Logarusic to refresh team

Gor Mahia Coach Zdravko Logarusic says that he will seek to refresh the team at the end of the season, bringing in fresh blood and releasing a number of players. He says he has identified some players though he is yet to firmly decide on who he will give a chance.

“Definitely at the end of the season we have to refresh the team. Of course we will bring in fresh blood and release some players. I have seen some couple of players and when the season ends I will bring them into the team and see how they gauge against what we have,” Logarusic told michezoafrika.com.

“If they are better than the players we have then why not. We will have them in. I am looking for at least one player in each department and only the best. Gor Mahia is not a charity. This is a big club and we only need players who will play. If we can’t get better players than we have, then no need of bringing them in,” added the tactician.

He has pointed out that between two to five players will leave at the end of the season though he is yet to decide who and who leaves.

“It is not that the players we have in Gor Mahia are not good. It is just that we have to inject new and fresh blood and they have to be better than what we have. We aim at making the team stronger for next season,” he concluded.

I am always supportive of any change that is geared to make Gor Mahia better and bigger.

I cannot even attempt to suggest who should be axed by the end of the season. However, these changes must be carried out systematically and professionally to reflect the wishes of the club supporters.

K’ogalo just like all other clubs in Kenya is dogged by sins of omission and commission of the previous club administrators. It is an open secret that officials cut deals with prospective players. A recent shake up of the team
by Logarusic amost spilt the beans on what normally transpires between players and some crooked officials. I must however admit that not all officials are corrupt and I have never shied away to shower praises at the earliest opportunity.1

I want to urge comrades to brace for unprecedented changes at our annual AGM never witnessed in the history of this great club. It gonna be business unusual. We want a team of men and women who’ll bring radical transformation to Gor Mahia. We want people who are ready to think. Courages men and women who are ready to initiate radical decisions and improve systems for better services and accountability.

Gor Mahia cannot claim to be a football giant on one hand and on the other carry a begging bowl. The massive local support the club enjoys must be exploited to attract sponsors, increase revenue and improve the welfare of players and the technical bench.

The club must also look for intelligent negotiators and not the lot who cannot even afford to read the first two lines of the agreement just because they’ve been compromised. Over to you GB and Faiz!

The day Kenya football will be run and managed by men and women who take sports administration as a career and not a pastime, then we shall be able to realise all that we soccer fans always long for. If only Gor Mahia can tread this path and avoid the time-tested-but-failed avenue of juggling between other careers and ‘volunteering’ their spare time to club matters….

I hope the Log’s sentiments will bring out something extra from each player as we aim to WIN OUR NEXT MATCH and then the NEXT MATCH and the NEXT ONE.

Trying out shaban nditi ( Tanzania ) or godfrey walusimbi ( Uganda) could possible be better option than thinking local …..

What Logar has said is very necessary in the team. @Jakoyo, let us give the coach time to do this. He knows who to replace. A player might be good but does not fit in his tactics.

Ochoro @ 5 am sure the coach seeks/ reads information from bloggers……..dont underestimate the power of the fans. As stakeholders of this great club, we are all here to help him not to replace him.

@3 you have made my day thinking we can offload Moses (LuckyDube) Odhis. that guy is a play-maker. again we CANT have Noah abith whatsoever, maybe we could go for Atudo. Again you are mentioning Ngwa but technically we released him long ago when we gave him on loan.

Anyway Logarusic whoever comes in or goes out you have our full support.

Anyone suggesting that Moses Odhiambo should be released must be joking.

Wacheni hii!!!! Why do you want to demorolize some players before the season has ended? The bottom line is the coach has a right to do what he wants to do, but the truth is, we do not know and should keep our peace until after the end of the season. My plea is lets stop exchange on this, its not good at this time.

Where are our communication managers? Who even brought in this matter in the public domain at this time?

I think this is what is of essence, it proves that the coach is not personal just professional. If only EC could follow suit. With fans and Logarusic leading the technical bench GMFC is on AUTOPILOT.

We are paying Lugarisic to do this thinking, unless you earn any salary here, you have no business mentioning names of players to have or to let go! Give the coach a chance!

the suggestion of possible players to be released and brought in and the difference in opinions it generates shows haw much we know little about football,so we should just let Loga who trained and is paid to coach do his job as we do ours
