Mixed luck for former Kogalo coaches in Ghana
Former Gor Mahia coaches Zdravko Logarusic and Frank Nuttall were hired by the two most storied Ghanain clubs: Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
Logarusic had a superb start and was even rewarded with a brand new pickup truck by the club chairman.
However after 11 matches, he was fired following an outcry by fans. The club had won 5 games, lost 2 and drew 2. The primary fan complaint was the lack of goals. Something that plagued Kogalo under Logarusic in 2013. Though they were leading the league, goals were hard to come by.
Kotoko have faired poorly since Logarusic departed. They have gone from second to eighth place.
Frank Nuttall is fairing much better. His side is currently third in the standings.

Jasego could Ze Maria consider Baba Kizito and Dan “Flava” as options to J1(aka 4m problem) & J2 if the 2 don’t prove themselves by the mid year transfer period. It means that Ze Maria should not vanish but be active and sanction the any/all signings.Thorough medicals are a must. On Sportspesa, this is a company that seeks to penetrate the market and aggresively wants exposure. GMFC can provide that exposure by delivering trophies. That’s where doing well,even winning, in CAF and Mapinduzi Cup can be used by EC to leverage for increased sponsorship.Simba’s entry is not good for GMFC given their fan base/ recent better CAF record.EC should ensure GMFC is SP’s option to penetrate the continent. I concur with you on SportPesa sentiments bro..On Baba Kizito and Danny Flava i dont know really if the coach would want them in replacement of already established players who understand his philosophy so far.But it will be up to him to propose signing if any in June so we will wait and see but should he feel a foreigner is required we will float Baba.The team is fine though for now doing what it should

Gor has produced great players and even after their retirement, we are still moving and winning…The idea of dumping us at time of need and come back when you are desperate should be stopped

Sometimes I fail to understand our bloggers that Kizito and Dan Serunkuma should be considered in June recruits. Recycling of players is not for the best interest of the club. We now have great players and goals will continue to come from strikers, midfielders and even defenders.
I personally do not support the idea of bringing these two players back to Gor Mahia. These are the same players that left the club when we needed them most and I thought they were going for greener pastures. What has really happened to the greener pastures the duo were going for in other leagues? Gor Mahia as a club did not benefit from the greener pastures with zero receipts of transfers. Gor Mahia should not be used by selfish players like the duo and Abondo as a stepping stone for the non existence of greener pastures.
There is a tendency of players coming to Gor Mahia to rediscover their forms and thereafter they go for greener pastures for free with the club getting nothing in return. Let the technical bench focus on the local players as the current foreign quota is enough unless one of the foreign players decides to leave for greener pastures.
Let Ze Maria mound our local talents and this is where the future of the club depends on in scaling the club to greater heights.
