do the same. One assumption we should make is that the coach is not coming back and build our team. The fans, who are known to build and destroy at the same time should manage their expections and know that however good Loga is GM has limited resources to pay the staff and players. We have to get a coach according to our resources otherwise Goudiala is free but we know we cannot afford him. In UG we can still get a good coach to work with Bobby to reach us to the next level. By the way for a whole year didn’t we learnt the tricks from Loga on how to succeed? I believe we did. If he goes the best we can thank him for the short time he was around and wish him the best. Afterall as we said GM is bigger than an individual

Loga is a great man/coach who instillled personality on the team. But at the same time, a team is more important that an individual. Soccer is a players league. Right now, his demands is far beyond the team’s resources even if we have a sponsor. The coach himself would agree that he has had a comfortable lifestyle with Gor Mahia than all the player who made him great. Yes, some coaches are accidental winners thanks to the talents around them. A decent coach can make a huge difference, depending on the talent on his roster. But it’s not necessarily about a “good” coach but more about the “right” coach. Let us think of a more sustainable way of equally suppoting the technical bench and the playing unit. If he cannot lower his demands for the sake of the whole team, let him go and soon he will be complaining that he has not been paid six months worth of salary by his new club and will look back at GM with nostalgia.
He is becoming a distraction. He should have been around doing what he is paid to do, instead he chose to leave his duty to Bobby. If he comes back on the same old terms then we can consider him. His contract still runs until April, why is he acting as if he already finished his contract?

gentlemen, February is not far, we should obtain a firm commitment from the EC that we shall be having a coach in place by 2nd January 2013. We have serious assignments ahead and the earlier we conclude the issues of transfer and the coach the better.
I hope that we can trust the SG when he says that we have concluded talks with Kiongera and the Brazilian and that Loga is also coming on 2nd Jan.

Is there any crisis? Yes and No.

No because there is a tech bench in place and only Loga has chosen to abscond (his contract runs till April but he’s in Croatia blogging about the amount of money he needs) while Sir Bobby is visibly busy working on building a team. The work therefore continues thus no vacuum at all.

Yes, (there is a crisis) because there is similarity in the way we recruited in December 2011/Jan 2012 in that we are already lining up rejects from other teams into our camp! And the noisy/nosy ever talking EC members are very busy ‘recruiting and wishing in players’. i hope JBO is in charge lest we end up parading movie stars from UG!

Expounding on Loga abit. Remember he also recruited some players who have never impressed nor matched the pace and quality at GM which is a testimony that no one is perfect in the business of coaching hence as Dan @8 puts it,EC should keep their hands off the technical and player selection matters thence we’ll succeed. Truly coaches come and go the difference is in making decisions, standing by them and taking responsibility.

The whole business is not just winning the TPL league but about conquering Africa and that’s why I would still recommend a foreign coach who is clean of Kenyan football politics and has an independent mind. Logarusic succeeded because he did his work independently and he instilled discipline on players. He also managed to create self-belief in players, discipline was the highest priority and he managed to create equal opportunity to all players without favoritism.

In brief, what I’m saying is
    1. we need a coach who can instill discipline on players,
    2. we need a coach who can advise the EC when it comes to matters related to the field and players (above reproach),
    3. we need a coach who is able to stand pressure from fans,
    4. we need a coach who knows how to study every match (strategic)
    5. we need a coach who is unbiased but gives all players equal chance to prove themselves thus creating a haelthy competition amongst players

Question – can we get such in Kenya? By the way is the trainer also going with Logarisic?

K’Ogallo faithfuls I know that we love our team and we really would like the best for Mayienga. It is only at gor where players and coaches makes a name for themselves . See RAMA SALIM who now thinks that he has made his profile with gor and can join any team abroad and likewise to Loga . He may be a good coach but I think he should take the league with k’ogalo first to make his profile more attractive than he thinks and I know he can do it.Likewise to Rama who should also not do the same mistake that blackberry and peter opiyo did when they thought that they are now too big to play for k’ogalo and decided to leave for greener pasture and the result were disastrious . I believe that a player of Rama’s calibre should know his priorities which is winning the domestic title before going abroad. I am afraid that if he made his move to leave GOR before he matures then he will regret it.The last thing that I may say is that Gor is Bigger than any individual and anybody who thinks that he is bigger than Gor should know that leaving Gor will not kill Gor.I also would like to dissagree with those who think that we can do well with a local coach.Take for example Matano who helped tusker retain the league, he immediately fired other players who according to me helped tusker retain the title. Players like Ndege could not be dropped but because he only wants his players he had to drop him.Our coaches are easy to manipulate and they can end up fielding only players that they are instructed by EC to field and thats why Awono could not manage.

I would also like the entire K’Ogalo family to have a culture of donning Gor mahia kit with the names of our players so that our players can also feel proud to be at k’ogalo. Why should anyone be happy wearing a jearsy with VAN PERSEY and not Serrunkuma or Rodriguez if the Brazilian comes. The EC should start selling kits with the name of players so that we know which players kit sells well and this also improve on the players earnings.

I’ve said b4 and totally agree with Dan and fellow bloggers that “what made Loga succeed is that he managed to minimise the interference from the EC”.

Sir Bob will not be given that space by the EC, just look at the nature of our recruitments now. Can he fight the EC on non-interference,from his tenure b4 Logarusic came i doubt if he totally can.

Also i’ve always maintained that Sir Bob is technically/tacitally at per if not better than Logarusic but administratively and in the ability to implement what’s gud 4 GMFC Logarusic is way ahead of Sir Bob.

Note the dangers of point 1 and 5 by @12 W.A.B. Logarusic this weeded out completely. Note that some players owed loyalty to EC members but Logarusic stopped this. Why else was Selenge being paid 4 6 months yet he never played in the 1st eleven 4 six months.

Its not that Logarusic is a mzungu its just that he the best coach for GMFC,he delivers, just like Obama is the best president for USA. Don’t look at their theatrics (Obama crying and Loga’s antics), rather look at their results. Michel failed because he could not handle FKF administration, Loga can handle/work with the EC for the benefit of GMFC.

Its not that Logarusic is expensive but rather a bloated, unaccountable EC is. The question is whether we want GMFC to be a soccer gaint reginally or continentally or not.

Remember this “IT IS NOT THAT K’GALO CANNOT AFFORD to
    1. PAY LOGARUSIC
    2. DOUBLE THE OTHER TECHNICAL BENCH’S SALARY. Remember we can even survive without a so called TM
    3. IMPROVE THE PLAYERS TERMS TO EVEN 75,000 PER MONTH. WITH Logarusic expensive residential training are not necessary nor are bloated squads. BUT THE EC WILL REINSTATE THESE MONEY MINTING SCHEMES. ASK YOURSELF WHY?
    4. THE CHOICE CLEAR FOR THE EC,MAINTAIN THEIR BLOATED CHAOTIC STYLE AND SIZE BY FORCING OUT LOGARUSIC BY CLAIMING HE HIS EXPENSIVE.
    5. WHAT IS THE CHOICE OF FANS/ MEMBERS (HOWEVER TOOTHLESS).ENRICH 12 INDIVIDUALS OR AGITATE FOR A K’GALO TO BE THE BEST IN AFRICA BY DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY AND RETAINING OF A WINNING FORMULA.

REMINDER=The money is there Kshs.17.5m or more? But do we pay Logarusic,Sir Bob & the players or 12 individuals?
    Repeated article below:
Gor Mahia can afford Logarusic’s salary, even double Sir.Bob’s, and improve player’s terms. What the club cannot cope with is sustaining a largely corrupt, inefficient and bloated executive committee. Here are the facts and figures.

    Income: Kshs.

    1.Gate Collections ( not complete) 25,063,448.00

2.Tuzo Sponsorship(Officials who jeopardized deal should take responsibility) 18,000,000.00

    3. TPL Sponsorship 2,500,000.00

    4. TOP 8 Winners cash prize 1,000,000.00

5.TPL runners up cash prize 1,500,000.00

    6. TPL participation award-all teams paid as per position approx 500,000.00

    7. Top 8 participation fee 3 matches @ kshs.100k/match.4 EC to this agree is a joke 300,000.00

    8. Branches fee (82 branches x 6,000/branch) Info from GMFC official website 492,000.00

    9.Known Donations-Raila-500K,Kisia-200K,Kidero-200K 900,000.00

    10. Harambee for coaches car 330,000.00

    *Total Income 50,585,448.00

*Not included due to lack of info-1) Supersport payments, Merchandize/Tshirt replica sales, Nation jacket sales,CAF harambees, airtickets from PM, Chairman’s contribution though with the above figure I am doubting the myth the he single handedly finances GMFC.

Expenses- Mainly taken from G.Bwana’s Financial Explanation on facebook/ to the media even though incomplete and seemingly exaggerated. Remember GMFC has 26 players.

    Gor’s Monthly Expenditure
    1. Sponsorship =Kshs 1,232,000(Player’s salaries only) x 12 months = 14,784,000.00

    2. Technical bench salaries = Ksh 235,000x 12 months = 2,820,000.00

    3. Office administrator =Kshs50,000x 12 months = 600,000.00

    4. NIC bus loan =Kshs 65,000 (Highly doubtful with all harambees by fans) x 12months = 780,000.00

    5. Head Coach $3,000 (Ksh.250,000)-came in March x10 months = 2,500,000.00

Weekly expenditure for match preparation. Let give EC benefit of doubt and use full 52weeks/365 days
    6.Transport allowance Ksh.8,300 perday x 365days = 3,029,500.00
    7. Medicine =Kshs15,000 x 52 weeks =780,000.00
    8. Water 3000 per day x 365days =1,095,000.00
    9. Hire of city stadium Kshs 5,000 per dayx 365 days =1,825,000.00
    10. Winning bonuses =Kshs 154,000 assume they won all their 30 league matches =4,620,000.00
    11. Coach’s taxi 800 per day-for 30days every month for 10months. =240,000.00

    Total Expenses = 33,073,500.00

Surplus-which is higher if omitted income e.g Supersport is taken in account =17,511,948.00

Are you convinced that the EC has used Kshs.17.5million to print tickets and hire GMFC security or is this amount mainly divided between the executive committee?

1.Remember our players don’t even have medical insurance.

2.By retaining Logarusic, motivating other members of the bench and players gate collections can easily hit 40m in 2013.

3.Remember the current bench wins trophies without the expensive residential training hence and with a lean squad hence saving the club these expenses.

4.Logarusic and co. will pay for their salaries through performance.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS AND MINE PAY LOGARUSIC, SIR BOB, BENCH AND PLAYERS WELL OR CONTINUE PAYING THE EC APPROX KSHS.1.5million per year each instead of each member of the EC contributing even kshs.20,000 per month towards the club.

Not sure if they are ‘eating’ Gor money unless someone can prove it. instead of giving us an unaudited income statement without the corresponding authorised expenditures
