Rachier lauds his role in rebuilding Kogalo

Chairman Ambrose Rachier who is running for the position of FKL chairman talked up his record in rebuilding the club from the moribund state it was under Erastus Okul to its current far improved situation.

“I have been involved in football since 2002 when I was a consultant in the Fifa normalisation committee and my input brought a number of football reforms. I have also been at Gor Mahia for four years and with the support of my team, the difference is clearly being seen at the club now.

At least I am leading a club of Gor’s magnitude and believe that I’m better off than people claiming that leading a club is different from leading a federation. None of the other contestants lead a serious club if they have any,” said Rachier.

He said: “When I was elected Gor Mahia chairman four years ago, the team was languishing in position 16 of the table and they have improved to runners-up position last season. We have drastically improved the gate collections as it never used to go beyond Sh8,000 when I took over the club but recently during our match with AFC Leopards we realised Sh5.6million. This clearly shows how we have transformed the club and I will do the same for Harambee Stars and ensure they improve in ranking if given the chance to run the federation.”

Rachier is also credited for earning the club its first major sponsorship deal since the club was formed in 1968, a two year deal from dairy company Tuzo worth Sh38 million as well as ensuring the team owns its own bus.

“I have ensured that the club has its own offices at the Nyayo Stadium unlike in the past when clubs matters were dealt with in private offices. The accounting system is also transparent at the moment and all these would translate in the national office if I am the head of the federation,” said Rachier.

All this comes at a time when the club is facing its worst run of form in 3 years that has seen it fail to win a league match in 5 attempts.

  • Well said Chairman. All we ask for is for you now to provide us with the leadership. Currently some of your Execs are pulling on the opposite direction, fans are divided on so many issues, the technical bench and playing unit might not be as cohesive as required and many other challenges. We now need to cool down our tempers, reason together and go for glory in the remaining matches. All is not lost though our nearest rivals are pulling apart. Let’s not burn our hut to the ground with all of us inside but rebuild/patch up the gaping holes

mr.chairman y cant you just resign and concentrate on the kff/fkl elections ,then let zico also choose between gor and h/stars.this divided loyalty is costing us a great deal!.the crisis at gor may end up undoing evrything you claim to have done for the team.

Admin, it appears you now have an anti-Rachier Agenda. Kindly dont mistake our criticism of the Head Coach and Officials to mean we support that unholy alliance of Tom Ataro, Nick Arum and Mohamed Hatimy. If you ask me they are far worse than Rachier. Aren’t they the ones who notoriously print fake tickets?

In my opinion you should choose your alliances wisely.

The current CHAIR has done his part, by going with this article he transformed from pocket to mouth to atleast something to reckon with.for example,he avail his own law firm office to run club affairs till recently when the club got office at Nyayo Stadium as long as we throw words to him please let remember where the club has come from when we were bad off.Secondly there are some officials whom just talk to be heard what have they done for the club not that am supporter of chair but for my club whether A.D.O.R is there or not, Mighty Kogalo will still move on.Hope when election comes next year we have to elect people with vision for the club.Otherwise I hope the club will do well in the remaining matches.I stand corrected.

Ataro and Company let me call u REBELS.Do a honour thing JUST resign the club will still move on with or without you.I think the next election due in January, all aspirants should get CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT and INCOME TAX RETURNS so as we get serious officials for the club.

Let all the officials now tell us what they have done for the club for us to decide who to support. At least we have seen what the chair has done. Let them also tell us who printed fake tickets for one of the matches. Who knows this could be an everyday occurence. Let’s also be told which official is behind the merchandise sales. How much of the Tuzo money has been remitted and how has it been used? With this we will know whether the pot is calling the kettle black.

“ITS TIME TO HANDLE KO-GALO LIKE NA EGG OTHERWISE IT MIGHT FALL DOWN AND BREAK INTO PIECES FOR GOOD”

“ADMIN” PLEASE STOP JUGGLING OUR MIND WITH A.D.O.R
ASPIRATIONS WHICH ARE WITHIN HIS RIGHTS.

@4 omondiomollo i truly agree with your sentiments, The Admin should stop his “cut and paste” stories from other media so as to create a non-issue out of it.

If you read yesterday’s “SUNDAY STANDARD” on page 47 of the Fever-Pitch sports news by JAMES WAINDI entitled “RACHIER’S MISSION” then you will realize that this is what we call “copy-paste” journalism and taking advantage of tribulations within GOR MAHIA to create more confusion and hatred.

I have a lot of concern with the way the story has been picked from very a positive angle from the other media and summed up with contrasting view about A.D.O.R.

Personally i agree A.D.O.R has what it takes to drive GOR forward if only he could spare sometime to put our house in order. But the timing of the KFF\FKL elections and the current status of affairs within our club will turn up to be his main undoing.

I do not object to A.D.O.R multi-tasking but who has he officially delegated his GM responsibilities to. Other candidate have taken the fight to his door-step and this issue is spilling down to the bench and supporters at large and that is what he has not realized.

HATIMY bought GOR PLAYERS AND OTHER SUSPECTED OFFICIALS AIR-ticket without the consent of CHAIRMAN during our FKL match against CONGO united through his proxy one Mr. ATARO immediately after we had beaten AFC and since then things started falling apart in KO-GALO and our house is no longer at ease and so “GOR MAHIA IS BURNING ON AND OFF THE PITCH AT THE EXPENSE OF THIS VESTED INTEREST.

I got a lot of information about the inside story of our club affairs from a friend who is well-known sports journalist that i have come to realize that its better to wait until the FKL/KFF elections are over and the fate of Harambee stars final derby with cranes is determined for anything tangible to be achieved within the club. Otherwise i leave it to all KOGALO-FOLLOWERS to post your views and comments as you so wish without victimization and character assassination.

I REST MY CASE AFTER OUR VERY MANY DISPARATE ATTEMPT TO GET TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR EXECUTIVE THROUGH THIS BLOG HAS PROVED TO BE IMPOSSIBLE AND KNOWING THAT PROBLEM WITHIN KO-GALO IS BEYOND WHAT WE SEE AND THINK.

I WISH HUSSEIN / SHOLLEI ALL THE BEST AND MAY THEY BE ELECTED SO THAT WE CAN SETTLE IN GM ONCE AND FOR ALL.

  • @Jabilo, surely you are spot on. The issues in GM now are more compex than we see. Some of the officials pointing fingers might actually be part of the problem. It’s alleged even some players could be involved. What is required from any well-meaning GM fan is to focus all our energies on the sato game. My fear is that if we don’t manage our expectations then we might lose the match which will be live on SS9 and further mess ourselves

    Well done Mr.Chairman that’s y you vied for the position. However please address some issues that will surely stain your record namely;
1.There’s been a considerable discrepancy btw the attendance at GM matches and the gate collections announced. Why is this when you’ve put in proper controls? Name and shame those involved.
2.MOST IMPORTANT ALL UA EFFORTS WILL COUNT FOR NOTHING WITHOUT ANY SILVERWARE. Football is abt winning and entertainment none of which our beloved GM does at the moment. Some of us think the technical bench is our biggest undoing but its you to get to the root of the problem and address it.
Finally in 2002 our politicians had a once in a lifetime chance to change KENYA into prosperous country.Kenyans were the most optimistic citizens yet they blew it, Mr. Ambrose Rachier, currently you’re in a similar position to make Mighty K’galo the greatest club in EA, nay in Africa, in fact in the world but as things stand now you run a big risk of blowing that opportunity.Like Kenyan’s in 2002 at the begining of the year GM fans were the most optimistic football fans in the world

@ 9 DAN PROBLEM IN KO-GALO IS NOW 2012 DIRTY POLITICS

@9 Dan your comments are very true and can be supported by factual analysis of the current performance trend that is nose-diving very deep into the sea of “REAL POLITIK” namely the bare knuckle approach.

Dan how else do you demonstrate against the CHAIR & ZICO from UHURU PARK to PM OFFICE for issue’s that he has little to do with unless the hidden agenda is nothing other than 2012 KIBAKI succession politics infiltrating into forth coming KFF/FKL election.

PM issued a statement some times back against “KO-GALO HOOLIGANISM” after our ill-fated game against ULINZI during the super 8 return match clash at Nyayo Stadium and since then i have not seen him attending any of league matches. He is purely avoiding to associated or be victimized due to misconception about JO-NYADHI ,JO-SUNGA , JO-PAKRUOK, JO-ACHAYE and so on…that we are always painted by all the media due to our actions once we are provoked and we re-act in the opposite direction.

Its PM and CHAIR who has brought Ko- Galo this far through their individual financial support and as such other contestant will not cease to see his hand as far as RACHIER’S candidature for the top post is.

That is why i lamented that the current issue’s prevailing with Ko-Galo are too complex and delicate like a brittle glass or an egg hence its for as FANS to preach unity and reconciliation messages as we try to look yonder beyond the box.

I am looking forward to wear my green jersey on saturday as a sports-person knowing very well that i will welcome whatever kind of result Ko-galo will produce. Because as of now ,ask any prominent media personality and he will oblige that there is a lot of “DIRTY MONEY” poured into GOR MAHIA officials, Players and Fans to do anything dirty at the expense of SIASA YA 2012.

Wuon Pap..i had planned to say a lot on the constructive lane but you’re just superb you’ve spoken all i had hence i’ll not repeat.Jakojera how come your rejoinder is the only thing to say at this time of the season? Surely sure we’ve said everything here..we’ve said everything at our branches but which should have been implemented by this political and elusive office for order and transparency.

I still feel the Chairman mentality is the problem that has kept GM outside the elite clubs club as put herein above..i hear people saying so and so has done a lot for club and i ask what are we to do as he does a lot? What is this a lot? Because i only see many fans yearning for development like plans for stadium, a bus, club house , academy etc..all we hear is so and so has done a lot! Can’t we move on, is there more distance to be covered?

We’ve demanded for the club season budget..all we’re told is that the so called Chairman has shouldered the team..if so then we should know by how much because this is a club if someone is interested in sponsoring a club in a transparent way then we have seen Sofapaka guy does it on his own, why confuse a whole GM community as if we’re not able to comprehend, this is a club.

I am not sorry to mention that these so called officials are simply presiding over distribution of GM income among each of them then lying to unsuspecting fans about the shouldering thing!

Jabilo i wish to commend you for your consistent and factual contributions before and here above too but i must express caution on your assertion about GM issues becoming complex especially regarding performance on the pitch this way: Politicians as much as they’re the only problem Kenya and her football has..
-They did not force ZD to kill talents that has led to confusion and horrible performance since the beginning of the season let him carry his cross.
-GM has consistently underperformed this season since long before the Chairman announced his bid for the FKL office let ZD take his fare part of the blame and no one should blame people gunning for FKL offices for GM performance on the pitch..in case ZD has been bribed then we saw this (under performance)a long time ago let him leave!
-For me whoever sponsors GM flight to anywhere is just contributing like any other person..remember GM receives donations from all and sundry and the Chair has been urged by branches to sort out several issues but is bent on forever eluding this..why do we get to Hatimy who is just another politician like the chairman..don’t we know they’re all the same..if anything GM money may still be spent on campaigns elsewhere..

I still demand good performance on the pitch for that’s all I’m interested in as a fan and member.

Let me stop there though am not finished.

    “SIASA MBAYA MPIRA MBAYA/DUNI”

@ 14 Agwa Kassam & @ 12 WUONPAP i agree with your opinions and suggestions on the best way forward for GM to excel to the highest level as a club both technically and management wise.

But due to lack of proper leadership and a lot of fire-fighting between the top officials who lack basic management practices like transparency and accountability at executive committee level we can not go far.

Twenty branches have demonstrated and petitioned the CHAIR over the very issue’s most of our bloggers have been questioning on this blog. As usual believe me the chair will not oblige to their demands.

According to gorfc.com they have tabled the burning issue’s at stake to the PATRON and threatened to seek legal address if the CHAIR do not act on them.

NOW WITH ALL THESE THEATRIC ACTIONS,CHEST THUMPING AND SO ON….! TELL ME MY GOOD FRIENDS OF KO-GALO HOW ON EARTH DO YOU EXPECT THE PLAYERS AND TECHNICAL BENCH TO CONCENTRATE ON AND OFF THE PITCH.

Once you engage into “Dirty Politics” and accept it wholesome then with our remaining league matches let us not expect miracle to happen on the pitch as much as we may demand.

THIS ARE SOFT AND COMPLEX ISSUE THAT FIRST AND FOREMOST WILL REQUIRE PEACE AND RECONCILIATION SO THAT WE CAN HAVE KO-GALO HOUSE BACK IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

WE ARE REAPING THE ROTTEN SEEDS OF MIS-TRUST AND SUSPICION THAT HAD BEEN SOWED LONG TIME AGO WITHOUT OUR CONSENT AT HELM OF GM EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT AND SINCE NO OFFICIAL IS READY BULGE-IN ITS TIME FOR “SIASA MBAYA MPIRA DUNI”.

Is Ambrose Rachier complaining? Wuonpap, Agwa Kassam tell me; is he lamenting?

So what if he has done what he has done for the club? Was the chairmanship forced on him? I believe not. He should therefore realize that he only did his part-indeed he did what was actually his responsibility.

But then that was then and this is now. Yes Agwa Kassam: this is now, when Gor Mahia’s core business- the very reason why it is in existence- is not anything to write home about.

No matter what he did in the past,he should not rest on his laurels but has to show leadership by stearing Kogalo to a respectable position at the end of the league (if not to avoid relegation!)

I stand to be corrected but unless things change for the better I have a strong feeling we will lose the Saturday match.

Guys the bottom line is 1. we’ve won no competition under AR’s chairmanship
2.under ziko we’re no.6 n playing tasteless soccer with a tactically inept bench.
Therefore it follows that the only reason these 2 r able 2 attract national attention is goodwill/loyalty of player no.12 who has turned out in large numbers n style. No one can handle both a GM & national office job effectively n efficiently. So AR pliz choose as 4 Ziko JUST GO!

IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN THEN YOU PLAN TO FAIL

@ Jackowili i also do have the same feeling that we are headed for a “Black-Saturday” of either losing or drawing against KCB.

    My reasoning is as follows:

    1. We had a fallout after losing to CONGO UNITED but
despite having two weeks of grace period to do some
house-keeping exercise between the executive and
technical bench nothing tangible has happened. Our
chair did not attend that important session to
provide the much needed guidance; Instead he
communicated his official position over the embattled
    coach through the media.

    2. The head of technical whose poor performance was the
subject matter and is suppose to meet the members of
executive committee today and explain what are the
issue’s causing this current downward trend is
also away in MUMIAS with the national team.

    3. On Thursday is when the coach with three players
camping with the national are suppose to leave and
join the rest for training on Friday.

    4. As we await KCB on Saturday over 25 branches of
K’Ogalo will be camping at the PM office expecting
RACHIER to appear before them on the same day and
deliberate on the way forward and my take is that HE
    WILL NOT APPEAR.

With all the above prevailing circumstances amongst ourselves then expect both camps of RACHIER Vs ATARO to openly pour their “BAD CARDS HIDDEN UNDER THE TABLE” even before the match.

HOW ON EARTH DO YOU EXPECT A BETTER RESULT FROM THE PLAYING UNIT SINCE THEY ARE ALREADY VICTIMS THE ABOVE PREVAILING CIRCUMSTANCES.

anyway on saturday i wil still put on my ‘no10 arrumtiddi jersey,go to work, hepa job mapema(just as i usually do whenever gor are playing on saturdays)head for burma to fill my tank’ then to stadi to make noise for my mighty kogallo.(if only these so called officials and the tech bench could know that some people literally put their jobs on line just to come and watch kogallo play?),then they would give us better!

  • What is hurting the club now is PRIDE. The pride on the chair’s side, Ataro, Zico and the fans. The moment we swallow our pride and all of us recognise that we have a problem which only requires the parties to sit down and deliberate then we will be home and dry. When a member of the EC goes on air and criticizes the coach for not having a ‘first eleven’ then is it any different from a cabinet minister in charge of security lamenting in a public rally that there is alot of insecurity in the country. You cannot be part of the problem and run away from it. Anyway let sanity prevail and hope that with time we will heal. Our rivals went through a worse scenario (without stones being hurled at the stadium) yet we pretended that our house was in order. Maybe we should learn from them. Their chair has been very hands-on and we expect more or less the same from AR. On the sato match both GM and KCB coaches are attached to Harambee stars so there should be no excuse from us. What is refreshing is that all bloggers are still having the burning desire to go and cheer the team come saturday. The extermists views from both sides have also cooled down. Maybe it’s after we have realised that the problem goes deeper than ZD. On the Patron’s availability we all heard him condemn hooliganism and that means that so long as we attract negative publicity he will distance himselve from the team. After all he has more to lose if he is seen as being part of the current disarray. Let’s hope for a sato win though KCB after losing 6 matches in a row will be a hard nut to crack.
