Nuttall denies rift, ready to confront Ulinzi

Gor Mahia coach Grank Nuttall has denied that there is a rift in the technical bench. There have been reports that Nuttall had fallen out with fitness trainer, Tom Ogweno. Nuttall has however dimissed the allegations.

“The reports going round in media are not true I did not expel nor suspend the fitness trainer on Sunday as reported. I’m happy with the staff and on what we are doing behind the scenes with regard of the technical bench.

“I’m happy with the decisions that are being made in the club and we have unity since everyone has his own role,” said Nuttall to capital FM.

Other reports suggest that new fitness trainer Tom Ogweno and new team manager Jolawi Obondo were brought by Vice Chair John Pesa and Sec Gen Chris Omondi in order to settle scores with Frank Ouna.

However Sec Gen Omondi has dismissed such allegations saying he does not have the power to bring new officials as he sees fit.

Apparently Frank Ouna was attacked by unruly youth sent by one of the new officials.

However team captain Jerim Onyango has stated that the team and the technical bench are united and ready to play their next match.

Captain and goalkeeper Jerim Onyango echoed his coach’s sentiments and urged the Green Army to be calm since there are is no trouble in the club.

“I don’t think if there is any problem because there is good collaboration within the technical bench. The coach has assigned everyone his role and everyone is happy. I’m calling upon our fans to be calm since everything is okay,” Jerim said to capital FM.

Reports published by a local daily alleged that assistant coach Frank Ouna misled Nuttall on team selection following their 1-1 draw against Tusker, but the Bobby Williamson successor says the match was tough and he expects every game in KPL to be difficult.

Ulinzi will be a tough game. I have watched them play last week against KCB and we have gone through the DVD’s of their previous games to get more familiar with them.

“Players are ready and willing to go and like every coach I want to win the remaining matches and hopefully retain the title. Ulinzi is a strong team and we are not going to relax because we beat them in the first leg, a lot has changed in that period including the squad,” Nuttall said.

It will be remembered that Ogweno was fired when he fell out with Zdravko Logarusic at the end of the 2012 season while Obondo was accused of infighting and fired along with coach Anaba Awono, Julius Owino and others.

Tactics

Godfrey Walusimbi had a stellar game when he was given free reign without full defensive responsibilities. He will provide further attacking options for coach Nuttall especially now that Gor Mahia has lost quite a few of its playmakers.

Timothy Otieno, while promising needs to work more on his poise,, composure and accuracy. He is one striker who needs several chances to score. Nuttall being a FIFA instructor will know how to sharpen Timothy. He will have to because his attacking options are not plentiful. Blackberry is far from his 2010 best and Patrick Oboya has not been fully fit all year.

With David Owino “Calabar” missing due to suspension, Nuttall may opt for Israel Emuge to replace him. The latter is now fit after an injury.Nuttall also has the option of deploying the youthful Charles Bruno.

It will be a tough outing against Ulinzi. Coach Matano is very adept at playing disruptive football.

“I have watched their (Ulinzi Stars) games. They are a compact, physical side and we expect a very tough game,” said Nuttall said.

Ati Gor was favoured against Tusker? No way if any thing its Tusker who played a very physical game from the beginning and were not penalised including a handball in the box. In the first leg they did the same and earned two red cards. That Atudo guy ought to have been sent off ten times. He appeared to have been briefed to kick and push Dan off the ball all thru, otherwise how does one explain his switch to central defence from his right full back position? So Kimanzi or whoever it is maligning Gor that way, please keep your frustrations to yourself.

To our players focus ahead, forget about those distractions, one game at a time, the prize is in sight and they are seeing this hence the jealousy.

KOGALLO FANS BEWARE ! FANS BEWARE !

As we match towards the title there will a lot of distractors, haters and rumour mongers all trying to ensure that we don’t win the title…..some people will be paid to create commotion and riots in the stadium so that matches can be abandoned or replaid to the favor of our title chasing opponents, opponents will be bribed to throw away matches, referees will be tempted to award dubious penalties and our key players will be roughed out of the stadium in the name of injuries………….It’s our time to stand up and say NO to this f*@king bullshit !

Today, I think will be the title decider and if kogallo can beat ulinzi, I see no reason why we should not stay on top until the last day otherwise a draw or a loss with the limited playing personnel that we have, chemilil or tusker might just sneak the title!!!

    Good luck!

Whether or not there is a rift in the now bloated technical bench, Nutall is the head coach and the buck stops with him.
Ati Ouna mislead Nutall on team selection. HOW?
My advise to Nutall cut down on the size of that TB.
My advise for the umpteenth time to GM fraternity CUT DOWN ON THE SIZE OF THE EC TO ONLY 4 OFFICIALS.
Hope things are not being swept under the carpet as the reassurances are rather exaggerated like the kshs.500,000 estimate to repaint GM bus.
    All the best against Ulinzi.

@ODUOR12 I think you will do yourself a lot of good by just supporting the team and let alone the EC and TB. The EC is blotted, TB is blotted, the players are below average, please accept all that and move on. You can absolutely do nothing about it.

Let us all rise up to give maximum support to our team. Kogalo is our team and we must support the course no matter the rumours. I can see Tusker is waged a war against Gor Mahia and we are going to overcome it.

Whoever watched the Esperance game will know that a professional team will have as many as even 10 TB members. You need a manager and/or Head coach then you have the goalkeeper trainer, defensive and/or offensive trainers, a physical trainer amongst others. The issue is that they should complement each other. Personally I think our bench as constituted is fine. Our only problem is the many coaches we have outside the team as well as 20th Century/Mama Ngina/City Hall analysts who pick anything from the media and run with it as if it’s the gospel truth. The Head Coach and Jerry have confirmed that all is well so who are we to think otherwise?
Let’s support the team without conditions. We are almost at the doorstep and we all know that’s when the pot falls if care is not taken

What makes some more competent/more of an authority on GMFC matters than the so called guys from 20th Century, C.Hall etc.
How some are able 2 confidently state that discussions there are being articulated here is beyond me unless they are members of both “sites” but most importantly SO WHAT IF THEY ARE. Shida NI
SUPPORTING GOR WITH/WITHOUT CONDITIONS IS ONE’S OWN PREROGATIVE.
So please articulate ua views since we all know mighty K,galo was/is a league/CECAFA/CAF champ i.e IS & WILL EVER BE!

We drew again. Scoring is still a big problem. Let’s hope our strikers will find their scoring boots again.
For sure this league will be tougher than ever before and we will be the targets for every team. Fatigue will also take its toll. It’s not easy to play after every three days.
But all the same I still have faith that we will make it to be champions

@Dan, a draw with Tusker, Ulinzi and AFC are not so bad. It means we are also hard to beat. In fact, I am thrilled even though it would have been better

@Pmawego I agree with you. The last 3 draws were against very tough opponents. Not worried yet. Its not over until its over. For God and my beloved club – Kogallo
