Rachier expresses concern over poor performance

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier is finally speaking out on the club’s recent poor performance in the 2016 Kenya Premier League. Since the second leg started, Gor Mahia have won two and drawn five. And the two wins were unimpressive. The midfield appears dysfunctional and the pair of Kagere and Tuyisenge have yet to form an effective partnership. To make matters worse, teams approach Gor Mahia with the sole intent of getting a draw and coach Ze Maria has not yet found a formula to remove the bus from its parking spot.

Chairman Rachier says he is discussing the poor performance with the team
“It is a matter of concern for me. Last Sunday I met the technical bench and the playing unit to inquire what could be the problem and they said they are going to do soul searching to find out why they are not winning. I left it to them to deal with the issue before the next match.” said Rachier According to Yahoo sports.

Some fans will hold Rachier accountable since it is he who was eager to jettison Frank Nuttall despite his excellent performance in 2015 and despite the fact that with the Sportpesa sponsorship, it would have been possible to maintain Nuttall’s salary.

But Gor Mahia’s woes go much deeper than Nuttall’s departure. The team has lost key players like Michael Olunga, Khalid Aucho and Ali Abondo. While Collins Okoth Gattuso is back to his bad old days.

Coach Ze Maria speaking on Gattuso said that the player is self centred and has refused to participate in the team concept:

“If He does not want to be a team player then I will utilize the other 27 players I have on the squad”.  said Ze Maria.

  • No , no , no , …we don’t need to discuss nutall at this stage nor this moment of time.the politician did his job and he is gone..good riddance !

BW success rate – 63 percent
Nutall success rate – 77 percent
Ze Maria success rate – 84 percent .

Let’s us not forget ze maria currently holds the best coaching record or success rate for the club ever.

Let us talk or argue with facts and give the man Ze Maria till end of the season

Jakoyo, shame on you with your cooked statistics. Have you considered the number of games each coach played. Now that you think you have your statistics right, now lets factor in trend analysis and going by the current trend of results, ceteris paribus what is the probability the probability that the sucecess rate of Ze Maria will not be less than 60% at the end of the season.

As fans, I think we should stand with the coach in this Gattuso matter. I wonder why the chairman had to wait for 5 draws to realize that things are not ok with the team. The game against Thika was a clear indicator of a bad start. He should have moved soon after the second game.

I think AR knows clearly knows what is ailing the team and it is within his reach to sort it out instead of leaving it to the players and TB. Coach Ze Maria is AR’s favourite and to help him out of this crisis, he should let Ze Maria know that this is football; this is Africa; this is Kenya; this is Gor Mahia and therefore Luo kitgi gi timbegi. This therefore means that coach Ze Maria must keep Tom Ogweno within his inner cabinet of the Tech Bench. Once this is done, things will get back to normal.

Spot On BB, but in the same breath me i am for a complete ceasefire that will see Gattuso rejoin the starting 11, Not to mean i condone indiscipline or am holding fort for saboteurs or anything but owing to the fact that he is the best we’ve got at the moment in that role and his continued absence is hurting the team. We can co-exist to salvage our beloved team then take stock at the end of the season and those who need to go can be released but sticking to hardlines or ultimatums at this point is not what GM needs, even i do not see eye to eye with many i work with but for the good-love of the team we co-exist and try do what’s best for the Team. Wendo tries but just can’t match Gattuso’s speed & agility in transforming defence into attack,he plays the conduit transition role impeccably well and that’s what is lacking totally in the team right now…

On Gattuso I support Ze Maria but I also then Sandro should also be kicked out. I also fully concur with Moses let the headcoach select his technical bench. In fact desperate time like these call for DESPERATE MEASURES GIVE ZE MARIA FULL CONTROL (WILL HE LET SANDRO GO) WITH THE CONDITION THAT HE MUST WIN THE LEAGUE PLUS EITHER GOTV/TOP 8. ANYTHING LESS ANENDE

The solution Mr. chairman Ambrose Rachier is to fire Ogweno and Jolawi Obondo from the technical bench and bring on board any of the former committed players like Tobias Ochola Jua Kali or Austin Oduor Makamu.

Gor Mahia needs a level headed TM but not the current brokers who are even winning with the opponents. The two people in the technical bench are the main reason wh we are not performing due to selffish and narro parochial interests. I still do not understand why we are still maintaining the two guys that could have gone long time ago.

We also need a change on our tactical acumen as the coach Ze Maria only knows one style and formation of play. Ze Maria tactical knowledge in football is wanting and I do not think he is adding any value to the team.

    • Jamigori you seem misarably obsessed by calling Jolawi and Ogweno’ s names. Obviously you are clueless of what is ailing this soccer club lately-besides a few technical areas-just a little pep talk, a little motivation from the top, a little reminder about professionalism….. Malicious name calling is not the remedy, teamwork and uplifting each other and the team will still carry the day. It shall be well..

Clueless and useless Japien or jajuok or jachien as you name sounds. I will continue to repeat that the problem in Gor Mahia are these two useless technical bench members.

We might not like Ze Maria but there s one thing he said about Kagere. ‘It is always hard to replicate last time’s performance when things have changed’. We can all see what is happening. Same thing would happen to FN were he to come back. Lots of things have changed since he was here and there is no guarantee that he would do here what he couldn’t do in Cairo. As Ja’Asego says let’s support the team, including the coach and take stock at the end of the year. Surely some thing was bound to come on our path to a fourth consecutive title but how we maneuver through that something is what will determine our championship credentials. At times a little patience or pain is necessary for us to realize our goals

I humbly ask, yes fans agitated for Luanda Magere to be signed but who actually signed him Ze Maria or Rachier! Remember Loga rejected Waiganjo and his decision was final coz he knew the BUCK STOPS WITH THE HEADCOACH. As you reason keep in mind Engineer has started scoring. My friend a striker can start hitting the goals at any time, only blame a striker when he misses clear chances. You forget in a club the headcoach is the agent of change. He can change the system of play and even the players so as to win.

    • @Dan Original. I like your level of maturity. Even though you may not be on the same side with some of us on a particular issue, you always articulate your issues in a very acceptable way. Keep it up. But hapo kwa FN you understand our frustrations. At least Kagere had his own demands but FN was obviously frustrated and all Gor supporters could see it.

Don’t be hoodwinked by the “masters of deceit”. FIFA finally saw the light and kicked out Sepp Blatter, FKF did the same with Sam Nyamweya. These institutions did not collapse! Gor Mahians don’t be fooled Rachier must be feeling the heat. AR IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS ZE MARIA IS BUT A MERE SYMPTOM. He has moles everywhere amongst the players, TB, bloated EC. Gor Mahia can lift a continental title in the next 3 years if the club can disentangle itself from the stagnant, opaque and divide & rule administration of AR.

So the chairman gave the players time to soul search and find a solution to the problem bedevilling the club funny it seems thats a hands off chairman. He was hands-on when Ze Maria was bringing fitness trainer and assistant coach why not now.

AFC Leopard send parking the coach who developed the team that nobody thought of beating Gor mahia at beginning of the season, this was the beginning of worse performance despite elections. In our case, problem is in the TB. The two Luos in TB are out to kill the TEAM. Let’s us support the team to the end and never forget the advice of our patron, “wait until the end of the season and have elections” to Weed the weeds in helm of leadership of Gor mahia

Jolawi and Ogweno have been there and we have been champions three times so I dont think they are the problem. As for Gatusso he must respect the coach but a cost-benefit analysis tells me we stand to profit more by bringing him back now then send him packing at the end of the season. Somebody mentions Kagere misfiring but I think since he came back he has scored one goal more than any other Gor striker,Tuyisenge included.

Believe me for now and if not tell me y Rachier decided to let the TB and players to solve the problem. The internal discrimination which affect the team. I will say more later
