Reports: Logarusic among those in contention

Apparently former Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic is among those who are seriously being considered to take over as Gor Mahia coach following the departure of Bobby Williamson. This according to a report in the Nation.

“It is safe to reveal we will be appointing a foreign coach (to replace Williamson) considering the composition of our multi-national squad,” the club’s organising secretary David Kiilo said Tuesday to the Nation.

The  Nation Sport suggests that Logarusic, who won the FKF and Top 8 titles during his earlier stint at the club that ended in mid last year, is keen to make a comeback.

However the management is wary of the tactician’s ‘extra baggage’ and would prefer to outline what the Croatian tactician can or cannot say or do on paper as part of the agreement.

It is a reversal from 2 weeks ago when Secretary General Chris Omondi declared that the club was not interested in hiring Loga but would instead persuade Williamson to stay until season end.

Should Logarusic return, it will be a reversal of last season when he left at Mid season for Williamson to take over.

Logarusic was most recently at Simba of Dar es Salaam where he was fired for several reasons including the fact that Simba finished an unaccustomed fourth in the league and Logarusic was said to be extremely rude to players.

There is no word yet on which other foreign coaches are being considered.

Loga is the man for Gor mahia,Bring him back and go talk to Tuzo for sponsorship, those guys are willing to sponsor us,but the EC has soo much much ego, they just want some small issues sorted out.Am privy to some of top Tuzo guys.

Running & thinking at the same time.
If we can pay him & it must be a mzungu than Loga is the man not so much for his tactical prowess but for his ability to demand that EC & players play their role effectively.
I fondly remember his favourite statement- Gor Mahia is a big club.
The results of the vote on the “CECAFA debacle” on the previous post am sure will be on interest to some bloggers.

Surely i’ll root for Loga since it’s him who laid the foundation that led to the TPL Championship not forgetting that he missed it narrowly to Tusker the previuos year.If not for his high demands,he’s the coach.Remember also that it’s him who shapped ‘the rotten potatoes”of which some of them are now international footballers.I liked this guy loga.

  • Loga did not lay any foundation at GOR if its laying foundation then we should give Zedi the credit for that infact to me he is still the best coach locally n if given the best support n free hand he can do wonders

The foundation was laid by Siang’a then Gideon not Zedy, so if it’s based on foundation then you can even consider the late Len Julians. We need a little bit of seriousness here please!!!!.

As far as I know it’s Siang’a who laid the foundation for this team. Unfortunately those days some of our fans had not joined the movement and were either following EPL or not concerned with soccer at all. Whoever saw BB, Macheda, Kitawi, Pinches. Lavatsa, Pro, Jakambare etc would know where our rise started. Agido and then ZICO built on that. What Loga did was to manage the EC and the players to be professional in their actions. BW himself brought in stability to the team when everything was pointing downwards. I therefore believe everyone has done their bit including the fans.

  • Loga is good but too abressivd. He scare every one in the team. Zico is also good but always afraid to attack, he’s too defensive minded. All in all, i wont mind either of the two taking over at our beloved team

Who is the official spokesman of Gor Mahia Football Club? The SG should be the only source of info, such folks like Killo only complicate the process with such interviews.

I like Loga as a coach but i dont think he will perform in the current financial state of the team. This is one person who can easily incite the players over bonuses and allowances. The quality of our playing unit will also be a problem to him and with only 10 matches to go he will be a big risk.

We need Loga because of his tactical prowess.I still remember the game vs tusker in 2012,it was the top 8 semi final at Nyayo,we drew the game but we played one of the best games in recent history. It was a game worth watching,we threw everything at tusker, the ball was flowing,we possesed the mid, attack, the boys were physically fit.Thats the kind of play we need,NO team will beat us.Loga please come back.

Ooh Laa la..”IT MUST BE A LOCAL TACTICIAN BY THE NAME ZICO”

Bloggers we must desist from banking on past glory and focus on our immediate task of collecting maximum points from KCB.

The current crop of players in GM are not interested in the ceremonial historical foundation debate; but what they need is a coach with the ability to built on their momentum and help us clinch the title using his local EXPERIENCE in Top flight league.

Our financial status not with standing NOBODY CAN BEAT “ZICO” and “AR” you are better off using your position to impose “ZICO” by hook or crook. WE SHALL DEAL WITH THE EVENTUALITIES.

ZICO will divide the team,he thrives on loyalty as opposed to sportsmanship. He will reassemble his huruma goons, line ups will be drawn and decided in pubs around huruma area,so long as you in good books, you will play,if not you will warm the benches regardless of your fitness level.

Ooh Laa la.! “YALIO PITA SI NDWELE TUGANGE YAJAYO”

@ombeng ombeng let the past belong to the past and give ZICO a second chance. This guy has reformed from his past mistakes and given a chance he will take us to the next level. Remember PAMZO was fired at SoNy to pave way for ZD to revive the team from relegation and he did it.

If it is about character assassination then you can point ills to all and sundry; Is not that LOGA is a media-maniac guy with a loose ZIP and we all know about it; Even OUNA last year messed up our championship inauguration match against KCB by leading the players to a drinking spree the night before at his own pub. ZICO AMAETOSHA MBOGA.!!

While in school i’s taught to read the instructions b4 answering any questions. In paragraph number 5,i said Loga laid the foundation that Bobby Williamson built on for Sirkal to be crowned 2013 champs.I din’t mean what others are thinking,n whoever will take over from B.W will also build from where he(B.W)has left. Please don’t allow your feelings to run over u.Thanks.

To my respected bloggers @ Kosero , @Dan Original and @Pmawego you did request myself,Jakoyo and ODUOR12 to forward our preferred candidates for the vacant position and we have done so. Now tell the “Competent” EC that with immediate effect they should appoint either ZICO or LOGA. PERIOD…!!! The rest are out of contention because they can not sustain the high octane pressure from the ever demanding K’Ogalo fan base.

ZICO IS A FORMER PLAYER, CAPTAIN & COACH WHO IS WELL AWARE THAT GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE IT WILL BE THE HALLMARK OF HIS CAREER AND I PERSONALLY DOUBT IF HE CAN GAMBLE STUPIDLY THIS TIME ROUND. THE STAKES ARE VERY HIGH AND HE FITS THE BILL.

Comrade @Ombeng Ombeng do not be worried or scared with ZD’s goons since we have the antidote and methodology to deal with one ZICO’s theatrics and when it comes to thuggery ZICO’s himself knows how we can handle him cause we have done it before, to the extent that he took a sabbatical leave 4 good.

Let ZICO come and guide this young boys to the title. With ZICO at the helm, i can bet for sure that both TUSKER and SOFAPAKA will face the wrath of this young talent. If we happen to win the title then i can assure you that ZICO will bring on board players like Charles odette(SoNy defender and H/STARS new cap),Kataka(KRA) amongst many other local REVELATIONS as opposed to the Rodrigues and Situmbeko’s of this world.

But hold on, this Zico people are quacking about still have a running contract with SONY how will Gor with their financial problems buy him out of his contract without breaching some footballing and contractual laws by Tuesday?

Zico with his ego apart from SONY the other team he can coach comfortably in Kenya is Kariobangi Sharks. Otherwise with the current situation Zico will only end up dividing team with his East lander attitude.

@comrade Eric Yuko buying out ZICO’S contract is no cause of alarm since it is worth BW one month salary and after all FKF has bought out BW contract and as such we have enough money in the bank or what do you think.

Did FKF breach any football or contractual obligation while hiring BW? It is players who are obligated to be signed within transfer window but coaches…! a BIG NO my comrade. ZICO has to be roped in by hook or crook.

Why cry for this expensive Mzungu coaches and yet we claim the club is financial crippled. So many local coaches have done with meager resources and it all depends on our good will.

    – AKWANA did what KIMANZI could not achieve with SOFAPAKA by eliminating ISMAILIA of Egypt despite their financial muscle.

I WAS CHALLENGE TO NOMINATE MY PREFERRED COACH AND I HAVE DONE SO NEXT I EXPECT ZICO TO UNVEILED NEXT WEEK.

@Ogango and Jayoko, can you settle on one coach (between Loga and Zico) and present to us. From the bottom of my heart I will support whoever you settle on. We will carry placards tomorrow to present your choice. I was so tired of the criticisms when BW was the coach so much so that I will go with your choice. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to see Ouna tomorrow. He is assured of support from me as long as he is at the helm. Constructive criticism is the way forward guys

ziko is too negative with his tactics. let him stay with his Sony. bring Ouma from sofapaka. he is more qualified than ziko and loga, more tactical n entertaining

  • Loga shud not be apointed bcos he is arogant. He was even rude to Rachier who hired him. He has also not won any league title & the curse might not let him win the league like hapened in 2012 . I think Zico or Ouma of sofapaka shud be hired. I believe that Zico is still the best coach localy. But loga, is a big no. He finished a distant 4th place in tanzanian league. If we must go foreign coach way. then we shud go for KCCA coach & not loga.

One apparent thing is Zico’s teams r hard 2 beat, n difficult 2 play against they r discplined n play cautious football, alongside Kimanzi i rate them as the best local coaches around, n so ZICO it is 4 semeji.
