Solitary Goal knocks Kogalo out of FKL cup

Gor Mahia went down 0-1 to Red Berets at Nakuru’s Afraha stadium thus putting paid to their chances of competing in next years continental events, much to the chagrin of Kogalo fans.

The match featured a number of new signings including the new sensation from North Eastern province, Abdimaalik Mohammed. However the combination did not work, leaving many Koogalo fans wondering why the technical bench used this important match to experiment with new players.

No other KPL teams were eliminated. Arch rivals AFC leopards received a bye into the 2nd round.

Red Berets have always been a hard nut to crack. I am not suprised we lost, ni hali ya game. Lets prepare for Chemelil must win match. They humiliated us in the first round, its time to avenge the defeat. All the best Kogallo!!!!

  • Our only hope of silverware now is winning the league which is a tall order. It means not losing any match starting with the chemelil one

  • The berets match at Afraha was the worst football display by Kogalo I have witnessed for the past one year. Am just glad the boys who kept us at the edge of our seats in the first leg are still at our club except for Ngwa; otherwise the new signings are ‘maembe kabisa’ and should realise that us kogalo fans are a demanding lot!

  • This president’s cup was easy to win but kogalo played as if it was a training match. Red Berets played with seriousnes and commitment. Now you must win the league because next year you must go continental, and thats the bottom line; because kogalo fans say so!

  • In fostering unity, discipline and winning mentality to the team, there is a serious need to engage the services of PSYCHIATRISTS because winning games is on the mind. Strong mentality always drives players to unleash the hidden potentials within their scope to win games. As PSYCHIATRISTS say that winning is always in the mind. As the second leg KPL league will be starting this weekend, I propose that the officials should engage the services of Psychiatrist in order to psyche players like Blackberry, Ngwa, Owiti, Opiyo, Akumu, Kitawi, Kevin, Kiplagat, Makori etc that they can score many goals. These lads are a joy to watch and they can win any games with the right set of mind.

I think Gor Mahia have some of the best players in KPL league. We can win all games in the KPL league.

  • Yes Kogalo has good players. Sadly I havent been able to watch them much this year. Do you guys think coaching is also a problem ? Or is it just that KPL is tough. I fail to see how a team like Ulinzi wins so many games and Kogalo with several national team players cant.

  • Paul is very right. We have the best ball players in KPL. We have a winning team. What is lacking is the right set of mind; the boys must realise they are the best in the Kenyan league. They must believe in themselves, and, yes, they will deliver.

  • I tend to feel the combination of ‘Odemwinge’ and Ngwa could be a terrifying mix for opposing defenders should the coach consider playing them together. Both are deadly hustlers. Also, Ngwa should be given more games as the Cameroonian has remained faithful to Gor despite being benched all the time, there is no need loaning him out as has been reported.

  • The officials, technical bench and fans, let us all pysche our players so that they can win all remaining matches.
