Now Ze Maria denies sacking Ottamax
Gor Mahia’s Brazilian tactician Ze Maria has now distanced himself from reports that he fired goalkeeping coach Mathew Owino Ottamax. He is also livid that Ottamax went to social media to make the announcement.
“I feel going into the social platform and writing what he wrote was unprofessional and should not be so. All in all, I respect my players and staff, I have not undermined anyone in any way. This is because we have to work together in unity for the good of the team.” said Ze maria to goal.com
Ze Maria is adamant that Ottamax walked away from the team and was not fired.
“Having a misunderstanding does not mean that you walk away from the team. That is what Ottamax did, he walked away from us; I did not fire him at all.” he continued
Chairman Ambrose Rachier is also unhappy with the behaviour that Ottamax exhibited
“Issuing such a statement on social media is also shocking because if such a thing happens he (Ottamax) should have just informed me. Until now, I have not heard from him (Ottamax) and I strongly believe that he is the keeper trainer at Gor Mahia,” Rachier told Goal.
Rachier had earlier released a statement in which he said he was unaware of the firing and that as far as he was concerned, Ottamax is a high quality coach and is still responsible for the goalkeeping department at the team

Poor Ze Maria. Ottamax deliberately blew a small matter out of proportion in order to incense and incite the fans against the coach. Surely, how will they work as a team?
Ottamax was wrong to run to the social media but its seems bloated EC is inaccessible. Why are they there, remember the leaking of Nutall’s salary on social media. Let’s not tolerate these administrative lapses due to lack of structures and codes of conduct. Rachier & Co are not greenhorns. LET EVERY OFFICIAL SIGN A PERFORMANCE CONTRACT. 1) EVERY YEAR GMFC MUST QUALIFY FOR A CONTINENTAL TOURNAMENT 2) GMFC MUST REACH AT LEAST THE SEMIFINAL OF EVERY CECAFA TOURNAMENT WE PARTICIPATE IN 3) GMFC MUST REACH THE GROUP STAGES OR 3RD ROUND OF EVERY CAF TOURNAMENT WE PARTICIPATE IN. FAILURE OF EC TO ACHIEVE THESE MINIMUMS MEANS THEY AUTOMATICALLY LOSE THEIR SEAT. Immediate solution is a new TB, surely Rachier you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that current TB can’t work together unless you don’t care if we lose the league also.

There is always three sides to a story, His side , her side and the lion story…..Each of us will believe what fits with their belief or opinion. Who between Ze Maria and Ottamax is saying the truth?
Yes but why was Ottamax so quick to rush to social media with that outburst? Are there no administrative structures / policies to address such issues or relationships between players, TB and officials? Either Ze Maria is given a free reign (might be futile coz players have been roped in) or better entire TB is sacked and new TB (in my view its the only option left to save this season) takes over till end of the season. WHERE WAS EC WHEN ALL THIS NONSENSE WAS TAKING ROOT LEADING TO THE CURRENT EXPLOSION. WHERE IS THE REAL PROBLEM EC, TB OR PLAYERS? WHO LEARNT WHAT FROM THE NUTALL SAGA (USING SOCIAL MEDIA) AND HOW ARE THOSE LESSONS BEING APPLIED?
Ze Maria in my opinion is not doing enough to change the teams misfortune . I won’t comment on the issue again I have no vibe for one ze Maria
I have told Ottamax to his face that he and Ogweno better go and find a working formulae with Ze Maria or else if they fail to win the KPL championship then the entire TB will be shown the door. They have the antidote to cure that Jo-Brazil Versus Jo-Dala cancer. They will only rest after winning the remaining matches consecutively whether through tiki taka, taka taka,poka poka, patia patia or patia potea we care less.

This whole technical bench should be fired, they have lost focus and nothing good is going to come from them
Ni kama ndrama ni kama vindeo. However it is quite clear that The TB is not cohesive. Even the TB members are questioning Zi Maria’s credentials by referring to him as ” a misfiring” coach. These are symptoms of poor leadership. I am sure these squabbles did not just happen on Sunday. Rachier should be hands on in matters Gor Mahia. Telling us that he is not aware of some happenings is equivalent to incompetence. Bure Kabisa. May be old age is catching up with him and he should give way to young vibrant leaders with fresh ideas.
This is Gor Mahia, the only club where a goalkeeper trainer can abscond duty then inveigle fans that a coach fired him. The coach does not pay the TB, how then can he fire anybody? The management is in the dark concerning Ottamax’s sacking, how then was he sacked?
In life, we do find greener pastures elsewhere but that ought not to be an excuse that propels us to show disdain and rebellion against the grass that we have grazed hitherto.
Ottamax, seemingly, has found a coaching role elsewhere and wants out of Kogallo. Bidding us bye should be done in a civilized way, not by chattering that “a coach that fires blanks sacks his goalkeeper trainer”! I even think that he must have initiated a controversy against Ze Maria so as to find a tangible excuse to evade Kogallo.
Never be surprised by the news that Ottamax has joined a local club on a coaching role, please bank my statement.
Glaring show of incompetency by AR.That a junior TB member can insult his senior and is still welcome back at “home”.There are a clique of people who made gor mahia their “natural home” and consider themselves “unbwogable”lead by AR in particular.The rot start from the top.Octopus is just giving a tip of the ice burg.surely the admin of this club is rotten to the core.now after the childish outburst by Octopus, AR in his wisdom still believes these people will work cohesively.shocking mediocrity.This EC is living in the past.They simply can’t cope with level of professionalism that is expected of Gor mahia.
I think what is happening at GM is just resistance to change. Maria wanted to change the kind of football we play and (may be) the way technical matters are run in the club. Such a radical shift must surely be resisted by those who would prefer maintainance of the status quo. This is what caused the sharp division. I smell sabotage here. Peharps all of us should be patient while we urge the TB and management to iron out themselves.
