Rama signs 6 month contract

According to futaa.com, Rama Salim is back in the club on a six momth contract. Confirming the developments, club deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala said the player will thereafter be allowed to pursue other interests should they arise.

Sources told futaa.com that the player has been released by his current Qatar based club Al-Markhiya SC having joined them in the midseason from Kogalo. Rama had joined the Qatari second tier side on a one season deal.

Gor Mahia fans will be hoping that Rama can recreate the dynamite partnership between himself and Sserunkuma which wreaked havoc against many opposing defences.

The reason for the 6 month deal is likely because Zdravko Logarusic and Simba had shown a keen interest in signing him but were foiled by the fact that the Tanzanian league transfer season ended on December 15 after Rama was available. Its a shame that Kenyan clubs cannot match the financial muscle of the top three Tanzanian clubs. Its up to us the fans and the officials to come together and chart ways to level the playing field against Tanzanian teams.

Bandari hit man reveals he has not held talks with Kenya Premier League champions on a possible move adding he has unfinished business with the dockers

Kenya Premier League side Bandari forward Shaban Kenga says he going nowhere despite reports linking him to a move to Gor Mahia.

Kenga has exclusively revealed to Goal that he is in Bandari to stay and disputed reports that he has opened talks with the Kenyan Premier League champions.

“No one has approached me from Gor Mahia and furthermore, I still have a contract with Bandari. I am focused on helping the team perform well this season and has resumed training with them.”

The player has been the subject of controversy between his club and Gor Mahia. Last week, Bandari Technical Director Edward Oduor insisted he is not for sale after reports emerged that Gor Mahia have opened talks to sign him.

“Kenga is one of our major players and we have no intention of selling him anytime. We are not here to expose players only for others to come and pick them. He still remains an integral part of our plans for next year,” Oduor told Goal on Saturday.

Kenga helped Bandari finish in a respectable sixth position. The team was promoted last season after two years in the lower ranks.

Walusimbi Joins camp

Ugandan left back Godfrey Walusimbi, who has signed a 2 year contract with Gor Mahia, has already joined the team’s camp in Oloitoktok.

Interestingly, Gor Mahia secretary George Bwana has also told michezoafrika.com that the team is finalizing talks to bring Shaban Kenga from Bandari.  Bwana adds that what remains now is scouting for one more striker before concluding their signings ahead of the busy season.

There is still no firm word on George Odhiambo Blackberry who a week ago announced that he was eager to return to Gor Mahia. Remember Gor Mahia have already signed Jared Obwoge from Chemelil Sugar.

Lavatsa Leaving

courtesy of goal.com

Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia striker Edwin Lavatsa is scheduled to ditch the club after apparently declining to extend his contract.

Goal can reveal that the towering Lavatsa is headed for the Middle East to an undisclosed club. According to a source close to the player, everything has been agreed upon with the new club and the player is just awaiting travel documents to jet out.

“He will not be at Gor Mahia this season. He has received a lucrative offer which he cannot decline,” said our source. Contacted Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana confirmed that the player has declined to extend his contract.

“We were supposed to offer him a new deal two weeks ago but he has been dilly-dallying so there might be some truth in those reports. We have resigned to letting him go,” Bwana told Goal.

He confirmed that the club has tied former KCB hit man Paul Kiongera to a one year contract as well as returned Rama Salim on a loan spell. “Kiongera has agreed to a new deal while Salim is back as he thinks about his next move.”

its simple even if Oduor tied you at Bandari , a time comes when you also would wish to grow , en that oduor will not be your provider at all cost ! get the limelight when your strength can carry you out there !!!

As Lavatsa leaves Kiongera signs in. Even if the young lad leaves for the Middle East Kiongera can ably cover the void and we even have Wanyonyi. All we can do is to wish him the best but he should ask Cheche, Dunga and Rama how life is out there. All the same let him get the petro-dollars and lay a foundation for himself since he is still young and a footballing life is very short. Apart from Oliech and Wanyama the other pros could be enjoying the money but not sure about the careers as footballers.
On Kenga, don’t be surprised to see him join us this week at the Boot Camp

  • seems like Gor Hope to win the league in six months before Rama looks for other options – Is Gor going to be run on a quarterly Term, half year term, whom are we leaving out for the six months Rama will be with us.

Such contract as signed by Thiery Henry, Beckam etc.

Or is someone looking for some quick money so Gor camp will act as a showroom, or fattening ground

This Kenga business being played out in the media is tiresome. After the trauma of Situmbeko, I bet most fans are tired of such shenanigans. Either sign him or proceed elsewhere. Kwani how long does it take to sign a player ?

Rama’s link up with Gor Mahia has seriously determined the the performance of some team that represented Kenya in Mapinduzi Cup. The day that news was broken literally every member of the squad went into a panic mode and out went all footballing form. I don’t blame them. Who would not panic at the re-emergence of Rama-Serunkumma attack?

@3 for your information, it was Rama who wanted the six month’s contract not the EC and remember contracts are reneweble. By the way i think it was a wise decision for Gor not to participate at the Mapinduzi cup. Look at what has befell our mashemejis. They come back without wining a single match and Wanga out for months with an injury.

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have handed former Bandari midfielder Shaban Kenga a two year contract.
This was confirmed by the club’s Secretary General George Bwana, who pointed out that they regard the player a valuable asset.
“After intense negotiations, we have finally struck a deal and the player should join us in training when we resume. Kenga is a great player and we are confident his entry will be positive for the team,” said Bwana.
His sentiments were echoed by vice Chairman Faiz Magak, who, also noted that they are still talking to more players.
“I talked with the player some days ago and he assured me that he will be coming to Gor Mahia. I am glad that we have finally gotten him on board. We are planning on getting a few more players on the team. We shall soon call for a press conference to make public the names of the players we have settled on,” said Magak.
Kenga, who netted a total of five goals, was named the runners Player of the Year at the 2013 Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year Awards.

We wish Bobby and Love a star all the best. The lesson here is that you cannot hold on to somebody if he wants to leave. Oduor of Bandari should not hold on to Kenga as if Bandari cannot survive without him.accept and move on kogalo has always done.

I read on supersports.com that Black Berry is back on a 1 yr contract, Kizito is coming today to finalise. However, as always, this is Gormahia unless you see a player donning kogalo jersey you cannot be too sure.

I think we are building a new team alltogether. Ec should just come out and tell us who is in and who is out.
I think Koops can be of help to GM now that the Scot is on his way to Tz. Just my opinion.

It’s unfortunate that Bobby is or might leave but in Gor we should be prepared for this. If you have a beautiful wife/gf or and a handssome husband/bf you will always get admirers who can get them from you if they are not 100% commited to you. So the best we can do is to wish whoever leaves gor on their on volition the best in life. Gor will always be there and even a snake becomes more lethal and agile after shedding off it’s skin and this allows it to grow. This is the time all gor followers should stand to be counted, and this includes the candidates for the forthcoming elections.
To me we will come out even stronger without those who deem it fit to jump ship. As a personal suggestion if BW leaves then let’s talk to Luc Emayel (though I don’t like his drama which reminds me of Loga) but he did great things while at Ingwe. His style was more adventurous that BW’s conservative style. Anyway when it comes to coaches there are so many good ones in Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia etc just waiting for the call to come and carry on. So all these could be a blessing to the team and therefore no need for panick

Tusker FC defender Mark Odhiambo says he feels he has little choice but to leave the defending Kenyan Premier League champions due to his complete lack of game time this season.

The Kenya international appears to have fallen out of favour with coach Robert Matano, and he admits he will look for alternate employment next year.

“I do all my best in training but I don’t even get considered for matches. I have tried to hold on but I think I’ve had enough of it,” Odhiambo said.

“I’m just tired of his (Matano’s) philosophy and will therefore terminate my contract. My career is stagnating at the point when it should be moving forward and I can’t take it anymore.

“I want to join a team where I’ll get regular play and I hope to get one when the transfer window opens,” he concluded.

@Dab Original I like your positive mentality and optimistic attitude. Truly belonging to K’Ogalo in whatever capacity requires a very strong shock absorber.

GOR issue’s will always be unpredictable at any given moment and the unfolding drama /circus during the current recruitment is not a surprise at all. Let this boys bond together while performing some outward bound team building in Liotoktok before the EC can avail all the new players.

We have no choice but to accept and rally behind those who have been committed by EC officially irrespective our own preference. JBO can still guide the boys minus BW.

@ 19 Dan Original – you have at least encouraged me.

Bobby Williamson is waiting until we get quality players and then he wants to leave; or may be he could be in fear that with quality players, the expectations could be higher and at Yanga it may be a bit easy.
