Tough conditions set by SSMB

Gor Mahia will have to meet tough conditions before their scheduled derby against arch rivals AFC Leopards on Sunday 25 August 2013 at the MISC Kasarani.
A joint KPL/FKF meeting resolved to have the club deposit an indemnity fee of Kshs 1,000,000 with the Sports Stadia Management Board to cater for any damages that may arise from the match.
Failure to pay this amount will see the match played in an empty stadium. Future violence from AFC and Gor Mahia matches will also see the same measures applied for both home and away matches.
Security preparations
K’ogalo has also been asked to provide a candid security plan acceptable to the KPL, FKF and the SSMB within seven days.
The club is also required to identify, isolate and profile the hooligans who are believed to be known to the club officials fo possible disciplinary and prosecution.
Cuts both ways
Both teams will also [in case of violence] be required to compensate the opponents for the loss in revenue in gate collections.
Kasarani will also henceforth be given the first priority to host AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia matches with Nyayo National Stadium playing second fiddle.
On security matters I think the state and SSMB should take responsibility. When political parties have their mammoth rallies I wonder if they are reqiured to pay for security apart from just informing the police. This is what should happen in matters football as well. As i know it nobody in the GM EC knows issues on security as we don’t have former security personnel on that EC.
On the venue issue I prefer Nyayo as fans really struggle to commute from Kasa after a game. The Nyayo atmosphere is also good for soccer where we expect around 20 to 30K fans.
@Dan Orig, i kindly beg to differ . its not wether the game is in kasarani or nyayo. gor fans follow the team to naivasha, mombasa which are much more far away. the issue here is violence caused by gor fans. this is the game gor would have easily made 10 milln without a sweat. but over the yrs gor fans have made sure that the gate collections remain small coz of their poor attitude. repeated request made to bwana to talk to these guys went unheeded and now society is starting to see the club more as a bother. that hawkers now carry pangas is not a secret and it is also not a secret that the police would rather see gor fans being attacked. gor mahia officals now say they are ready to pay it the game is in nyayo. so all along they knew that gor fans coz these damages! unfortunately their way of thinking is still tied to money instead of the well being of the club. i’m sure they to have counted the 30k fans but at what price.
Some of you think and think well. I request Le Pastre for instance to bring up his comments @27 in the previous subject “Moses Odhiambo praises Williamson” to the current so that people read and clearly understand somethings if at all anybody cares.How may of us think like that? I doubt that any of the yobs ever read this. Can we do fliers on this matter to distribute. Those with good writing skills, where are you and any offers for printing?
i agree in part with @3,Dinga….this upcoming derby was set to rake in millions….but because of a few over-zealous fans who like to cause mayhem,some fans will steer clear off the venue thereby denying the club the much needed revenue!!
Security begins with you…before seeking for protection from others,see how best you can protect yourself when attacked!!our EC needs to do so much in terms of combating hooliganism if we hope to bring the masses back to the stadium to watch our games!!!
Conditions should not be in place, for a derby of this magnitude to be played. I beg to disapprove what the KPL, FKF and the SSMB have reached on. This is an indicator of the failure of KPL and FKF to provide direction and regulations on how to run clubs successfully in this country. -Nothing good comes easy, and in the world all over no hardline stance works-only in the short term-
I would want to see the comination of FKF and KPL carry out awareness and sensitization campaigns, be at the forefront of reasonably defending the local clubs like they do in Europe-lest we go back to the days of empty stadiums not long ago-
FKF, KPL should bear the guarantee of the possible damages to the sports facilities arising; and settle the same with the Clubs, SSMB should not directly engage with the clubs on this-we need to have some channels of communication and dispute resolution.
All said and done..I wish to salute the spirit of KOGALO and INGWE fans…

In as much as i don’t agree with the SSMB for the simple reason that the Police and SSMB also have a role to play in curbing hooliganism in the stadia. I also blame our EC for failing to identify hooligans and work with the police to address the problem. All you need to do is to identify a trouble maker, follow him/her after the match, arrest and arraign before court. That will be a lesson to others. Tear gas cannot help it only serves to further their interest of causing mayhem and looting from all of us.
i think on the part of identifying the hooligans Gor must deal and work very closely with the police to ensure that the goons are put behind bars and it is indeed worrying if hawkers carry pangas on match days meaning that Kogalo fans are a security threat….ha ha ha…the goons have succeeded in their mission while the lazy Gor Mahia officials are sleeping.
@GWER GWER I DON’T AGREE WITH UR SUGGESTION OF FOLLOWING ONE AFTER THE GAME BUT WOULD SUGGEST WE ARREST THE OFFENDER WITHIN US AND HAND IT OVER TO THE POLICE FOR PROSECUTION. LETS START WITH BANG SMOKERS AT THE TERRACES, BAN ALCOHOL SALE AT THE STADIUM, INTRODUCE ALCOHOL BLOW AT ALL ENTRANCES
@7 akuot….i agree with you on the part of arresting offenders amongst ourselves and handing them over to the police.i saw this happen once at the nyayo stadium though sadly that steam died out.
however,am not too sure about the introduction of alcoblow at all entrances.already our ticketing handling and management is such a huge challenge,how would we be able to handle alcoblow and the logistics involved?

1.They’re a bloated 14 in number, yet did not see the need of sending a representative to the SSMB meeting that ended in Nyamweya back stabbing GM with an additional “bond” of 1M. The FINANCIAL SABOTAGE OF K’GALO’s title chase was enhanced.
2.Bwana says we won’t pay, Faiz says we’ll pay,AR says GM to meet SSMB. Similar to Rama’s saga. JAKOYO IS RIGHT TOTAL TOTAL CONFUSION YET SOME STILL DEFEND THIS EC.
3.Like or not kshs 3.8M fine will adversely affect welfare of players/TB. Thats the club’s 1 1/2 months budget, almost 80% of cash required for hosting a CAF group match, maybe 7.5% cost of rehabilitating a stadium.
4.How much was Rama sold for officially? Was the cash banked or was GM paid cash in an envelope? I.e in AR/KILO/Ngala 3rd term. SHAME
** EC SIMPLY TEL SSMB/KPL/FKF THAT YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE SECURITY ISSUE. WHAT SECURITY PLAN DO THEY WANT YOU TO GIVE THEM THAT YOU HAVE’NT GIVEN THEM IN THE LAST 2 YEARS.
THE BILL IS NOW 3.8M BUT IF YOU DON’T LEAVE THIS SECURITY ISSUE IT WILL DOUBLE EVERY 3 GAMES.

Jokama even if some of us insist that the EC must stop this vice called hulliganizm i still believe its the work of the police to protect inocent people and the property,when these thugs cause mayhem at muthurwa how can the EC help that? when we uproot chairs how can the EC stop it these thugs even went to Bwana head and some of us make a joke about it that next time Bwana should go to olympics to represent kenya to compete with the likes of H Bolt its sad since these people r merciless they could av beaten these guy seriously,but since Bwana is not our relative we just but celebrate when he is in a problem,me personally i still insist the police must do their job,if its a mater of following them to there homes let be it,i wish to see one day on TV someone in court charged for one year without fine n this nonsense will stop am telling u.
As much as we blame the EC what have we as GM fans done to curb hooliganism? Though the EC has its weaknesses we are also to blame for cordoning some of these negative behaviours. Securit begins with you. When did you last teLl of guys selling alcohol, smoking bang being abusive to other gor fans or players,harassing members of the public. For controlling thousands of fans surely the EC can do nothing and only the law enforcers are able to do this. I have witnessed fans arresting trouble makers , handing them to police and only for them to be released

Its simple let SSMB take charge of the keys/security of their property, ONLY then will they hire adequate police & finally arrests & prosecution will take place.
There will b no shifting of blame mara away team, mara not our fans etc as everyone will have 2 abide by SSMB rules
The only reason EC of the big 2 want 2 handle security is 2 hire 200-300 ghost security youth 2 siphon funds frm the clubs & mis-manage the gates
From my observation, the guys who cause chaos are not many. They are a handful who in the first place do not pay attention to the goings on the pitch. They keep pacing around and howling very abusive words and touching every lady that passes along their way.Since they are few, I think the masses should stand up to them and make them realize that their actions are detrimental to the growth of the club. When I see some parents bringing their children along, it makes me happy because they are futuristic in their thinking, yet you have these guys doing these things.Probably at every match there should be announcement coming through the speakers to remind them of the need to keep good conduct.just a thought.

These guys operate in a group and you may try to arrest only to be beaten up. The police can flag them out and with a bit of intelligence arrest them even from the confines of their houses. Nobody will dare cause mayhem if he is not knows that he will be followed up and arrested later. The fear of the unknown will be the beginning of the end of hooliganism in our matches.

In order to help the team financially at this point let the EC charge 500/= bob for this game. In that case we can kill two birds with one stone i.e. get the money from the over-enthusistic fans from the shemejis as well as our fans and also to get something to pay the fines with.
Sorry! I am not attending this match of HOOLIGANS AND THUGS. I have a mortgage I am servicing and so spare me my life for my dear family!
