Muguna: We were fatigued in the first half

Gor Mahia skipper Kenneth Muguna says that the team experienced fatigue which resulted in their slow start againsty arch rivals AFC Leopards last Sunday.

“We have not had time to rest since our away match against DC Motema Pembe in the Caf Confederation Cup play-offs,” Muguna told goal.com.

“It was for that reason we started on a low note; in the entire first half we did not play, but we stepped up after the break and managed to win the game.

The creative midfielder says the win is a morale booster for the team as they pursue the goal of winning the league this season.

“The win is very important for us because it takes us to the top of the table and gives us confidence.” said Muguna

The only good thing that comes out of being eliminated from continental football is that Kogalo can now focus on the domestic scene. And Muguna knows that the club cannot take their foot off the accelerator pedal.

“We want to win [the league], it has been our objective every season but right now it is important to play one game at a time. It is going to be tough because we have the likes of Tusker, Sofapaka, and Bandari fighting for the same but we are determined to give our best,” Muguna concluded.

Meanwhile AFC coach Casa Mbungo, who refused to speak to reporters after the match, finallt got around to doing so. He rejects the idea that Gor Mahia are better.

” Gor Mahia are not at a higher level than AFC Leopards it is only the experience they have got especially from various competitions they have been which have given them the edge over us,” he said to goal.com

Mbungo says that poor marking cost his team

“We lost the game in the second half and that was due to poor concentration and poor marking. After going down by two goals I decided to take the risk and introduced attacking players at the expense of defenders but, unfortunately, it did not work,”

Good morning team. Allow me to repost this.
Great people we are in agreement that
    1. Our focus will be players and the Tech Bench. Oduor12 has laid out a very good framework for this.
    2. Our monthly contributions must be affordable
    3. Our mission is to strengthen (augment) Gor Mahia by lending a hand in those areas where the EC has fallen short. We shall in no way be seen to be fighting the EC even as we operate our independent financial management.

Being affordable means 200/- annual Gor Mahia membership registration fee and 125/- monthly contribution. I realize that Sam Muga is suggesting that members who are 21 so far should register with some fee. It is a good suggestion. However, I am of the view that this membership should be free and instead we should work out with the EC on our members registering as Gor Mahia members. I say this because if we can raise the GM registered membership to our targeted 25000, then
    1. Dan’s idea of a K’Ogalo credit card will be fast tracked.
    2. Oduor12’s idea of season tickets will just fall in place. This will translate into stable bank accounts for the club. 200 x 25000 = 5M per year.

Once these 25000 are registered with the club, they will now remit 125/- per month or 1500/- per year to this fund. 125 x 25000 = 3,125,000/- p.m. or 37,500,000/- per year.

We have hit a membership of 21. We only have 24979 to reach our target. We shall surpass 25000 once we embark on a very aggressive marketing and sensitization of this project. We shall traverse this country visiting schools, colleges, universities and places of worship to sell Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund. We shall distribute fliers and brochures at venues of KPL matches. If we do this from Lodwar to Lungalunga, Isebania to Moyale and Lamu to Busia. We shall use the power of social media to tell a friend to tell a friend. I am seeing us having more than 25000 registered members of Gor Mahia F.C.

Allow me to tentatively start a WhatsApp group named Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund with this number 0748 844 410. You can also call or text on the same number. I want to thank brothers Jamal, Albert Kosero and George Ambayo for getting in touch. May the rest also contact me so that they can be added to the group.

May I caution that for our personal security let us not post our phone numbers here. Kindly in- box your number to 0748 844 410.

I agree, though my worry is that EC has not made the registration easy for everyone whom might be willing but can’t access Gor Mahia offices. Are we still going to depend on the same office? What are we going to do different to make the registration process easy and available?

This is a good start and I am in plus 5 members of my family plus 5 good friends of mine. Regarding the registration fee, my opinion i think it should be a mandatory, For anyone who want to be part of this historic move, must show his seriousness and must be able to at least register and to be issued with a membership Number /card. Lastly for all those above ideas to work well please just try and draft a very simple constitution to guide members. Register at least 50 to100 serious members then call for a meeting for members to elect official. Mano opinion mara Ekaka Anene, I stand to be corrected. Let’s all remember that referral is the best means of marketing tell a friend to inform a friend about Gor mahia Augmentin Fund.

    Good job @BB.
What if for one reason or another I don’t want to register as a GM member but am committed to contributing directly towards the players welfare through the fund.

The 5m that the fund will be remitting annually to the EC as membership can actually pay the players and TB for 2 months.
The 5m registration if retained by the fund can be used as a buffer fund when contributions are low.
How it is also important to get recognition from the office so maybe the fund can pay the branch fee which if am not wrong is kes.10,000.
That way money raised by the fund is almost entirely spent in players’ salaries.
Let me categorically state that in my opinion contributing to the fund should not limit one from being a registered member of GM and vice versa.

It is ok great man. We will not make people register as GM members against their wish. I remain guided by your wise counsel. That is we are a team. Let us get the 25,000 on board. WhatsApp group will be rolled out by evening today.

2 members from the current EC will also join once the EC is disbanded next month. So @ bb, you have 2 more members .
