Defenders David Owino, Musa Mohammed and midfielder ‘Teddy’ Akumu are set to start training this week as they prepare for their next league match

After their 2-1 defeat to Bandari FC over the weekend, Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson has been given a reprieve with three of his first team players returning to training.

Defenders David ‘Calabar’ Owino, Musa Mohammed and midfielder Anthony ‘Teddy’ Akumu are set to start training this week as they prepare for their next league game next Wednesday.

Akumu and Owino had picked up ankle injuries in the 2-0 defeat to Nakuru Top Fry while Mohammed was out attending trials in South African Premier League.

“It is good having them and they are up for contention for the next game. They will add a lot of value coming back to the team because before that they were playing an important role Williamson told Goal.

Williamson however says that there is no cause for alarm despite the fact that they have not won in four matches.

“We have been playing well and only unlucky not to score. In one single game, we create many chances but have fallen short in scoring. That was the same in Mombasa against Bandari and they were only lucky to score the second goal. I believe we will bounce back to winning ways.”

  • Welcome back but you must know the task ahead of you is demanding. I’m sure you can deliver. Pls do it for the sake of fans. Imagine a group of your supporters travelling from Ksm to Msa to cheer the team on reaching Nakuru they were fined 10k for over speeding which they paid and proceeded with the journey. Each paid KES 500.00 at the gate to watch their favorite team only for the team to loss.We beg you to make us happy in the remaining matches

  • We have gud players who can deliver even when Calabar is absent. The only preblem is that some players think they’re more Gor than the others & they try to sabotage others who r trying to give their best. I understand that they r trying to avoid feeding Sserunkuma with balls to score and if u watch the replay of Gor matches u will understand what am saying. If they give Sserunkuma any pass it will be an aerial ball which he can only strugle to control. It is now BW to remind the players that they’r playing

  • 4r Gor Mahia & not 4r themselves. If gor wins it is all players who have won & not only the goal scorer. Bw also shud change his tactics. The team is currently not playing well & if they continue playing that way then I dont think that they can score more than 2 goals in a match.

I like Ombishe @1 any team underrating Kogalo at this stage had better think twice. Its true players like Blackberry, Rama are yet to peak and when they do they should not be blamed for destroying opponents at will. That will certainly be and not too far in the future. Watch this space. SPONSORS? Please lets leave that to EC as they have said elsewhere.

jathur@10…would you blame any team for underrating us?with the kind of football we are playing at the moment, any team can come with confidence and get points off us!!

@Oswozo moziek remember TOP FRY and BANDARI had not won any of their previous fixture before meeting K’Ogalo. The same scenario will repeat when we play KCB who are yet to register a win. It is a matter of wait and see; than the wishful thinking and chest thumping then when so and so will hit form then……!

KCB is simply plotting on how to bag the 3 points in style.!!! While BW is banking on LUCK and not TACTICS.

Oswozo,OT what is yours is yours,if you know what I mean; kwani how badly are we playing? This football thing is round and I can see that most of us just see what they want to see, the negatives. Do you mean there has been nothing good about the way the team played in the last 4 games? Hitting the post on several occasions(3 TIMES IN TUSKER GAME for instance) and when the coach says bad lack we want him to go,go where? Chelsea were the other day beaten by Crystal Palace,Barca and Messi were beaten,Real Madrid and CR7 have been beaten,Man U and Rooney aren’t playing too badly yet they are being beating left, right, and centre, Arsenal with all those stars have been beaten by more than five goals on two occasions.Remember there is no lesser team in this TPL any team can beat the other any time. The fact that they had never won ang game before is not an issue, they were to win at some time which unfortunately came against us. What is the beef about so fast my brothers? Hold your horses

@Jathur gi ji You have a very valid point and true to your words “What is yours is yours” [Giri giri] however bad it is.
And that is why some of us are a little bit cautious not be over confident based on the current performance trend. It is matter of WAIT and SEE what will happen other than building castles in the air and wishful thinking that we will run over our opponents. That is @Oswozo is looking on the opposite direction and informing you that our opponents are more confident and assured of beating us because they plot on how to exploit our weak points tactically.

@Jathur gi ji in football matches what counts is the number of goals scored.. PERIOD!!! The rest are but mere statistics even if you hit the post a million times, it will remain a million shots OFF/ON target but no goal scored. And this is my beef with BW. What measure is he putting in place to correct the poor FINISHING syndrome. He should know that the back stops with him as the head of TB.He MUST reverse the worrying trend and tell his boys to make us happy by winning.

Guys if you have cared to notice kizito/walusimbi rarely purah or result to long balls they are so comfortable with the ball and more than often able to locate the other easily. It is such an irony that a coach who prefers long balls could prefer these kind of players in his team,i strongly believe majority of the players do not have self belief in them.On matters of finishing obwoge,BB,oboya,ss,kevo have all been given a chance and still you guys blame the coach. If you ask me the so called xpros have been a real let down so far, these guys should by now be the source of inspiration to the team–lakini mambo ni oooh coach.,coach is telling them how to mis’pass, mis’control, play long ball, don’t make runs etc..etc

@Levelmind you got it right. Walusimbi and Kizito despite the pressure will never aimlessly kick the ball in front. Players have to decide when to huff the ball in front or play short balls. Never seen a coach scolding you for a short accurate pass to the most available and dangerous player. @OGANGO TRAILER says the thing that matters ins a win. PERIOD. yet some gor fans are complaining of not being entertained. So confusing to the players
