Emuge to miss CAF cup as new signings settle in

In Israel Emuge, Gor Mahia have signed a vastly experienced , dependable centre back. Emuge who is 28 has played for top Ugandan teams KCC, Express Red Eagles and most recently for upstart team Kira Young.

In Uganda Emuge is known as a defender who reads the game well, has excellent aerial ability and is a solid tackler. he will partner with fellow Ugandan Ivan Anguyo or with Donald Mosoti depending on circumstances. Emuge given his physical attributes will be especially useful against robust strikers.

It is now being reported that the reason Emuge’s name was not included in the CAF list is because his international transfer certificate did not arrive on time. According to futaa.com, Emuge’s ITC came on January 22. A week late. He will thus be unavailable for the CAF cup.

Paul Kiongera, the highly touted signing from KCB has already settled in at the club. He put on an excellent show at the Saturday match against. He seems to have already developed an understanding with Dan Sserunkuma and Rama Salim with whom he has played at the national team. This bodes well for the season. “I took it as an opportunity and I appreciate every moment. It hasn’t been difficult adapting because the football here is so good and I’m very happy with how everything has been.

“The coaches give me confidence and I hope to keep improving to help the team as much as possible. I enjoyed my competitive debut against Sony and the team is full of good and talented players. It’s been life full of football and fun right from training, he told the club’s website gormahiafc.co.ke.

And as usual, the fans are part of the reason why so many players want to play for Gor Mahia. It is what attracted Giovani Rodriguez and Danish striker Rasmus Jacobsen. On the fans, Kiongera said “I love the fans and the way they show us support even during training. They are one of the best things about football for the players. We need the fans behind us because it helps the team play well on the pitch.”

New signing David Otieno has expressed admiration for coach Logarusic. “I am impressed with the coach so far, he has a way of working that is different to the rest,” said Otieno to supersport.

“He speaks to every player like his family and treats them like equals. Also, he is not afraid to tell someone what he thinks, which is good for me. Then he has a certain energy to him. He does not just stand there and say nothing, he walks around and gives instructions.

Otieno who is a defender is another highly experienced player having been at Gor Mahia briefly in 2006 before joining Tusker and Western Stima. Otieno, Zachary Onyango and Kiongera were the three new signings who impressed Logarusic the most last weekend

The squad looks promising and ready for the challenge ahead. Depending on the weaker areas, the technical bench will weigh and act when the transfer window re-opens in Jul. Let us meet at Kasarani on Sato to support the team as we pocket USD 10,000 and the first trophy of the season

I agree with u @2, lets go & cheer the team to glory . Remember we are still unbeaten.
With the issue of sponsorship , that K’Ogalo fun Okwiri, was he serios as a gor mahia die hard fun or he was playing gor mahia politics. If he is realy looking forward to gor future then he should lias with the chairman AR and secure gor mahia that sponsorship so that we as gormahia can be where we should be. Gor requires such a big sponsor becoz gor is a big club.

Cont. Even me if I had a sponsor who would be able to give even one billion kshs. then I would not bother who is the chairman or the treasure of my beloved club.I belive K’Ogalo is loved by very many pple allover the world and I believe that Okwiri should be taken seriously and if he is joking then he should even stop calling himself a K’Ogalo fun.

I also hope the EC will seriously follow up Mr.Okwiri on a statement he made in broad daylight in front of more than 300 members. That deal is too sweet and we must know the outcome of it.

On the squad its a pity that 2 places in the CAF tourney have not been utilized. First Ja-Brazil, then now Israel (quite a good name). EC should tightened these administrative loose ends.

However. all the best to the players, lets have a winning season on all fronts, the entire fraternity.

@#5 you cant register a player without proper documents. The two we required international transfer certificates which originate not from the club but from the home country federation delivered to fkf thus the Club EC Has limited role to play

Please bwana coach, get your house in order. I am ready as always to cheer our team, but this time i need convincing results. Not being held by some Muhoroni youth with no player to write home about. Not playing for only one half and surviving the remaining 50 minutes. Hii ni club kubwa. Let me see it. I support you when you say Ja Brazil must go, but let those who remain prove it.

Please when you pick Mosoti over Owino, let it show. When you pick Wekesa over Yusuf, let it show. When you pick Nasio over Musa, let it show. When you are spoilt for choice between Otieno, Anguyo and Omuga let it show. When you can’t tell who is better between Ja Goal, Ja Towel and Zachary, let it show. I want to see Kogalo dominate like the fans do. Not survive by luck as it was the case in some games last season.

We have Rama, Sserunkuma, Lavatsa, Kiongera, Kevin, Odhis, Mutiso, Abondo and Abbey whom are all top strikers at least on paper. Make them score goals. Make our team great.

Please bwana coach, you came back because you believed in the potential of our team and were also added money. Let me see the boys talk on the pitch.

LET ME ADD MY VIEWS ! WE NEED A PROOVEN STRIKER, A REAL GOAL POACHER, A SAVIOUR…ONE WHO CAN CONSISTENTLY SCORE 20+ GOALS EVERY SEASON….WE DONT HAVE THAT AT THE MOMENT !!!!!!

I think we are missing the point here. Dan serrunkuma came to gor when we were having a very blant striking forwards and we knew that he was a good striker. He prooved that and scored more than ten goals for the second leg that he joined K’Ogalo. Why are we behaving as if we dont have strikers and yet the best striking pair of Rama/Dani &kiongera/ lavasta. we are not being fair to our players becoz I think currently they are the best.

  • Israel Emuge is a versatile player. I have known him since I follow Ugandan football passionately. He is a great addition, but I hope he still have energy left in his legs, having played at the top level for quite sometime now.
