Shades of the 80s as Gor Mahia tame Simba

Andrew Murunga and Eric Masika (15) keeping tabs on Salim Gilla of Simba

Amid the miserable failure of the national team, Kogalo supporters had something to lift their spirits. Gor Mahia reminded Simba of the good old days of the 70s and 80s when Tanzanians would shake in their boots at the prospect of facing Kogalo as it often happened in the CECAFA Club Cup.

Gor Mahia beat Simba 3-1. Goals from Makori, Francis Ocholla and Collins Okoth sunk the Msimbazi based side who finished second in the Tanzanian league last season. All goals came in the first half.

Kogalo celebrates the 3rd goal as Simba are left mesmerized

U guyz are doing us proud.club management however needs to do sth about the players playing kits i.e shin guards.i was embarrassed in our last match to see our boys take 3 mins to get to the pitch bcoz of haring shin pads with teammates.Anyway round hii hakuna excuse.our boys have come of age.The kpl title is ours if we stay keen and convincingly win our matches.

This team is great. If they can keep together next season, I see them finishing the league unbeaten. James Sianga please continue helping the technical bench in identifying more talent. I can now see where you were coming from. No going for established players anymore.
