Rama, Kevo, Owino is action as Stars go down

Harambee stars “B” went down to Uganda thanks to a 74th minute goal in their first match of the 2012 CECAFA cup. Kenya is sending what is essentially a second unit to Uganda after coach Henri Michel decided to focus on the CHAN encounter with Burundi.

Rama Salim and David Owino started the game. Rama was in the thick of action throughout the match. In the 39th minute he was harshly ruled offside by the Burundian referee. David Owino acquited himself well combining with Jockins Atudo and Abdallah Juma to keep the hosts at bay for most of the game.

Kevin Omondi came in in the 72nd minute for Clifton Miheso. He immediatelt made his presence felt with his typical runs down the flanks. In the 79th minute he set up Humphrey Mieno with an excellent throughball but Mieno fluffed the chance. In injury down he went racing down the flank and sent a cross which was handled by a Ugandan defender but the referee ignored pleas for a penalty.

Edwin Lavatsa remained on the bench and did not see action. All in all a dissapointing but not a bad performance by Harambee stars considering that this is a B team that had only 3 days to prepare. Once again, FKF and KPL failed to synchronize their activities in order to give stars adequate preparation time.

GUYS , I LOVE THIS CLUB, I WILL DIE FOR IT BUT TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR LOGARUSIC AS GOR MAHIA TECHNICIAN. SINCE ALL CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS HAVE STALLED AND THE GUY HAS FLOW BACK HOME, I GUESS WE CAN AS WELL LOOK FOR A NEW COACH.

GOOD LUCK TO A NEW BEGINNING FOR THE CLUB THAT IS AS BROKE AS A CHURCH MOUSE.

the gor members gave a good account. congrats. the stars looked forceful to me but technic, technic or placement as logar says. so far i do not mind giving nandwa a chance with these guys but my general view of local coaches remains the same.it’s lame of him,for example, to complain about kenya’s blunt attack. did he read his job description? michel should have attended this tournament simply to gauge the players he can work with. probably he is using the telly or watching from the stands. the gor players have shown they can improve; in mind is owino, kev omondi ,odhis et akumu. with a good coach these players can take stars past uganda and even claim 3rd place. and i do not doubt they can win the tournament all together coz they do have the potential. my biggest wish is to test these guys against malawi-zambia-zimbabwe. so henri michel, by dismissing e and central, chan waits for you. if e and central was such a low level tournament, then my take is that you would have won it hands down. but i do support you all the same… let me not criticize so much yet i do not know what ur plans are. wish you all the best.

This team that went to Uganda ought to have been the team A (first team for Kenya). Look at the defense how it was solid. Congrats boys.

On Logarusic’s contract issue, I think there is still time/room for negotiations so he may be back…

  • If Loga goes that be it. We can even take Koops and make it, I can assure you of that. If Loga goes to Ingwe and we get Koops we will still beat ingwe, since we have the players and passion and belief on our side.
I see no crisis if he doesn’t come back unless we are saying that we didn’t learn anything from him for seven months. Our problem is interference of EC on the tech bench in terms of recruitment and fielding. Some players think all they need is to wear the Gor jersey and all is Ok until Loga shook them from this to reality.
Anyway, I know that he will still come back since the seasons are already underway in most leagues. So as we wait for him, let’s also cast our nets wide. The problem is that he might erode that confidence and love we had for him

These kind of rush conclusions is what will destroy us. Who says negotiations have closed and who says one cannot go visit his people especially that his family is in Croatia? Lets be patient as I know there are very serious Gor lovers out there who will seriously negitiate for Logas contract. We need him much more now that we have a continental assignment coming. Lets not make conclusions here, its not the right forum.Nevertheless we need correct official position reports from the office on the coach.
