Tour of Muranga is an excellent idea

According to the story below from futaa.com, Gor Mahia will tour Muranga county. Adding a tour of places like Muranga to the annual tour of Nyanza is an excellent way to introduce the team to the people and hence create new fans. This is especially true for young children. If you win them early, you can turn them into long fans. Not only should Kogalo play friendlies

This writer was a ball boy at the Nyahururu stadium in 1988 when Kogalo went their to train for the upcoming Africa cup quarter final match against Inter Club of Congo. Every day Gor Mahia held open training sessions. The stadium in Nyahururu would be filled to the brim with fans coming to watch Kogalo plays who had become famous after the Africa cup triumph in 1987. I would hear the locals name the plays “Oyo ni Otieno Sorro” and “Oyo ne Onyago Fudi” in the local accent. All in all it was a good public relations exercise for the club.

Vice Chairman Faiz Magak has confirmed that after the Nyanza tour, Gor will organize another to Muranga, before February 2012.

-Football administrators from Muranga have requested that we pay them homage, and we intend to do this in January, he told Futaa.com.

-They [football representatives] have suggested 22 January, but we have to confirm on the suitability of the date with the technical bench.

    Let us pursue this executive.

Can admin explore this way by having the club to register more members and sell club merchadise at the same time? This is a big opportunity for our club to register more members and to bring on board more fans all over the country.

I appeal to office to let the club even visit Voi my home town.

This is the way to take club to fans and in expansion of fanbase.

Admin Office, just imagine if you can register 30,000 fans out of which 10,000 join the gold silver club by paying annual registration fee of Kshs.1000 while 20,000 fans become ordinary members by paying an annual fee of 200.

This eventually will translate to total registration of Kshs.14 million.

Imagime that we manage to sell 5000 club merchadise replica jersey at a margin of Kshs.1000. We will additionally raise Kshs.5 million. Total amount raised will be Kshs.19 million.

Office please let us use these trips for membership recruitment and build a database of members with itemised replica jerseys.

Let us explore these opportunities to ensure the brand sells all over the country.

Welcome to my backyard K’ogalo – there are so many Gor fans here in Central Province. It would be great if Gor played one of it’s home league matches in the area. Also play one of it’s home matches in Mombasa and Kisumu ……

Great idea to popularize the club by touring new locations. I agree with Mwakio, Club shud expand visits as well as sell merchandise while on tour. I once did a proposal of this nature to the Chairman (before we differed over Zico)and happy to share it with bloggers branch. Meanwhile, what r the club’s plans between now and Murang’a tour? Where will Kogalo be training for 2012 season? Updates on the signing of Kagere?

  • Mwakio you are a thinker ! unfortunate that we can not put you in a position in gor mahia to implement your brilliant, well thought out ideas. we need people like you in the administration of football in Kenya and the issues of financial problems will be a thing of the past.

Pod Antie and fellow bloggers, I also am trying to pursue a business proposal with the office. I had initially thought that the bloggers branch would have been the engine/medium by which we fans were to pursue all these great ideas (safaricom business no./merchandizing )with the EC.However we all know that bloggers response to the branch idea has been disappointing. Its all in our archives. If these ideas are implemented then b.branch would have taken the lead in being actively involved in activities which generate continuous income for GM and maybe even some return for its members-i.e a WIN-WIN situation for all. Perhaps lets rethink these ideas and how to implement them as a branch with a difference to make K’galo financially stable-Look @ what SP are asking for Mugalia and loosing good players to the more affluent clubs.
HAPPY 2012 to the entire GM community.

I would like to strongly urge the officials to pay an official visit to Hearts of Oak Ghana and see what they are doing

  • YOUR SUGGESTIONS IS NOT BUT WELCMEd

I read with keen interest your suggestions on how we can increase revenue foe our great club. Comrade Mwakio’s suggestion is not new but very much welcomed.

The officials are alive to the fact that it only enough resources that can propel this club into greater heights of success. As comrade Mwakio rightly suggested, one way we can increase revenue is by embarking on a massive membership recruitment drive throughput the country. It is now close to one month since the AGM and the new officials are yet to hit the ground running on this front.

It is a pity we are loosing very talented players to our perenial rivals just because we cannot pay them handsomely. Our officials need to devise strategies on how we can generate more revenue for K’Ogalo. Or else they should invite suggestions such as the one being advanced by comrade Mwakio.

  • Fellow bloggers let us make all these efforts and proposal to Admin. Gor belongs to all of us fans and if we can borrow leaves from Barcelona that was not having barca jersey sponsors for very many years used to raise their revenues through sale of their merchadise.

Yes, I know we can make it big for our club.

Admin please let us have forum to discuss how we can make Gor Mahia to have a sustainable financial model that will be supported by sale of club merchadise and timely renewal of membership fees.

If in the first year we can target fan base of 50,000 registered members and sale of 60,000 replica jerseys at a margin of Kshs.1,000 each and other related paraphanilias, then we would be able to pay our players well, build a club house, have our own stadia, build strong youth academy in all age categories, open distribution outlets for sale of our original merchadise, own a TV/radio station etc
