Rachier and Aduda discuss finances

Ambrose Rachier announced that the cooperative society for Gor Mahia has been registered with the cooperatives society and will be launched on December 28, 2014

CEO Ludovick Aduda accused sponsors of discriminating against Gor Mahia because it is associated with opposition leader Raila Odinga. According to him, a board member questioned the club’s relationship with ODM

The report also suggests that Gor Mahia are pursuing a striker from Burkina Faso as well as Khalid Aucho and Farouk Sserntongo

Divisions within the EC

A report in michezoafrika suggests that Chris Omondi’s decision to resign was due to divisions within the EC, blatant disregard by his colleagues to instill professionalism in the team, set in place   youth structures as well as lack of ambition in the ongoing transfer market.

Apparently Omondi was restless  because despite a mammoth continental task awaiting them early next year- K’Ogalo is still over the moon- celebrating the league title and is yet to sign any player.

“Whereas Omondi advocated for investment in youth structures to act as club’s conveyor belt, the right- leaning wing at the club had stood for the “old school quick fix mentality”- basing their belief in signing established players on short term deals as the cycle continues.”

Omondi wanted the club to sign promising youthful defender in the mould of Charles Odette who has since been nabbed by Posta Rangers ahead of the rigorous continental campaign, some of his colleagues rooted for veteran Tusker defender Joackins Atudo.

Since Omondi resigned, the right leaning members of the executive that wields immense powers at the club have been meeting while sidelining others.

“Since he (Chris Omondi) resigned, some officials have been meeting while others are never invited at all in the meetings which is shocking to us,”

It is emerging that Chief Executive Ludovick Aduda and deputy secretary general Amina Ferrari are those that have been given cold shoulder while Omondi since his resignation has not been summoned to any of the meetings so far held to state his position.

lets not blame anybody for the gone sponsorship and prospective sponsors developing cold feet gentlemen.
Aduda just confessed that when they were sourcing for a sponsor, in the meetings they were asked what association Gor Mahia has with Raila -politics. THat sums it all , and we can understand why no one wants his company to be associated to Gor. We definately now know why tuzo pulled out, and we also know why other sponsors are not forth coming-Railaphobia!… According to Aduda thats why they have been loosing sponsors. So guys do we send Raila packing so that we get these money? Thats the question

    SIASA MBAYA, MAISHA MBAYA !!!

    3. EC watuambie wako na pesa ngapi kusajili wachezaji wazuri mwaka huu hau sivyo tung’ang’ane na vijana wetu cipukizi under 19 . 12 million shillings imekulwa yote !!1

@pascal i dont blve u belong here so just take ur stupid comment somewhere else GOR has never been tribal and will not be tribal, when other teams recruit players on a tribal platform GOR have always recruited players all over the country and east africa for that matter so,it does not become tribal bcoz they are drawing much of their support from one region so before u waste ur time writing nonsense get ur facts right ok.

I have to trust Omondi a100 percent. this bloated EC has nothing to offer to the club. they are still on a begging mission while Omondi was vouching for professionalism. and for Rao, let’s forget a bout this man. he is not for development. his association with the club has made it poorer. let’s de link the club affairs with politics. and for Omondi, just take a rest. u will be back one day to lead this great club. blessed

In my view it all boils down to ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY WHICH EC TOTALLY LACKS.

SORRY BUT EC HAS NO STRUCTURES/RECORDS AND OPERATES IN AN OPAQUE MANNER AND IS NOW JUST PASSING THE BUCK.

NO SPONSOR WANTS TO GET INVOLVED WITH SUCH AN ORGANIZATION.

AS MUCH AS JAKOM AR/EC HAS MADE COMMENDABLE ACHIEVEMENTS BY WINNING TPL AND GOTV CUPS HE HAS FAILED TO SEIZE THE MOMENT AND OPPORTUNITIES TO TAKE GM TO THE NEXT LEVEL. NOW THE BUBBLE HAS BURST.
    SOME POINTERS:
    1) THE KRA SAGA WAS PURELY DUE TO POOR STRUCTURES & LACK OF PROPER RECORDS & ACCOUNTS.
    2) WHEN YOU ANNOUNCE THAT YOUR GATE COLLECTIONS (2013 SEASON) IS KSHS.9M AND FOLLOW IT UP WITH ONLY 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS (FOR 2 MATCHES IN 2014) THAT COLLECTIONS WERE KSHS.600,000 PER MATCH WHO ARE YOU FOOLING!
    CERTAINLY NOT POTENTIAL SPONSORS?

SPONSORS ARE NOT FOOLS THEY SEE THE CROWDS AT GM MATCHES AND WONDER WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
SPONSORS ASK IF WE GIVE GOR MAHIA OUR MONEY (SPONSORSHIP) WON’T IT ALSO BE “EATEN”?
EC CANNOT GIVE GUARANTEES THAT SPONSORSHIP MONEY WON’T BE “EATEN” COZ “HALLO THEY HAVE NOT RECORDS”
THAT’S WHY TUZO PEGGED ITS SPONSORSHIP/MONEY TO PLAYERS SALARIES.

CASE IN POINT NOVEMBER SALARIES NOT PAID AFTER FUNDING RAISING OF KSHS.12M. OF COURSE SPONSORS WILL WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS MONEY.
SERIOUS SPONSORS WILL FROWN AT HOW AND ORGANIZATION CAN DELAY IT EMPLOYEES REMUNERATION “WHEN IT HAS THE FUNDS”

IT COULD BE A PERCEPTION HOWEVER WRONG BUT MAYBE JUST MAYBE SPONSORS THINK THAT ITS GOR MAHIA THAT IS FUNDING THE RAILA POLITICAL MACHINE.
ONLY TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY CAN ERASE THIS PERCEPTION AND THAT MANDATE FALLS ENTIRELY ON THE EC.

CAN’T WAIT FOR THE GM SACCO. I HOPE IT WILL OWN GMFC 100%.
IN FACT IT HAS TO OWN GMFC 100% NO HANKY PANKY SHORTCUTS / TRICKS.

@jimmy(7)from ur comment above its like u dont know the history of this club the person now u r saying is not development conscious is the same person who has kept this club afloat all this years, the problem is that some of us when they give any support 2 the club they want it to be known all over the world, make it a big news on both print,tv and radio for the world to know he has given some assistance to the club, let me just refresh ur mind RAO u r saying is anti development is the same person who saved this club when we had been relegated, when we were having financial problem he was the only person and John Pesa who could save the club when we could not even pay the players, where were all the so called development conscious that u r now making noise about were they not yet born? were they not working in senior positions in this country? please LETS GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE,lets learn to appreciate.

@ Erico Jarae, thanks a lot for reminding me how Rao used make the club a float. that was many years back. what we are asking for now is the sustainability of the club for now and in future. remember, just few years ago he was a big personality in this country. he could have sourced for the best sponsors around. but since he views it as a political toy, he did none.

I think this is a big moment for the club to do what they are supposed to do. That is to get their actions right. On SG resigning we cannot fully think that he is right. He could also have been wrong in the way he was handling some issues. All the same all is not lost

CEO Aduda: How do you bite the hand that feeds? So now the fans will realize how poor they are. I once commented here on how hooliganism will affect Gor. Gor club is not tribal but they crowd that supports it is tribal and thats an argument for another day.
    1. Raila uses Gor to reach his politcal ends. Several times we have seen Gor matches being used to market ODM. So Mr Aduda your being quite naive if you expect money from anyone supporting TNA.
    2. EC has totally failed in preaching to it’s fans against non-violence. And here I am not talking about one statement on the press blaming the police. I am talking about calling the fans to a meeting and talking to them. These fans are simply to thick to know the nature of their ways. You now realise that the most likely sponsorhsip will come from TNA side coz they are the ones who own the business Gor fans vent their ‘stones’ on.

    Now Gor has only two weapons I can consider viable;
    1. Sponsorship: This is the most viable of sources.
    2. Gate collection.
Both cases have been weakened by fans.
The other sources of incomes can only support these two but will never by themselves carry Gor far.
350100, Sacco , Fans bloggers and Harambees income all fall in this group.
    These are my reasons;
-These are usually ideas that are categorised as KNEE JACK. They are all reactionary and not well thought of. The come by the dozen then fizzle into low impact ideas that basically take the club nowhere.
    – these channels can only be supported by the dedicated Gor fan who for a fact are very few. Do not be fooled by the thousands who run across the streets or the purported 1 Million fans.
    – Majority of Gor fans are low income earners. A quick study can be deduced simply by looking at how many of them actually wear the REAL Gor sponsored shirt during matches.
    – There is no major industry owned by these fans(read Luos) that can be influenced(apart from Raila) to sponsor Gor.
    Conclusion:
A warrior looks at the weapons he has at his disposal and uses them to the fullest of their capability.
Gor has two weapons. Use them.
    However these two weapons are not panacea by themselves, they need the following ingredients;
strategy, honesty, accountability, civility, planning etc.
These are the ingredients lucking in Gor.

@ Dinga, your views reflect the reality on the ground….honestly some people have been advocating for real Madrid model, Barcelona model, Bayern munich model yet the ‘real’ gor mahia fan lives in shacks, cannot afford even a meal a day and wears a gor mahia replica jersey bought at kshs 200.00.

Surely , for this club to move forward as much as we point figures at the EC , EVERYTHING ELSE WILL FAIL UNTILL we mobilise the caliber of fans that can take us places !! call me all the names you want BUT that is the REALITY , THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.

The problem has been poor leadership from the top.
They have used the same hooligans to perpetuate their sustained overstay at the top leadership.
As have been pointed up here, the same youths are on their pay roll for the daily bread.

To me the whole EC should have thrown in the towel. I am yet to be convinced that TUZO pulled out for any other reason but for lack of accountability laid bare by the KRA in their claims..what more do we need to know if a financial accounts reports 9 million Shillings?

The only problem we have at K’ogalo is leadership. from top, they must just deploy old mentality to keep themselves in that office for their own purposes.

But i beg to sincerely plead with those badmouthing RAO to accept that the man has earned his respect for very many things he’s done for the society including huge contributions for GM. Alot of us will not know where the cash for recruiting players usually come from. Its also good to give respect to the elders no matter what.

Guys have always chest thumped here on how they can sponsor the team without so and so and this and that organization only to duck when the time of reckoning comes.

Its unfortunate Rao is being associated with this club for political reasons.
This will only discourage potential sponsors

Just fire the whole EC guys. Let’s have an EC with only 5 members plus a proper CEO who knows about football and is from a marketing background. Not these chaps who cooperate to loot the funds. Wait until they circulate the financial statements (if they do so) and you will be told gate collection was Kshs 9m

As usual we are being emotional even in our responses. @Dinga has actually said the things that ail our club. The issue is, are we as followers so THICK that we cannot see that our behaviours are hurting the club? Do we need to be called for a meeting for this message to sink home? What if we start behaving the ODM way during that meeting? The only way forward is to make this club have its owners. This can be through the SACCO or membership. Not everyone who goes to TM stature after a win is a Gor fan. Just like the Zamaleks and Al Ahli or even El Meriekh and locally Sofapaka we must make it a club owned by the fans. Even if we have 5,000 fans but those who know the value of having a well-run club so be it. Paying 100 bob for membership then causing mayhem during elections and other fora will not take us anywhere.
I think the club now needs elders who can help it reach the commercial centre or Corporate boardrooms of this country. I have in mind people like Governor Kidero, the Marketing Director of Safcom Lady Othoro, Governor Cyprian Awiti etc. Note that I have left out the PM for reasons we all know. In the current EC only John Pesa and AR can join this group.

I see two parallels. One that heaps all the problems on the executive and the second one that sees challenges as inevitable.Probably striking the balance is the biggest challenge we have. Gor is club that has history just like any other big club has.One thing for sure is that at one point they had the biggest challenge that is money.Back in the day when Gor was at its best in Africa, Financial demand was not an issue. So fans never really felt it. However now that things have changed, let us accept it. Then we can begin to ask ourselves on the way forward. For example does Gor have enough paying supporters who go through the gates consistently? And how many games does the team play in one month. In that way we can budget at least. Secondly how much does a good player cost? Assumable, 300,000.00 x 25 players =75000000.00 Without sponsors can we support this? How much would we need to pay at the gate? May in this way then we could be attractive. but let that be a secondary thing. I am just trying to crack my mind regarding our situations.

Is someone trying to tell us that we should do away with RAO and be associated with TNA in order to get sponsorship? We will not sell our birthright for a bowl of soup! And remember that philanthropy doesn’t mean giving alms in public, RAO has done more for this club than those bhang smokers you’re routing for, ujinga mpeleke mbali, mafala nyinyi!
