Rama Salim leaves the country this weekend for a series of trials in Europe and the Middle East, but his club has said they are not aware of the move.

Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana, while insisting that they cannot stand in the way of the player’s progress, said they need to be informed of any move he is about to make.

“I have not heard that he is going anywhere for trials though this does not mean that he is leaving the club. Trials are just that because at the end of it the club interested in his services still has to talk to us. We want to know where he is going because he still has a contract with us,” he said.

Salim joined Gor Mahia last season after starring at relegated KPL side Congo United. Salim’s combination with Ugandan import Dan Sserunkuma was responsible for helping Gor finish second in the just concluded season and will be difficult to replace if he decides to move away.

Good luck Rama Salim, but be careful since you have not been approached officially. Your agent is the one trying to outsource your talents abroad. My take was that you required one more year to up your skills, strength and ability for you to fit the bill for oversea’s standards.

Remember the jinx that is out there with local talents that have not been nurtured properly rarely makes it in Europe. Francis ouma blackberry, Kimani and many others.

Ooh Laa la!!!!! K’OGALO RECRUITMENTS OF FOREIGN PLAYERS HAS GONE GAGA WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE REST AND THE RULE STIPULATES A MAXIMUM OF 5.

    Current players in the team
    1. Dan Sserekuma
    2. Evan Anguyo
    3. Ivo Mapunda

    Fresh acquisition
    1. Israel Emuge —- defender—– ugandan
    2. Abbey Kunkurumi—— striker —– Nigerian
    3. Eddie Mubiru—— midfielder—- Ugandan.
    4. Giovani Rodrigues— striker—- Brazilian.

    NB:
    G. BWANA we only need to add the best two foreign players if nyou are maintaining the current three. And from where I sit I can predict that whoever is leading the recruitment must ensure that we cater for all departments.

    Local players recruited
    1. Zachary Onyango — goalkeeper
    2. David Otieno —- defender
    3. Muongai Kiongera– striker
    4. Obadia Ndege — striker
    5. Blackberry — striker

  • Walter Alando Bwoga says:

@ 2 OGANGO – I echo your sentiments. i dint know Black Berry is coming back; thanks for the info.

These recruits if not checked then we will end up having a total of 30 players and most of which could be rejects from other clubs or players we don’t need at all.

I think Rama needs one more season before he can think of playing in Europe but let me not underrate his agent’s efforts and GM fan’s expectation of ‘mtu wetu’ going to Europe.

  • I join my colleagues in telling Rama to be very very careful that he does not fall into a trap of being duped. We love you and we at Gor would be the first to support you playing in Europe or where ever the door opens. You have done us proud.Should you smell a rat in any way please do not take even a second. Turn back immediately so that you do not waste time out not playing.
