Rama Salim has been a revelation for Gor Mahia since joining the club from relegated Congo United in the recent transfer window and his sterling performance has been lauded.

The Creative midfielder has been at his best scoring three goals for K’ogalo, with two of his goals securing two-straight wins for the Kenyan Premier League giants.

New roles

According to Coach Zdravko Logarusic, Rama’s improving performance in each and every game is as a result of his new role in the team.

-When I came I didn’t have any background of any player but I managed to recognize a few players who are young, focused and disciplined, Logarusic told futaa.com.

-After a week or two I realized I had to change some positions of the players. I found out players like David Owino is a utility player but his previous was not good for him; hence giving him a new defensive midfield role.

-I realized Rama has the ability to run in the space and use it, that’s the reason why I started playing with one player behind the two strikers; in most of our games he’s been coming from behind and score, this is because the defenders are not on him.

-Already he’s shown the ability of playing in that position and even score as he can receive the ball and capitalize on a one- on-one situation.

Next superstar

However, the Croatian born coach is confident that after a short while with proper football education, the Harambee Stars midfielder will turn into a superstar.

-Most of young players shine just in few months and the next month they are nowhere. Unlike other boys who have a body of a man but with a childish brain, the good thing about Rama is that he’s determined, focused and he always think about football.

-He’s the potential. We must go step by step, avoid the injuries and advise him to work hard because he’s one of the talented players in the country, concluded Logarusic.

1.How do you call your meetings. Can you use this site for such purposes. This might just be the an alternative to the still born bloggers branch.
2.Do you realize that to have any recognition by GM EC you’ll still have to register as a branch.

Coach – it is good that you are praising and instiling confidence on some of the players, but please limit the amount of tactics you are employing. All the opposing coaches have to do is read your interviews and plan accordingly on how to contain some of your key players !
Other than that I really appreciate the work you are doing thus far, and where your are trying to take the team.

  • I also agree with @4 Kamau wa Njoroge that the coach should limit the amount of information he releases during his interviews to a bare minimum – let the oppossing teams find out your tactics “on the field of play” (after the team has scored several goals !) …. at this rate ALL your tactics are going to be out there for ALL to read …

  • Gor needs to buy land and build a sport complex. This can be attained through our fan base through paying a figure of Kshs 1000 on yearly basis. If our fan base can be assumed to be at 1 million, then we can attain an amount of Kshs 1 billion.

  • good for rama no player can be created in Kenya except at gormahia where fans appreciate players thus making them feel good to work hard and entertain so rama will hit higher this how European and south American do thus making the countries top footballing nations so if our company clubs cannot transform into regional teams then kenyan football is really lying in its rightful place outside top 100

  • THIS RAMA GUY WE KNEW ALL ALONG HE COULD PLAY AS AN ATTACKING MIDFIEDLER , RIGHT BEHIND THE STRIKERS……EVEN THE PLAYERS WHO HAVE BEEN SHOWN THE DOOR WE KNEW ALL ALONG THEY WERE BELOW PAR. NOW I THINK THIS IS THE CORRECT COACH FOR GOR MAHIA….HE READS THE GAMES AND IS BEGINNING TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND HIS PLAYERS….GOOD FOR THE CLUB !!!!

Rama is good, more or less like Mieno of Sofa. Everything is on his side; the age, skills and discipline. Let him keep his feet on the ground and he will scale heights of success. On other lines has anyone realized the number of comments from our seasoned bloggers has gone down? May be am wrong. Lets continue encouraging this team. It got lots of potential.

  • As we shower Rama with praises (he is worth them by the way) let’s not forget to encourage the others to show their commitment to the team. Players like Ngwa and Midenyo really ‘fight’ upfront and hence Rama gets the space to rove. All the best guys

  • Kamau wa Njoroge, the opposing coaches already know the tactic immediately the lineup is announced or at worst 5 minutes into the game. They dont have to be told. Therefore there is no reason why coach should not discuss it. He is however not supposed to discuss the tactic he will use in the next game but certainly can talk about the one he used!!!!
