Rachier: We will not stand in a players way

courtesy of futaa.com

On Monday 5 August 2013 Gor Mahia called for a press conference at their club offices to address a concern; the case of two missing strikers Danny Sserunkuma and Rama Salim who had left the club ‘without consent’ to attend trials abroad.

Through Chair Ambrose Rachier, the club was categorical that the two players left without the club’s authority for the trials.

Randers

Sserunkuma is currently in Armenia where he has already tried out with Premier League side Banants while Rama had gone to Qatar to try out with second tier side Al-Marhiya FC.

Despite castigating the two players for ‘sneaking’ to their respective clubs for the trials, Rachier however stated that the club is in no way stopping any move, but calling for a proper way of doing this.

-In 2010 Blackberry was key and crucial to the club but we sold him to Randers in Denmark.

Must come back

-As a club we will not stand in the way of any player moving if; 1. The due process is followed and 2). If it is convenient; like we can always say its middle of the season so let’s negotiate at the end of the season

For the case of Rama and Sserunkuma, Rachier stated that the two ‘must come back and start the process’.

Iddi Suspended

Meanwhile, in a related event, Gor Mahia  has suspended   Goalkeeper trainer Iddi Salim indefinitely  for his  unethical  conduct  towards the transfer  of   two key players  Dan Sserunkuma  and  Rama Salim.

Salim has been replaced by experienced Tanzania born Ivo Mapunda  who will take charge  for the rest of the season.

Club Chairman Ambrose Rachier disclosed that Idd behaviour regarding the transfer of the duo was suspicious.

“As club Chairman,I was  not updated on what was  happening regarding the two players.I asked  Idd  about Rama’s absence  from the team but the  fellow told me he is  sick and was still around  only to realize later  he  knew  everything. He misled  us since a letter from  one of the  Agents   addressed to the club  came through Idd who gave me the email which  appeared unethical’Observed Rachier.

Iddi is one of the good people we had on the team and I did confide in him from time to time. Management, there are more voices of reason in the team. You cannot silence all of us. Aluta Continua

I condemn the violence in the strongest terms possible and for GOR’s sake lets avoid any form of violence. Before you break any seat or throw any object stop and ask yourself what you are doing.

Gor Player, you may just be genuine and right afterall.EC whatever you say now may be too little too late.Isn’t this just a reaction after supportes revolted on Sunday? Is that the only language you understand? You cannot talk of procedures where apparently there are no structures in place and even if there any they may not be well understood by the players.Who is to blame for that?

How comes we are in the critical stage of the league and thats the time you are losing your best players? Who is negotiating for Rama for instance coz we are reading that the first offer of 1 million shillings was rejected and they raised it to 2 million? Doesn’t that mean someone is on your side negotiating?

11 matches to go and if this is the way thing are going, we can as well forget the league- there are four other teams keen to take it from you. Watch out.

  • @ 2 Jathur gi ji you are right and i echo your comments while i condemn the thugs for destruction i praise the GMFC fanatic/damu for standing firm & demanding answers until AR has been forced to come out albeit with lame excuses. AR THIS IS UA 3rd term & the club has no structures & is run worse than a kiosk SHAME.
    1. Surely a mere GK trainer must be working with someone in ua bloated EC. BTW the Qatari officials r already in the country 2 negotiate.WHO INVITED THEM?

THIS IS A WEAK OFFICE LETS GIVE TEAM LEGENDS A CHANCE IN A LEAN EC WITH A CEO/FINANCE MANAGER/STRUCTURES RATHER THEN ONE WHERE A GK TRAINER TRANSFERS PLAYERS MID SEASON

I’m most saddened by the unfortunate acts of violence witnessed in Kasarani. This is very expensive on the club both interms of immage and fines. The worst aspect is where such scence may intimidate or tramatise players spsycologically to the extent that they lose esteem. In such a situation the players will always play under too much preasure and panic enabling loses.

It is very bad that we have lost our key players at a time when winning the trophy this season appeared very real.

I wish the EC foots the fine bill as they are the the reason for the riot.

Oswozo@6,well said.It was very disturbing to read how over confident some of us were about winning the league yet we have very tough games ahead against Tusker,Sofa,Ulinzi,Mathare etc!!

On hooliganism,i suggest that stadia management should invest in CCTV cameras that can capture ugly scenes as those witnessed on sunday and arrest and sentence the culprits.Let the charges serve as a stern warning to others who are keen on causing chaos in the name of being Gor fans!!!

  • I just want to ask the EC,how comes that they are always the last to know what is wrong in the club? We expect them to lead from the front!. The story about rama and sserenkuma has been in the media for over three weeks now. Surely Idi is just a mere GK trainer and must be working with someone in EC. Then who invited Qatari officials who are already in the country to negotiate with who?. I don’t think with Iddi. Please ask your assistance, he spoke to the media about it early last week. Remember the same issues costed AFC Leopard league last season and we wouldn’t go down that road.

JUST GIVE OUT THE ELECTION DATE & RULES
FOR 3 TERMS AR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PUT IN STRUCTURES IN GMFC WHICH IS NOT ONLY FINANCIALLY OPAQUE BUT RUN BY THE GK TRAINER NOT EVEN THE TM WHO EARNS A SALARY.

Methinks AR has to lead from the front. Now see what Faiz, Kilo, Bwana and Co. have put him through. Denying the obvious. What this team needs is a PR person. When I watch the PSL I see the ladies doing PR for them doing a very good job. We have great ladies and other PR gurus who can do this for GM.
On the two palyers Danny has already apologized to the Gor fraternity for any wrong doing but for me it seems there is nobody close to the players to mentor or listen to them otherwise these things could not be happening.
On another note instead of denying that some Gor goons were responsible for the damage the EC should be reaching to those who really care about GM in order to raise the fine. Some of us will say ‘can’t pay wont pay’ but still demand 101% from the players. What happened to the Mpesa account?

For those aspiring to the top offices in Gor now is the time to be counted. Fund raise and pay the 2.1m fine or mobilize well wishers to do so. This is the time to provide the leadership but not to gloat at the failures of the current EC. Running footbal clubs is hard. See what Ingwe Chairman is already experiencing with Lucy threatening to do a Loga on them

Everything Remaining constant the league is “MARWA”. Hate, Dishonesty, Politics is what is going to cost us the league. I was thinking we have some good guys who can offer free labour to fix those broken chairs at kisirani, Lets mobilize ourselves as a sign of solidarity with the club. Remember not ALL K’Ogalo fans are thugs but among us there are hiring’s. This will save GM from paying the whole 2.1M demanded by the SSBM. Any other person who can source for cheaper but better seats out there?

Ja Luanda : In support of Oduor 12 and other son this page :This time no excuses.Executive committee just own up and tell us you dont know what you are doing running a football club which has a regular season. How do you have the audacity to invite scouts to negotiate for players mid season?Do you really know what you are doing ? The season is just past half way ! Think think think !aR ,how does a Goalkeeper trainer Iddi do such a thing under your watch ? Then Faiz comes out and tells us Rama is unwell and he by the same breath he says they are negotiating on behalf of Rama/Gor and have rejected the 1M and the offer has been upped to 2M.All this under AR’s nose and George Bwana’s keen eye and Kilo’s supervision.

  • or Mahia has confirmed that indeed there has been interest expressed by Qatari Division 2 side Al – Markhiya to sign Kenyan international Rama Salim.

Speaking to futaa.com, the club’s vice chairman Faiz Ochieng noted that the club inquired for the forward’s services and in the preliminary talks, the club offered to get him for one million shillings, which the Tusker Premier League (TPL) side rejected.

    Upped offer

The Qatari club then upped their offer to two million shillings but as Faiz puts it, nothing is signed and the club’s officials are supposed to land in Nairobi for talks either today (Tuesday 30 July) or tomorrow, after missing a flight on Monday 29 July.

He said, contrary to speculations that Rama has already left, the former Congo United star is still in the country and added that if the deal proves to be fine for both parties he will be allowed to leave with the club’s blessings.

    Confirmation

-It is true that Al – MarkhiyaSports Club, a Division 2 League side from Qatar has inquired about Rama. They initially offered us a million but we felt Rama’s valuation is way past that and they thus increased it to two million.

-However, nothing is signed with them and Rama has not yet left to join the club. The club’s representatives are supposed to come over today or tomorrow for detailed talks. They were supposed to come Monday but they missed a flight.

    Open deal

-This is an open deal and contrary to speculation we are not hiding anything. Everything will be done in the open for the good of the club, fans and everyone involved. If the deal is right we will grant him our blessings, he told futaa.com.

Rama is currently Gor Mahia’s top scorer with five goals and has been instrumental in the team’s rise to the top of the league.

    Sserunkuma offered deal in Armenia

Armenian first division side FC Banants is ready to sign Gor Mahia forward Dan Sserunkuma on a loan deal that will see him cross over from the Kenyan League.

In the proposed deal, the Ugandan International will be taken on a six month loan deal with an opportunity of being absorbed permanently at the end of it with the coach showing great interest in him.

    Stepping stone

-FC Banants has proposed a six month loan deal for Sserunkuma which I believe will create a platform for him to move to a bigger League after the end the loan period, confirmed his agent Ken Joseph.

-He wants to build his team around Dan and has been offered the No. 10 jersey should the deal go through, added the agent.

    Rush hour

The club, according to the agent hopes to reach an agreement with Gor Mahia as soon as possible since the Armenia transfer window closes in seven days time.

Joseph also confirmed that the loan agreement has also been sent to Gor Mahia’s management.

  • two options i would expect to see from TPL;
    1. ban gor from the league. forget about the 2m fine and just kick gor out until fans realize the folly of their ways. and this is not just the fans. it’s obvious that coz of the coming elections there are those who have hired goons to do the damage. but my opinion is that the current office used the same tactics to win office. bwana and the rest of the ec have always defended the croc’s hoping that they will not be eaten. so all of a sadden, he now has a camera full of pictures of the crocs, ppl he said nevr existed. so now he feels how the hawkers feel. Rachier, ur sulky management has messed the club. ur the club chairman and u can dare say u were not in the picture. how i wish the croc’s got to you… but you knew cos these are tactics ur farmiliar with. so bwana u have always said gor has no crocs, so who attacked u? kud it be was it because of the coming 2017 general elections? silly questions! but haven’t u always fed us with silly explanations.
    2. fine gor 2m and play the next three games in empty stadium. this is not about selling Rama et sserenkuma. these guys have played enough matches and their scoring record is nothing to write home about. they are simply an excuse of the real war. The ec is happy that the attention to the real problem has been deflected. The EC is the problem at gor. half-baked players like kiongera et lavatsa should be given performance contracts. this includes kevin omondi. these guys will destroy the morale of the team. unfortunately things will sizzle in the coming days and life will be back to normal. gor fans will point at afc sins and ofcourse blame the police for NOT BEING THERE! so if the police is not around then i do have the right to steal. THE REAL disaster is yet to happen. to the coach, beware the oficials use crocs to fight their battles, take a guess how many sit with u at the tech bench.
