Red Berets hold Kogalo

Gor Mahia’s hopes of winning the league title took a slight dent when they were held to a goalless draw by Red Berets at the City Stadium on Sunday. Red Berets have proven to be a hard nut to crack of late having held Kogalo 1-1 in the first leg.

On Sunday, Red Berets played a defensive game, parking the bus in front of goal and managed to absorb intense pressure from Gor Mahia particularly in the second half. The red Berets keeper pulled off spectacular saves from efforts by Blackberry and Kevin Omondi.

Gor Mahia are now placed in 4th position with 38 points

Lets cheer the boys the same way we do when they win. They played their hearts out but as usual Berets lived up to its bogey reputation. They are not easily beaten by Kogalo, in fact they are the ones who eliminated us from the President’s cup and the first leg was 1-1 draw.I am surprised that wakina Wuod Ogola CC, Oti Oluoch, Ganda, Eric O etc have not commented by 9.00am. Dont sulk guys, next is KCB and you will have your cheers. But cheer the more even now. Mine is well done boys , you did your best and keep it up.

  • Here we are Ja Thur gi ji…..it was indeed a big dent putting into consideration the level of competition at this final stage. Its going to be tough guyz but am still optimistic that we can make it, not all teams will play like red berets. We are just four points adrift and I believe we will perform

In both good and bad times,we’ll always be together.Let’s learn from the mistakes of yesterday and make sure we win all our remaining matches and hope the others drop some points too.I can wait to welcome Musa Mohamed,Anthony Akumu and Duncan Owiti back to the starting line up.Well done Collins Okoth, you just need a good partner in midfield and we are done.

Well, it was a good performance despite the slight setback. To me the draw was good as a wakeup call to the Gor family that more effort is needed from both the fans and the entire team for us to win the league. We are still on course of winning those who are happy that Gor has lost grounds will be shocked in the next match that’s KCB. Kudos boys and thank you fans & supporters for turning-up in that large number.

Kogallo, lose no hope. It is not over until its over. Lets just stay focused on the upcoming fixtures. However I will not be disappointed even if the trophy eludes us this year, since this team is for next year. So far the boys have performed beyond expectation. Keep it up.

The players tried but most of our outfield players like Makori were nowhere to be seen. Where was Kitawi not fielded? From some reliable sources, Gor Mahia are back at it again with our usual internal wrangling and bickering over the trip to Cote D’ivoire on the players and officials to make the final trip. This trip should be for only players, technical bench members and one official to represent the club but not for some egocentric officials who are seeking glory at the expense of the club.

Kogalo I mean well for pointing out the problems that if not addressed urgently will affect the performance of the team and we might just say goodbye to KPL competition. We have a talented team but we need to have a unity of purpose in order to win the KPL title.

Officials, fans and well wishers, may I point out the following issues that will affect the performance of the team in the remaining eight games as follows:-

    1. Internal Bickering , Cote D’ivoire Trip and performance of the Secretary General
If Gor Mahia officials are not careful, the team is going to finish at position four because they are back at internal bickering once again. The issue with Gor Mahia is the Secretary General who even convenes meetings in some funny places to discuss the team manager. From some reliable sources, Jolawi has been relieved of his duties as the team manager in a move orchestrated by Arrum and his ilk.

When will Gor Mahia officials learn to work as a united team in order to win KPL? It is very sad that officials are leading the internal bickering over the trip to Cote D’ivoire.

From internal reliable sources, it is also being rumoured that Kitawi has been dropped from the list of players making the trip to Cote D’ivoire. Why Zico is doing this to the team? Why are you killing the morale of playing unit, Bwana Zico? When will you learn from the experience that unity and teamwork are paramount for the playing unit?

    2. Victimization of Certain Players by Technical Bench

On our Sunday match against Red Berets, the draw is purely blamed on this internal bickering, poor fielding and lack of bench power. On our previous match against Posta Rangers, Zico was forced to bring in Ibrahim Kitawi by fans. On last Sunday game against Red Berets, the same Zico decided to drop and omit Kitawi from the team-sheet. It appears that Zico is still having a problem with Kitawi over some unforeseen fear. Why should Kitawi be punished by Zico over flimsy excuses? Kitawi is one of our best prolific midfielder maestro with dribbling and technical skills which is needed to finish teams like Red Berets. Zico please unit players and stop victimising players. When Zico joined Gor Mahia, Kitawi was a regular player in the first 11 team. What has happened with Kitawi? When Kitawi was brought into the game against Posta Rangers, he proved a point that he is still good. He changed the game plan altogether. Why wasting such a talented player?

    3. Chairman and Executive Role
Chairman Ambrose Rachier, you have done a great job by paying salaries and allowances to players on time. However, I disagree with the way you have left the administrative functions in the hand of Secretary General and his ilks. Chairman, please take charge of running the club before it is too late. Chairman, please find out why certain players are being victimized for flimsy reasons. Please launch your own internal investigation and the truth will be unearthed or brought to light.

    Cheers Kogalo.

At this point in time, we need unity in the office, team unit, technical bench and fans. I hope we are not fighting again just like the first leg where we had issues after issue over mirage enemies.

United we stand, divided we fall. We have eight games to win the league please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cheered more on Sunday than ever before though I noted that some fans just sing loudest when the team is winning. There will be times when we’ll loose. Lets cheer loudest at such times.
By the way what was that I saw:- players coming from the bench did NOT have pads. HOLY SHIT!I repeat again, the fans are always great and pay gate charges BUT until the management of the club is sorted out, Gor Mahia is not going nowhere.

  • I agree with Jagor Mayienga comments. Chairman please sort out the mess internally before it is too late. Take advantage of the KPL break and talk to players in an isolated place like Loitokitok. Let office bearers stop bickering and observe ceasefire for the better of the club.

Well don Zico yuo have made us greate and we are happy a draw was not bad what you need to put more effort in midfield because Opiyo is not in add more midfielder to partner with Okoth. He is a very greate midfielder and competent we are happy aibu ya mapera ya change shin gaurds ndio hatutaki because we are paying gate charges let us not see that again. But congratulation for the job you done K,ogalo juu juu juu.Leguae ni yetu round hii.

Jagor Mayienga, thank you but it would be better not to splash such alarming issues like this in public and more so if the matters are being addressed quietly somewhere. I want to believe that there are no such issues affecting the team because that would be plain tragedy. Guys, I mean Club officials, do you remember where we came from just the other day? And does any body just for a moment consider the enthusiasm that fans have displayed attending the matches? Does any body care for those numbers? By the way the club has a fatherly patron, guidance is needed, yesterday and not tomorrow.

Jagor Mayienga this are the things that break the team. You dont just wake up and write unfounded claims about the team. Gor is not made up of Kitawi. If the coach feels he is not upto the task, then he should be left out. Let the coach select players he feels can do the job without fear or favour. If the display we see from the boys is anything to go by, then I urge all Kogallo fan to ignore such outbursts with the contempt it deserves.

I luv the way Gor is playing n the work that Zico has done but we all agree that Zico needs help cz as of now,he is the only technically gifted guy on that bench. If u compare to sofapaka, the coach has 3 other coaches who help him to analyze the game from different angles.
There is one great coach in MYSA called Kangi, whom can be drafted in to assist Zico then pro can be relegated to the youth team to enable him gather enough coaching experience.

About the sec. GEN,we lost a great guy in kodera.

All the same league to marwa wang’ni.
