Zico says KPL is unpatriotic

KENYA tactician Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno has taken a swipe at the Kenya Premier League (KPL) accusing its officials of being “unpatriotic” for refusing to adjust league fixtures to accommodate Nations Cup preparations.

“What they are doing is wrong. Why are they having these fixtures when they know we have a very crucial match? It is the last match that we have to prepare for well and win and we need all the support that we can get,” said Otieno.

This followed KPL’s refusal to reschedule three matches this week: Mathare v Congo United, Sofapaka v Bandari and Gor Mahia v AFC Leopards.

Otieno, who has been under fire from both his club duties at Gor Mahia and the national team, will have to endure another tormenting moment when his side takes on rivals AFC Leopards in a local derby on Sunday.

I SUPPORT OGUDA’S DECISION & ZD SHOULD STOP CRYING FOUL

I don not see any tangible reason for KPL to adjust the fixtures. If anything Harambee stars line up will be dominated by foreign based players as usual and most of them will be reporting to camp in the course of next week.

Even the foreign based players have commitment to play this weekend for their clubs. According to FIFA the mandatory period for clubs to release players for NATIONAL duty is FIVE DAYS before the kick-off of the match.

ZICO’s main worry is how to attend to two important masters (KO’GALO & KENYA). ZICO should just relax and concentrate with HARAMBEE STARS preparation and let KO’GALO be handled with current team of technical bench who have been training the boys.

My take is that ZICO is slowly digesting the beginning of his own downfall on both fronts. IF GM wins the derby in his absence then that will confirm that he has been the main culprit with regard to the most recent dwindling performance trend.

If he fails to make with HARAMBEE in kampala then he should as well be sure that there will be no more room to accommodate him as the head tactician.

I WISH HE COULD HAVE SEEN THIS EARLIER & WE EVEN MENTIONED IT SEVERAL TIMES IN THIS BLOG.

Hakunaaa Bw coach do not blame any body, both fixtures have been on the cards for a long time ,it only required good planning. In any case you are the stars coach but your own team players are not there, they can only be substitutes; Why is George Odhiambo not in the team? where is the true talent of Kevin Omondi, is he not good enough for your HS? What about Masika, do you even realise that he is one of the best stoppers in the country at the moment? I have my serious doubts whether you understand your players, no wonder your fielding leave a lot to be desired. I think you are a talent killer thats why even Lavatsa is fading under your watch. I used to support you but now NO NO NO!!!

I believe KPL know better than to “pay a high premium for a doubtful insurance”.

Even the New Vision sports writer who filed this story knows that Zico has nothing to offer as a tactician.

The last kicks of a dying horse!!!. After he’s done us massive damage ati he opts to not sit on the technical bench clearly he’s loyalty is not to GM, Good riddance.
