Gor Mahia defensive ace Eric Ouma “Marcelo” has been nominated for Kenya Premier League Player of the year.
The 20 year old Ouma who joined Kogalo in January has had a superb season and is definitely the newcomer of the year. He has shown the maturity of a player who has been in the league for several years. He is confident going forward, coordinates well with team-mates and is among the e best crossers in the league.
He is part of a for five-man list that includes the Tusker duo of Humphrey Mieno and goalkeeper David Okello, while Ulinzi Stars marksman, John Mark Makwatta, who won the 2016 Golden Boot after scoring 15 goals. Also in the list is Kenneth Muguna, the tireless Western Stima midfielder.
Michael Olunga scooped the MVP award last year after an incredible campaign with Gor Mahia as the club marched to an unprecedented 15th league title without tasting defeat.
The awards gala will be held on December 14 at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
Western Stima warns Gor Mahia off Muguna
Gor Mahia coach Ze Maria has expressed an interest in signing youthful Western Stima midfielder Kenneth Muguna.
“Yes, we are looking forward to having Muguna in our team for next season. He is a quality player, who knows what to do on the pitch and one amazing thing is his work rate. He is one of the players we are targeting and hopefully he will be with us,” revealed a source within the team,” the source told Goal.
“He (Muguna) is one of our targets for next year because we definitely do not want to go home empty handed again like it was the case in 2016.” said Ze Maria
However Western Stima have indicated that they are not keen to offload Muguna
