Technical Bench reprimanded

In a report by Supersport Gor Mahia’s technical bench has been given three matches to turn around the team’s fortunes.  The club’s National Executive Committee issued the ultimatum after a five hour meeting chaired by Chairman Ambrose Rachier at the club’s Nyayo National office on Tuesday evening.

Organizing Secretary Tom Ataro and deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala told SuperSport.com that the executive committee will meet the players at Nairobi City Stadium on Wednesday to get their side of the story.

“We want to talk to the players and get the true picture .We want to share with them whatever problem they have and see how best we can address them. We have reached a critical stage with seven matches remaining and we must take all issues affecting the playing unit seriously.”

Ngala confirmed that the technical bench will remain intact adding that no major decisions were arrived, “The League is now in the home-stretch and therefore we did not make any major decisions or make any changes in the technical bench since we don’t want to interfere with the playing unit.”

The club officials have also been summoned to appear on Thursday before Kenya Premier League (KPL) disciplinary organ to show cause why action should not taken against them after their fans were involved with ugly scenes during their stormy match against Congo United.

How Ataro and Rachier who appear to be bitter enemies can co-exist in the same committee is mystery.

The news will be bad news for Kogalo fans who have been asking for a change in the technical bench. How many more poor performances must the club endure. It must be noted that even prior to the current poor form, the team had not been playing well.

that Gor is disjointed and ZD more focused on Harambee, He is asking for the postpondment of gor vs AFC match.

ZD you cannot have a cake and eat it ………Sorry

to management – why three games, we have done so baddly that three more draws, three more loses, or even three wins will not deliver us the title

  • At least some sanity is now prevailing. Change always has to be managed in an organised way. . We wish the fans to also observe some truce. EXTREMIST views will not help at this point. Let’s focus on the team as a whole instead of individuals. GM is bigger than all of us. If reprimanding the players and the bench will give us stability the better. We must also be aware of the fact that we can still play our best game of the season but still not beat KCB. That’s footy for you.

Dan are you in politics? What is insanity in pointing out that GM have not been playing well and the issue is technical?
What is extremist view here in calling for a change in the head of technical bench that’s been there for two years and been observed so?

Who sent rogues to beat up Awilo and how did he or they establish that Awilo creates bad omen to the team?

I’m reminding you and others in the same lane that we pointed immediately after the ULinzi debacle that ZD was the cause of the fracas after he created a beef with Gatuzzo in the first leg of Super 8 and the fans reacted to the referee because he was the object on sight!
I’m telling you the people who sent goons to beat up Awilo are senior members of the club with responsibilities who are running away from reality that,
1.The team has played bad football for most part of the season and has very little to do with bad omen.
2.In the 2nd leg of last season we played with technically equipped personnel who fought for several penalties..now they’re not there and the remaining have not been technically equipped by the ZD guy and reality is downing.
    3. The chairman has eluded meetings called to iron out issues meant to drive GM forward hoping to ride on his past glory.
4.ZD just as the chair thought he would just win the league remember the first game’s fielding when he messed up the line up only to reinstate established players in the following match! He has always thought of himself as a know all angel..and now he’s facing real life.
5.I repeat the people who beat up Awilo must have been sent by an officer of GM bent on covering up their ineptness..i tell you there have even been calls to harmonize players pay in GM its all this that have been eluded by the so called sanity prevailers.. who do you think is fooling who..i will never support politics of this kind.
6.Everywhere i read coaches sacked for poor results why are we naive to put up with arrogance,under-performance and confusion? what about this gambling and players out of their positions, why why must we put up with all this..this is not sanity.
    7. An what about scheduled meetings cancelled at the last minute?

Dan, kindly stop taking these issues lightly, remember GM is a source of livelihood for thirty players and other very honest technical bench assistants.

We’ve said it b4 give Ziko even 1,000 more games and K’galo will go nowhere. The Awilo incident is a very bad way of trying to create a diversion. If he’s not performing why not let him go like Kitawi. Am 100% sure this is as result of infighting btw club officials and the bench. Fans even the so called hooligans can not stoop so low and to attack player when they know problem is the technical bench. Awilo is not even a regular any more. While Ziko is a gone case such incidences do not augur well for AR or even Ataro. Get us a professional continentally accomplished coach who will not tolerate such rubbish but Mr.Chairman, when will you take charge?

  • @Agwa and @Oduor12 the reason for calling for sanity basically means we examine our extreme positions since even those for status quo for the time being have good intentions for the club. If we all pull left and right where will that leave the club? During the PEV in 2008 all parties had to abondon their exteme positions and that’s why we are where we are now. The moment we stand by those views come what may then the goons attacking the playing unit (of all things) we feel nothing as they believe they have backers somewhere. By the way I never implied that all those who go watch our players train are hooligans. Most teams nowadays train only in the morning since thay are all pros and take time off in the afternoon or have friendlies in the afternoon. How can the writer say it is bad news when the EC meets the technical bench? Is it good news when they are calling each other names? Do we really want to solve these issues or we are enjoying the drama?

@Dan the questions I ask myself is:
1.Do things have to get this bad b4 the EC meets the technical bench?Fans saw the signs as early as March/April yet officials who are supposedly more better soccer admins. have continued to bury their heads in the sand.
2.How does a player(Gatusso) take a matatu after playing for team in Thika becoz of a blow up with the coach?
3.How is a senior player attacked during a training session?
4.Ziko now needs more than 20 thugs per game(disguised as GM security)to protect him from ‘FANS’
5.How do you give the head coach a 3 game ultimatum when the same guy is also coaching the national team at a crucial time and expect any worthwhile results?

HOW IS OUR ESTEEMED K’GALO BEING RUN??

As much as I’m against Zico and his tactics I support the verdict of the executive team since, with 7 matches left we dont want to creat more Havoc than we have right now…After Tusker draw the League is still possible with proper Motivation. After getting Players griviances they will have to find a away of motivating the team and tell them There’s next season without Zico and importance of the team performing and keep enjoying the goodwill from the Fans (Mighty Green Army)…And to just preach to them Playing Continental games give them more Exposure and experience….Lets Just Support The team,it was a decision that had to be made and lets just trust their wisdom..But we all Know Zico will not Coach Gor Next season…Lets build our Momentum Since Ingwe found their Jinx and broke it,,,,on the 2nd we have a litmus test that will shape our title Hopes

Wisdom has prevailed. I support the EC 101%.Even if you bring Sir Alex Fergason to take charge now, there is very little that he will achieve. Let this most hated coach that Gor has ever had, be in charge until the end of the season then releave him of his duties. Let’s be professional in our approach. Look at Arsenal. They have decided to stick with Wenger despite the poor start of the season. How I wish we would be seeing things the Arsenal way. For God and my club Kogallo.

  • As i said earlier, we need three names of coaches. We need to start vetting now. EC don’t need to give three-game ultimatums. Zico is away for those three. Bure Kabisa!

We must let the technical bench finish this season and go peacefully. I suggested they send Zico for training abroad coz one day he will be back. It’s better to have him back when he is better tactically. Believe me he will be back. Do we want him back from some Chemelil, Rangers or back as a better coach from Germany or Netherlands.

The club must invest in order to reap in future. They will not create an academy soon so i suggest they spend some profits on the coaching staff.

I watched Tusker vs Rangers as i have watched many other matches this season and Gor fans must also demand more positive attitudes and better performance from the players. They make the coach look bad when they miss chances and play like they are being forced to. If they are left out of squads, they need to look forward to another day. Not join fans on the stand with all manner of theories why they were left out. That is the problem with Gor. These players grow big heads and cause unnecessary fielding problems for the coach. This will not affect Zico only. With these kind of characters, next season we will be condemning another coach.

Lastly, let us be good fans. Walk away slowly after games and strive to be winners and leaders in our different fields as we demand of our players.

Fine, Mr. Kowino for your Democracy, i categorically state that for me i am speaking my mind and open for correction but never will i fight or even win anything or discussion here or anywhere!

I’ve always believed in talking about issues aimed at changing the situation which is deplorable. Sir, i do not win anything when for any reason purported fans stone others followed by claims of having been sponsored by a section of officials, i also won’t win when a player is attacked in training..Sir i’ve always believed that if the EC could sit with Branch officials to reason without treachery all these embarrassments would be gone.

I’ve also never believed that one person out of masses would be master of all knowledge and wisdom hence questions on how the team performs is welcome all over the world..that’s why I’ve always felt free to air my views with regards to EC’s handling of meetings and ZD’s arrangement of players..

Up here someone has talked about ZD walking around with his private security..i do not believe he’s not being careful about nothing but may be there’s something he’s aware of..personally i would rather a coach be loved and not treated by a section of us (fans) as an enemy.

I’ve addressed you Mr. Kowino coz you’ve singled me as the very few bent on hatred to the EC and ZD..If your democracy will prevent injuries to players on attack by organized people with scale to measure bad omen then lets embrace your democracy! If it will offer harmony between warring EC officials so be it.
