Polack: Gor Mahia must improve

Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack is satisfied with the victory over Bandari but was not happy with the display of the team.

“I know we won the trophy but it was not the kind of display I would have liked from my boys. We were much better in the second half and it was also good for my players to play with the ball most of the time, ” he told goal.com

Polack lauded his side for their fighting spirit after being reduced to 10 men

Definitely I am happy with the result because we have our first trophy of the season, I am also happy with the attitude of my players especially after we went down to 10 men in the second half.” he continued.

The British coach understands that he has his work cut out as they prepare to play in the return leg of the Africa Champions League preliminary round,

“I know the team will keep getting better and I want the players to understand my philosophy going forward, it is something we are working on already and we must get it right starting our next match.”

Polack noted that despite going a man down, Gor Mahia continued to be the better side.

We are developing steadily and remember even after he [Tobias Otieno] was sent off for the tackle, the team remained solid in all areas and they even kept pushing for the second goal which was a good show from my side.”

His colleague on the Bandari side, Bernard Mwalala says that Gor Mahia goalkeeper David Mapigano wasted 20 minutes.

“The match was played, I think for only 70 minutes, and then the goalkeeper [Mapigano] started wasting time especially after they scored. I am not saying this is the biggest reason why Bandari lost but the goalkeeper’s antics contributed a lot.” Mwalala told reporters after the match.

Mwalala also thinks his side were better

“My players did what I wanted of them and I think we deserved a win given we were the better team overall,”

J’Asego don’t celebrate just yet. The mind that is determined to do evil will never fail to re-invent new wheels of evil. While this e-ticketing is a laudable move, nothing will stop the perpetual free entrants from taking a photo of the printed copy and reprinting it unless perhaps somehow it is organised in such a way that it is more expensive to print a fake e-ticket than to pay 200/- and get a genuine one.

I wish this e-ticketing could be made to go hand-in-hand with e-registration as members of Gor Mahia.

It is now great to have e-ticketing in place. I appeal to the administrators to remain beyond reproach and temptations as this will be the best way ti increase gate collection revenues through match attendance.

I do now vow that I will be buying my ticket of Kshs.500 for all our home matches (translating into Kshs.8,500 for 17 home matches) even if I will not be attending the home games.

I am still very much concern why Gor Mahia club official Judith Nyangi should be allowed to wear Simba SC’s replica jersey during the official Super-Cup trophy presentation after Gor Mahia 1-0 won over Bandari at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos????

Why was this allowed to happen and where are the security staffs of the club??? In any modern world, an official of the club should not be allowed to wear other competitors’ replica jersey as this will be construed as marketing brands of other rival competitors in Gor Mahia official functions. It is not morally correct as the action is unethical to torment any creature for entertainment of our Gor Mahia brand.

The action of Judith Nyangi as an official of Gor Mahia should be condemned by all Gor Mahia fans and supporters. Nyangi’s intended action is immoral, amoral, unprincipled, unscrupulous, dishonourable, wrong, dishonest, deceitful, disreputable, unconscionable, fraudulent, dirty, unfair, underhand, devious, slippery, bad, wicked, evil, iniquitous, corrupt, depraved, villainous; unprofessional, improper, unseemly, unworthy, negligent and in this regard it is unethical to market a brand of other clubs in our midst as it has harmed our fans and supporters.

In my opinion that Judith Nyangi should be forced to quit Gor Mahia official duties now so that she can have more time to market other club’s merchandises elsewhere. Why should this be allowed to happen in the full view of the media? Where are lawyers to institute legal action against this wayward official?
