No Kogalo players as Stars eliminated
There was no Gor Mahia player who saw action as Harambee stars went down 0-1 to Togo minus Emmanuel Adebayor. The loss saw Harambee stars eliminated from the 2013 Africa Nations cup.
Matchwise Togo had the upper hand in the first half forcing several saves from Arnold Origi. Kenya came into the game briefly in the second half. The goal that sunk Kenya came in the 59th minute via a long range effort from Serge Gakpe.
Kenya’s elimination does not come as a surprise. The national team has been rather unimpressive of late. The calibre of players currently featuring for the national team is the lowest that most Kenyans can remember.
Starting XI: Arnold Origi, Jockins Atudo,James Situma,Brian Mandela,Joseph Shikokoti,Kevin Kimani (Jamal Mohamed),Victor Wanyama,Collins Okoth,Dennis Nzomo (Patrick Osiako),Patrick Oboya (Paul Were),Dennis Oliech.
What happened to the team that played so well in Angola and Uganda last year under ZD?
There is nothing new in all this as it was always coming. I feel sorry for Denis Oliech, Mariga, Arnold Origi, Situma and Mugubi whose time is running out and will miss the opportunity to showcase their talent in the continental and global arena. It still beats me why Kimanzi had to replace Zico at a time when the later was more successful with the ‘friendly’ team than with GM.

i beg to defer with barefoot bandit.while the likes of oliech and mariga have very little time left with the stars,players like origi and mugubi still have age on their side.however,our main undoing over the 3 matches was the circus of trying to convince oliech and origi out of retirement totally forgetting we had other capable players around….end results???its there for all to see.2 players were more important than the nation!!!!

No kenyan expected the ‘stars’ to shine in an away match.
Changes please
As expected the team lost all the away crucial matches. We will not be represented in the AFCON next year and WORLD cup in Rio come 2014 Nyamweya is busy buiding his portfolio at FIFA at the expense of our football standard this is the impunity Ocampo has to deal with immediately he takes over at FIFA as this is crime against the football lovers in the country.
As much as we say that we shouldn’t have Wazungu coaches all the time in our teams. There is some stability and continuity they bring to the team. Even the football administrators treat them better. Who knows maybe with either Zico or Hay we would still be in the qualifiers. Maybe we start from scratch like Fabisch (RIP) did by ignoring the Motegos and going for Unknown Simiyus and Baresis. At least we still have our beloved K’ogalo to entertain us football-wise
two ways to this problem.
kenya soccer can rise thru’ kogalo or thru’ a biased effort made thru’ the government. i will explain,
1.thru gor – many african countries have this ONE club that seems to have everythng which in turn supplies the national team with players. here i can quote el-mereik of sudan. there are others. what i’m saying here is that these type of clubs have the money and are regular campaigners in africa. in short their players make the staff of what the national team needs as they come with experience . gor can be this club. only problem with this method is that it does not have sound structures and tends to be temporary. i have argued on this sight before on how to achieve this.
2.have a goverment that is RUNS ON FOOTBALL. here we are talking nigeria, egypt ,algeria etc. these methods have structures eg youth programs, foreign coaching ,football development budgets ,accountable football associations etc. one problem why this will be diff in kenya is corruption in the football assoc. the major problem is to have such a gorvernment first. the mentioned countries have such governments. and pls take note a keep watching rwanda so long as kagame is around.
back to the friendly team. its not a question of the players, but coaching. i repeat that kimanzi himself said before the qualifers that he could not manage to go to the world cup. he is already out of afcon. 0-0,1-0… what are we waiting for. i still have no faith in kimanzi but i pray that he is left to finish the job. if he fails then he will never have a reason to come back. unfortunately ppl like nyamweya have no solution to kenya soccer, their ideas of progress is the handouts fifa gives kenya like the kisumu taff project and some building probably at kasarani. but why is he in office, this guy did not fall from a tree, yes he was elected there by the same guys complaining.in short the govermnt way is good but a very long short. so do it the GOR way. at least it’s somthing we have control of. once gor have it good then the rest will want to be part of it…success attracts. otherwise the friendly team with come back with the usuall,fkf will say the usual and life will continue. mr croatian this is ur chance to shine, there is a vancant office in the horizon but give me my pound of flesh first at gor.
I read on futaa.com that Loguracist and his big mouth think they knows kenyans and the KPL so well that he can provide instant coffee solutions to Harambee stars.
With defensive formation what do you expect? Is it not a draw or a loss. I’ll continuously repeat that Kenya cannot defend so we need to always attack whether home or away in order to make the difference
Let him prove himself at GM first before we can think of entrusting him with the national duty. But can he learn to talk less and perform. As somebody did mention in this blog we are going to judge him in his first five matches and by now im sure he knows and understand who his employers are.
