Philemon sees red as Kenya trounced by Senegal

Philemon Otieno regained his place in the starting line-up. Francis Kahata started on the bench but came on in the second half as coach Migne tried to inject some attacking impetus.

But it was all for nought as Senegal proved that they are a class above Kenya, winning 3-0.

Philemon Otieno had a nightmarish game. Two rash challenges so him cautioned twice and therefore sent off. It was similar to the yellow he got in the first game. It invalidated all the other solid work he had done.

For a long period in the first half, it seemed Kenya was going to match Senegal as they strung together a series of passes, though they still did not manage a shot on goal in the first half. Johana Omollo in particular was useful when it came to connecting passing movements due to his ability to hold onto the ball under pressure.

Kenya defended stoutly in the first half. But they also have goalkeeper Matasi to thank. He made a number of daring saves including a penalty from Sadio Mane.

But Kenya soon ran out of steam. Started to give the ball away cheaply and unable to withstand the Senegal pressure, they started to boot the ball foreward to lone striker Olunga. This was futile because Olunga was always surrounded by two world class central defenders with no other attacker in sight.

Ayub Masika was to support Olunga. He tried to make incisive runs using his speed. Whereas he can outrun people in the Chinese league, he found the speedy Senegalese to be a different kettle of fish.

Wanyama was average. Dennis Odhiambo had Kenya’s first shot on goal when he latched onto a rebound. His goalbound shot was parried by the goalkeeper.

Former Gor Mahia players:

Eric Ouma often tried to outrun the Senegalese which is not a sound strategy because the Senegalese have always been fast and were able to match him unlike the Tanzanians.

Musa Mohamed played a key role in bottling Mane for much of the game. But he was finally beaten to the ball by the Liverpool striker for Senegal’s second goal.

Michael Olunga struggled as a lone striker as he was not getting any passes in scoring position. Basicallyu Harambee stars created hardly any chances

The first half reduced Mane to an ordinary player. Our boys had a good fight and gave Senegalese a run for their money. This boy Matasi really sold himself to potential suitors by making crucial saves.Congrats Harambee stars.

  • Don’t distract us from the on going scandals and drama in Got. What is going on with new signings and have the culprits of corruption getting commissions from new recruits left the club? Jasego come out authoritatively on this. Ongea.

I humbly request admin to bring on top the bribe story so that we ventilate on it fully. Wacha hii ya Philemon and Harambee Stars. I am shocked but not surprised. These allegations have been made before but swept under the carpet. Not this time, punda amechoka. These greedy officials must be ran out of town, by whatever means and immediately. Let this not be just talk. Let there be action, serious action.

Sad, admin please keep the bribe story on top so that we ventilate fully. These greedy officials must be ran out of this town quickly. It is a shame, real shame how low these people have gone. So to them it is their stomachs first, team after. So in that case even the head coach has very little say on who is signed in to the team and that is how we end up with dubious characters in the team. THESE PEOPLE MUST GO, like yesterday not tomorrow. Let us hear more.

If this was Europe the officials wpyld have resigned or stepped aside till their names are cleared but this is Kenya. I have never liked Nuangi but maybe she could shed some light on this with her take-no-prisoners-approach. Unfortunately for us @Jasego is also an agent. I remember him telling us how he got us Guikan. What i know is that he has not been mentioned amongst the cartels. i am sure he will tell us more at the opportune time. Who is the team PR to deny deny deny these accusations. Has anybody ever sèen or heard the Simba PR/CR, Manara talk about his team. He leaves no doubt about what he means. Here Aduda is denying us signing yet was in Kigali for the same player over the weekend. These are like the late Kamotho’s (RIP) olden tactics in the 21st Century

  • @Dan Original , do you remember when Gor had a game in kisumu and there was a huge turnout yet the money realised was a pittance , on that day somebody was arrested selling fake tickets and non other than Sally Bolo interceded on his behalf giving a blasphemous/casual reason that the accused was related to some official (what a reason ) , inadvertently what she was saying was that the accused was doing that on behalf of an official , when that happened we insulted and said all manner of things , but the bottom line is that as we speak , the said official /s are still in office , doing the same same ,meaning that the insult route failed and hence a change in approach is urgently warranted and hence the approach I suggested in my previous post .
There is a belief amongst these hyenas that they will do what they do , we will scream , insult and then we will move on and this must stop .
However we must appreciate the fact that there is a difference between a scout and an agent , the former acts on behalf of the club and the latter acts on behalf of the player , you cannot be both.
Lastly @Dan Original , it could be as well that Aduda was in Rwanda but again , just like in the Otanga case , they may have disagreed on the officials commision/bribe/extortion and this brings as to the point that as we go into the oncoming elections , we have to and must choose officials who have prooved in their previous lives that they can successfully run a business , are concerned about their image , do not need anything monetary from Gor and are in it only to serve and give back to the community , my previous suggestion and choosing the right people must run concurrently , for it is only then that we can have a short , mid and long term solution .
This issue must not be allowed to die .

I have through the years promised you many Superb Foreign signings but went ahead to fail to secure them and came back here to lament on frustrations by Aduda…Sally Bolo and Cartels but some became glad and said Jasego has no real power to do anything led by Fred Odhiambo who Caregorically stated that only 3 insiders can do any transfers in GM. Well he was referring to the perennial Conman Aduda CEO, Sally Bolo and Jolawi together with Stephen Ochiel aka Steve from Kisumu who brokers all dealings regarding players from Nyanza as he is their Superimposed Agent of commission kickbacks. Steve Ochiel has been a thorn in my flesh and they managed together with Aduda and Sally and Jolawi to convince Head Coach of useless foreign signings like Mustafa and Ssekisambu much to my Chagrin and detriment of GM. I have been forced to go silent on my transfer dealings since whenever they get wind of them it is an all out War to ensure I fail in my plans. I tried Signing a Ugandan Striker Nelson Ssenkatuka from Bright Stars FC they came in, Charles Edoa Nga a Camerounian from Black Leopards FC Botswana they came in, Djabel Imanishimwe now here they are Frustrating the move. I already flew in a Camerounian striker yesterday who is now doing trials with the team at camp toyoyo. I fought them and Solomon Alubala Wazito FC Sporting Director and managed to convince Shakava to stay-on i will better his package and he has agreed he is still Captain till end of his contract. I am currently fighting mercilessly to release Ssekisambu and Mustafa and for this even threats have been issued to me but I will Soldier on unperturbed. Derrick Otanga has revealed what they did and the same happened in the deal of Farouk Shikalo. This people dont care about GM just kickbacks and conmanship. AR co-opted me to help him manage the TB which had gone rogue because of these cartel individuals and their accomplices. I will continue the fight till I succeed for now let me go to Rwanda and try salvage the Imanishimwe signing that they want to inflate and eat. I am tired comrades but will fight to the end. Not a club that is associated with Jakom. When in other spheres we are leading in anti corruption crusade then chietha chietha is demanding for pocket money and kick backs to players. We must handle this issue like yesterday. Rachier wake up.

We need fresh blood in the team and competition to achieve 5 new players are they squad players or impact players our priority and how we conduct our business should be aligned otherwise we might just be contended with confed quarters and the premier league otherwise their is no intention what so ever of making the squad better

Apparently Djabel has joined APR from Gor Mahia. Bwana Chairman, what does the new constitution say about this kind of circus? Who is using the club papers for such dealings?

Let me hope what are all over social media are simply rumours. Otherwise, we may be shooting ourselves in the foot.

Of course the so called chairman will come out to address the media using big vocabulary when the damage will have already been done.Is he also a partner in crime? Sempala has requested to be released due to unpaid sign on fee. Gormahia is stinking with corruption and mismanagement with every tom dick and hurry claiming to be an agent while in real sense they want to loot. This club urgently needs radical surgery to weed out all the incompetence and armophity. Those with evidence should visit DCI offices instead of turning into crying babies. We the fans will always be ready with stones if a culprit is exposed and cornered.
