Kogalo Ulinzi top 8 match abandoned
The top 8 encounter between Gor Mahia and Ulinzi was abandoned in the second half due to crowd trouble. The fracas ensued when an equalizing goal by new signing Moses Odhiambo was disallowed by the centre referee.
Ulinz took the lead in the 38th minute when a throw in by Mulinge Munandi created a goalmouth melee which Mike Baraza pounced on to score.Indeed Kogalo seem to have trouble dealing with dead ball situations.
Moses Odhiambo was yet again the most lively Kogalo player. His well freekick went into the roof of the net, only for the referee to flag Ivan Anguyo offside much to the chagrin of fans.
LET US CULTIVATE A CULTURE OF SPORTSMANSHIP
First, i was not feeling well so I followed the match on radio Jambo. I wish to condemn in the strongest terms the behavior of our fans last night. I agree completely that there was poor officiating. I think it is our high time to consider whether the people who sit on the Russia side of the stadium are genuine Gor Mahia fans or goons planted to tarnish our image infront of our sponsors. And if they are genuine fans, then they should know that they are doing this club great disservice.
Referees the world over are mere mortals and nicholas musonye was no exception.KPL should assign very authoritative refs to such highly charged matches. They should know that Gor still have an axe to grind with ulinzi. So yesterdays match only serve to continue the animosity(footballwise I mean).
Let us cross our fingers as we await the verdict from IDAC. There is no way we can ran away from this.
Mama maggie, over to you!
Haramu hailali…
Our next and only home game will be against AFC. I doubt if we will not have been banned and fined by then. Personally I thought we started the second half better and were going to win the game. As much as the ref was biased if only we were patient enough the result might have been different. My wonder is that if the players and officials, who were equally annoyed with the ref, pleaded with us to let the game continue and we refused what then who is the loser. And by the way in vandalising the opponents bus and stealing some of their things as I heard happened what message were we passing? What wrong did Ulinzi as a team commit? Our bus will soon be here. What happened if it is vandalised by the opposing team? Let’s not confuse some behaviour with love of the club. At this rate even the players from other clubs we are targetting will develop cold feet during the trnsfer period
we talked this jana before game hapa hapa tu first its how do we aproch game kama hii? ulinzi needed adraw tu .woi they scored sasa they were two goals up.wev to put alot of presr to scored why wait that long ,why should fans demand to change players ,?zedy fans plse tell him game kama YA ulinzi is hard game and they know how to waste time what do u do as acoach? ulinzi know how to play rugby then u put small legs there thinking they would give it easy ole wetu ma fans .REF YAWA LINESSMAN YAWA POO ,now fans hv done that yes we were wrong why? do this kenyan refs wach game ya ulaya kweli which school did they go bogus sana ,NOW WR ALL SIK OF ALL THIS . WHAT NEXT FANS
We are robbed of a goal and a penalty. KPL is letting fans down by always appointing inept referees and match officials. Where were the FIFA referees? For how long will KPL officials continue to keep silent whentheir officials are messing up the games?
To fans, we need to behave well and not turn violet because this is a game and we should restrain ourselves from throwing substances at the match officials and pitch.
Gor Mahia officials should make a strong protest to KPL on how poor the match was handled. We should be ready to appeal in case any action is taken against the team. My verdit: A replay should be considered.
GM played very poor in the 1st half with loss balls and inaccurate passes in the midfield after Colo Gatuso picked a knock from a rough play from Ulinzi players. Referee never stopped the game. However, in the second half GM dominated the game with several attacks and more pentration within the Ulinzi territory. We got a good goal but linesman was inept. The introduction of Anguyo changed the flow of the game and we dominated the play in the second half. On the goal scored by Odhiambo, I can confirm that Anguyo did not make any movement(s) at all and therefore did not interfere with the game. I cannot understand why the goal was disallowed.
What caused the problem for fans to react abnormally was due to a penalty appeal where the handball was very clear from all angles. From the several supersports replays, the goal and penalty were genuine. In passing judgement, IDAC should consider all reasons and pass a landmark judgement against the referee. The two officials were biased throughout the game.
It was shame for match officials to provoke fans.GOR FANS MOVEMENT are very loyal and down to earth but what happened jana hapana we were denied a clean goal and a clean penalty thats what provoked the fans. maybe the officials had hidden agenda about the match why do they want to take us back wea we came from.So who is to blame is it KPL or FKL? coz the REF & LINESMEN for this season is wanting though some are good.then i think also the TUZO DEAL that we got not everybody is happy.otherwise we played well.Pareyio Ole Lelerue pole wish u quick recovery but i wish you were at the Stadia.
Poor officiating is not a reason for a mature person to pick a stone and throw to others,am totally ashamed for what happened yesterday, the match still 23 minutes to play and there was no reason for the trouble.
Asiye kubali kushindwa si mshindani. Why is it always than whenever Gor Mahia FC play and that with a seeming loss, the crowd turns into hooligans? It is wrong, embarrassing, primitive to say the least. The K’Ogalo fans need to change.
I wondered what the refferee did. It was a clear goal, though I watched it on TV in MOmbasa where I reside, but that goal that was disallowed brought all the chaos. A clean goal denied, then a penalty denied! What, even if it were you, do you think would had have happened? SHAME ON THE OFFICIALS!!!
Truth be told, poor officiating especially against Gor Mahia imekuwa too much…this was not the first time and it was done in such a way that it was most irritating…how many times have the referees been punished for being unprofessional especially this year? Yet we complain, we calm and we walk away in peace. All we do is TALK! TALK! TALK!
Just because we love our team does it mean we coil our tails every time we are offended? Do we have to beg pls! pls! in every game that we play?
LET FOOTBALL BE A FAIR GAME, AND DON’T BRING POLITICS AND TRIBALISM IN FOOTBALL…
Time for action came and there’s nothing to apologize about…let KPL and its unqualified referees take responsibility, apologize to Gor and its fans and refund our money… We cannot waste our time and hard earned cash watching matches whose outcome have already been decided and finalized.
SHAME ON YOU REFEREE MUSONYE AND MAINA
CORRUPT & INEPT OFFICIATING RESULTS INTO HOOLIGANISM
I watched the match yesterday and really enjoyed the proceedings until all hell broke loose. I was very much embarassed with what happened afterwards. Gor fans are not the problem. Its all has to do with poor management of such high profile matches with respect to the officiating officials who seem to NOT understand the changing scenario in the rules of the game.
THE REFEREE & HIS ASSISTANTS,GOR fans, KPL , FKL, SUPERSPORTS crew ,ULINZI officials etc to name them were able to watch replays of each and every action of the match proceedings which were beamed live during replays’s on the GIANT TV at the Nyayo national stadium.
Ultimately we as GOR followers did not have any problem when ULINZI scored their goal. It was business as usual with people enjoying themselves with good football display from both sides.
It just about the kind of revolution required in “SOCCER MANAGEMENT”in kenya to raise the football standards in the country. Football without fans is all MONKEY BUSINESS. Fans are human beings and they have limits of tolerance. Its not RUSSIAN fans who stopped the match. But rather POOR OFFICIATING which calls for nothing short of HOOLIGANISM at the end. I DONT REGRET actions taken over GOR or neither its sponsorship deal with TUZO which is not a ticket to insight KOGALO followers.
GOR has been there with or without TUZO. Remember PEV “post elections violence” was triggered by CORRUPT and INEPT referee.
Alingo Akumu were u really at stadium?even a kid knows that we were robbed.
th e matches should be charged at kshs.500.00 for russia and 700.00 for centre stand if only to stamp out the hooligans yes we were robbed but how does throwing stones sort it out.
Lets have fewer fans but with discipline lock out the hooligans,it was very disapointing and shameful what happened imagine with the changes that happened we could have won the game……..mafans gani hawa.
I keep refering to them as changaa fans. Here they come again. I wonder what value this crop of so called fans add to Kogallo. The ref was totally against us, but the solution was not throwing stones. Stoneage behaviour must stop. @Paw akuche, I support the idea of increasing gate charges to lock out such characters.
@Paw Akuche and @Alingo Akumu, as long as the officiating is going to be handled poorly like what we saw yesterday, expect fans (even if they pay Kshs.1000 to watch the match) to continue behaving the same way they did yesterday. Officiating must improve in all the KPL games for peace to prevail and the onerous is on Jack Oguda and KPL to engage more qualified referees to improve the game.
I have no apology to make for fans GM behaviour. Though it was in a bad taste, we can not continue watching games with set fixed minds. The solution must be found to sort out this mess in KPL.
Let the Truth be told, poor and incompetent referees are the one to be blamed us agor mahia fan i have no apology to make kpl should be answerable for all those rubish that took place this was not the first time and it was done in such a way that it was most irritating…how many times have the referees been punished for being unprofessional especially this year
KPL TO TAKE THE LOSE
Guys, your comments are telling on the same thing, poor officiating and no to stones. The big book warns parents not provoke ch’ren, its actualy dangerous. People, no one supports all these and you are not sure of their wallet sizes, everyone coming to stadia is equal if anything those who brag of classes have ended up stealing from respectable offices including churches..infact paying more will make pple even more aggresive..
FOUR/FIVE POINTS
1.Match officials jana must take 80% of the responsibility for the abandonment of the match. Disallowing a genuine goal, penalty and allowing Ulinzi to waste time from the begining of the 2nd half.
2.K’galo holigans as much as I agree you’d every right to interfere with the game due to being incited to a high degree, destruction of stadium property and harassing of motorist was in bad taste. These are very innocent parties who might not even like football.Restrict your actions to inside the stadium.
3.Zico and the team jana was a great escape. The actions of the refs and fans have diverted attention from your ineptitude. What a useless first half, must Collo be crippled b4 he can be subed. Its not that GM raised their game, its that Ulinzi inexplicably decided to lower their game come 2nd half and resort to time wasting. Y when they were superior only God knows.
4.Severally in this site fans have complained about cheap liquor and bhangi smoking at GM matches, what have the police done about it apart from first leg against Ulinzi where a contingent sat next to the fans and for once the air was fresh. Its fans using extreme substances who went overboard. I hope they don’t say didn’t warn them.
5.Let true k’galo fans be identified by some kind of membership. Let them be regular financial contributors(financial) to the club so that when there is excessive fracas the coz can be identified.Let’s not be naive(this is Kenya) very soon (if not yet) there will be hired GM fans to discredit the club and take advantage of a political opportunity.
Long Live K’galo
WHERE DO THEY TRAIN THESE OFFICIALS?
Oduor 12, i agree with you,we cannot make GM matches an orgy of liquor, bhang and violence. But i totally disagree that the people who ‘odered’ the match stoped were all drunk! Some supported the act..i thank God almighty that none was hurt..truly demonstrations are good and healthy the way you think others are drunk is the same way impunists reason that others are from a given tribe lets provoke them and they’ll be banned then we go with 1milion! Only demos and mass protests..
Like fellow minded fans have posted here before, let’s not bury our heads in the sand. Our problems were compounded by the referee and his linesman but we always brewed it ourselves. Look at the way we played 1st half? Pathetic. Ulinzi ran rings round us and even though their goal was by no means spectacular, one can’t help feeling that they deserved it. My thoughts:
1. Why play Tony Onyango on the wing? Tony is definitely a good midfielder but his best moves come from behind the strikers. As always, he drifted again to the middle and left us badly exposed on the right. Makori made great crosses from the left but all went begging, with no response from the right, never mind that Tony never made even a single cross. You all want to tell me that Zico cannot see this, game in game out? Play Kiplagat in Tony’s position, with more play, he has the speed to rattle left backs and leave them in their wake. If we had him on the pitch, Ulinzi would have been dead and buried in the 1st half. warming the bench only makes them lose their flair and Zico will blame them when they take time to rise to the occassion again.
2. We dont have a midfield. We have some of trhe best midfielders (Akumu, collins) but our game is not flowing. I guess Zico claims to be tactful but folks we are not headed anywhere with this game. Look at the way Lavatsa is starved of passes. That youngster can score 20 goals in a season but no one feeds him with through passes. He has to track back so deep to get balls, surely that’s killing his career.
3. In the 2nd half we resorted to total football and anyone will tell you that it was the players reaction to the realizatio that a scoring draw was not enough for Mighty Kogalo. The players couldn’t let down the 10,000 or so partisan fans. It was by no means Zico’s plan. It’s the game we want. It’s the game we crave for. It’s the game that can give Kogalo the title this season.Folks trust me, it’s not Zico’s game.
4. The ref denied us a clear goal because he has ultimate authority to overrule the linesman(who later confided in Jerry-our goalie, that he didnt know what he was doing). The officials again denied us a clear penalty and the fans could not be faulted for not holding back their emotions. They had to let go. Here KPL let us down. How do you allow officials who know nothing about football take charge of any Gor game? It’s criminal. Good football starts with officiating.
kogallo is the team to watch even if they are opressed by the referees.Go Kogallo Go.
no way out………. the officials are quiet I wonder what goes thro Rachier’s mind he must take action haki i miss Moi’s way of doing business-he could have spoken his mind by now.the hooligans are spoiling for the club and nobody is talking i wish the fans are banned from the stadium for 10 matches you see you dont throw stones in to the stadium, you never disrupt the game instead you play well,if need be buy the ref like what man u does with howard webb whatever but you dont interfere .if you cant bear loosing you go drink beer but you dont creat a problem in the stadium enda zusha kwa bar away from kogalo the team.pllllllllleeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeeee…..i dont feel proud and nobody will want to be associated with a green army of stone throwers(even tuzo) condensed in the past, shame on this fools afterall kogalo has won nothing for the past 16 years and they never died why do they think they will die now if kogalo looses?and now this guy oguda of kpl why is he scared of punishing the club to force Rachier to take action ?let rachier increase the gate charges to 500.00 and 700.00 to make it costly to watch kogalo play afterall tusker ,sofapaka, ulinzi thika utd etc have no fans but play football without hooligans coz why have many fans such that you cant control them? for 100.00 bob will you allow some one to destroy a brand you’ve taken a lifetime to build? well, if they have to, let them pay 5 times if that’s not enough raise it again untill it gets out of reach for the fools so that they cant come in to the stadium, simply do a lockdown and there is no way out………..
@Paw Akuche, please stop fooling us with your unsubstantiated comments. If you do not want to associate with GM, then you better stay away from GM.
I think what we need on this site is creating AWARENESS AND EDUCATING OUR FANS TO BEHAVE WELL DURING ALL OUR GAMES but not talking about others not wanting to associate with GM. We should ALWAYS CONTINUE appealing to our fans to maintain peace instead of engaging to violent activities. As much as we blame the behaviour of our fans, we need to re-examine our roles as fans of the club to bring all stakeholders in educating our fans.
I hate hooligans but we need to address it and come up with a lasting solution to handle this form of form of violence. Instead of resorting to violence, we need to embrace the culture of peaceful demonstration and present our concerns and memorandum to the relevant bodies such as KPL, FKL, Ministry of Sports, Police, GM executive Committee etc.
Mafans please hooligan is very common even in Europe. Who are more hooligans in the football fraternity like the England Lion supporters? What about Turks? What about South American countries football fans?
Hooliganism can only be stopped or reduced by creating forums whose mandates are to:-
1. EDUCATE THE FANS,
2. HAVE RING SECURITY ALL OVER THE STADIUMS & TERRACES,
3. INVOLVE FANS IN SOCIAL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES WHERE SUCH ENERGIES OF THROWING STONES CAN BE PRODUCTIVELY DIRECTLY TO BENEFIT OTHER MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY,
4. ENGAGE FANS BY HAVING WEEKLY/MONTHLY BRIEFINGS TO FANS ON CLUB WEBSITES AND OTHER SPORTS WEB PAGES,
5. USE UNBIASED MEDIA/PRESS TO EDUCATE MEMBERS AND FANS ETC.
Castigating fans will not help the authority to stamp out such hooliganism like what I have read in the Daily Nation and Standard Newspapers. Media/Press has a big role in educating the fans. GM is a mass movement and I will continue to support GM.
We are K’Ogal followers, we are always decent, we accept defeats, the 1st incident during Gor Rangers being a different case which we apologized. But the Wednesday game, surely we were provoked. I was hit by stone on my hand and believe me the pain of what ref infringed in me was more than the pain I received from the stone. Every one know whats K’Ogalo fans feel when they are cheated on.
I was away but watched the game on TV. Yes we were robbed on the goal and the handball. But how does throwing missiles at the officials help? How, just tell me how does it help? We have the Rangers case pending and now this? What is this surely? Sometimes I have had to sit on the Russian side of the stadium and I can tell you what I have seen there cannot pass as support for the club, it is sheer hooliganism; drunkennes, open bhang smoking, name calling players, name it!!!! I am ashamed. Let IDAC come down. What about the sponsors? What about the office, when will they have education sessions with the supporters? It does not cost anything but they have not done any thing since.
It is with a heavy heart as a Gor Mahia fan (present and correct at the Nyayo National Stadium on that infamous day) and having reviewed FIFA’s Laws of the game (2009/2010 edition) that I have to admit that Moses Odhiambo’s ‘goal’ was in fact offside.
Regarding an offside offence, Rule 11 of the Laws of the game (2009/2010 edition) provide as follows:
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position
Rule 11 of the Laws of the game further define “interfering with an opponent”, to mean preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent.
the goal was a text book offside offence as Ivan Anguyo was obstructing the goalkeeper’s line of vision.
Having said that and being one of those who at first thought the referees was wrong I wish to take this earliest opportunity to unreservedly apologise to all those affected by the actions that were apparently based on an ignorant appreciation of the laws of the game.
Maybe it high time the fans let the referees do their job.
BE WARNED “The Awe-mysterious MAHIA is back”
Being a fanatic member of “GOR MAHIA MOVEMENT” Since late nineteen seventy my encounters and experiences has been very mysterious with the club. It lead me to do a sociological research on the real person namely: “GOR wuod OGADA”, “OGADA wuod OGALO” hence the name “GOR KO’GALO”.
As long as you associate with GOR MAHIA FC, i beg you all supporters that be prepared for any eventuality, BE IT GOOD or BAD. GOR is a name but MAHIA phenomenon for both a “Phobia” and a “Maniac” that even former president, MOI could not take way. In other words MAHIA is a HONO.
After along spell of fan base black-out to the club, the mysterious “MAHIA” is back with a bang. The spirit hovering with the “GREEN ARMY” in all corners of country irrespective of financial cost incurred during their HOME and AWAY matches.
Last year during a “late evening kick off” when Musa Mohamed slotted the penalty during GOR vs POSTA RANGERS match a young fun warned his friends of doing the most unthinkable thing if the ball is scored, he decided to do an “over-head jump to death”. Then came the “late evening derby” between AFC and GOR and there was a stamped that killed both young and promising Ko’galo fans.
As long as you are a convicted GOR MAHIA (maniac-“Too Dreadful”) or (Phobia-“Fearful”) be ready for the eventuality or encounters that go along with the club. That is what GOR MAHIA is,will be and will for ever be.
That is how i was convicted into GOR MAHIA fraternity “WORLD VIEW” and i have lived peaceful with it during the hard and good times.
The writing is already on the wall. Government can not offer enough security during “GOR-SIRKAL”matches because of political reasons, increasing the gate charges can not stop the spirit of “MAHIA” from the supporters to attend matches.
The supporters are people from all walks of life and their passion for GOR is purely to be in tandem with the most popular and fashionable soccer club with mass following in East & Central Africa.
Ladies and Gentlemen, its high time you realize that its up to you to take your personal responsibility while enjoying Ko’galo matches live in the stadiums with regard to safety and security for both human and physical assets.
THAT IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A FOLLOWER.
its sad that mwakio is unable to get what am trying to say here coz its so simple DONT DISRUPT THE GAME IN ANY WAY COZ FIFA DOES NOT ALLOW THAT -PERIOD.its not negotiable whether its kogalo or zamalekor canon sports/afc leopards which are also much loved, you will be punished my friend be wise.neither do agree with jabilo -kogalo is a peaceful club and as such we can only comment here that jabilo is entitled to his opinion as poor as it is.kogalo is not a team followed by losers and i dont want to even contemplate.i have supported the team that i was introduced to by my late father in ’85 as a toddler but that does not mean that we tolerate hooliganism coz i think that is being petty.let me pose a question …….the ref favoured ulinzi you threw stones whoever the fools are cos am sure they are not gormahia fans they destroyed property, first the team looses three points and a chance to win 1 million and two the team has to foot the bill for what was destroyed ,now tell me how much will they contribute?….considering that you they a miserly kshs.100.00 which cannot even buy a packet of unga and you see some of those nicompops writing here to defend the
hooligans…….wayaw pachwa, there is no other way
out….. you may wonder why am looking at the financial element its because it runs the show anywhere and if you still dont get it look at the european platform and you will understand what am talking about …….
@PAW AKUCHE you can’t be more right. We cannot destroy property, cause the match to be abandoned then think that we have done a heroic thing. Was just lining my office colleagues to come and watch GM play but after the fiasco they have all vowed to continue supporting their teams from the pubs. That means a few potential fans lost and even the merchandise they had promised to purchase from the club is now in jeopardy. If this happens to a quarter of our fan base then we need to reaxamine ourselves. The positive publicity we have been getting from the press and which was responsible for the value of GM rising far above any other club locally is also in danger if the negative stories are not reversed by us the fans. Let’s use that extra energy in doing some CSR for the club. And let’s get bang smoking from the GM matches pleeeeease. It’s not cool at all. Otherwise best of wishes for our Sunday match. I have a feeling that we are going to win that match. Let’s start scoring many goals and the referee won’t have any reason to disaalow all of them. Let’s also not delude ourselves. as some fans are saying, that GM cannot be banned and/or fine. This has been done before and we all know how painfull it was especially to the players and the management. Guys, let’s all be real and try to EDUCATE those few amidst us who cannot differetiate genuine support and criminal activities. Have a fruitful sunday outing
THAT IS THE REALITY OF THE MATTER
Gentlemen, Please get me right! PAW AKUCHE and JON. That is the reality of the issue at stake. Ask yourself was instigated the violence on the fateful day and the chronolgy of events will answer as follows;
1. Gor Mahia dead ball free kick goal is dis-allowed.
2. Gor Mahia penalty request turned into a corner ball.
3. Players frustrated, angered and gets emotional with
referee decisions.
4. Main stand supporter’s or The kshs 300/= follower’s
starts wailing with “WAR SONGS” KIDIII KIDIII KENDE.
5. Russian stand or the kshs 100/= gets calls, text SMS
and all kind of incitement from the the so called
SUPERIOR POCKET supporter’s from the main stand.
6. The GOONS in RUSSIAN STAND decides to burn
“FIRE-WORKS”,smoke BHANG and intoxicate themselves
with anything consumable until they are drunk.
The GOONS then decide that they descend at MAIN-STAND PAVILION after the super “Dip-Pocket” inciters have left for there cars safely and drove out the stadium premises.
“WHO IS FOOLING WHO” PAW AKUCHE & JON.
Who bothers if GOR MAHIA is BANNED or FINED. Are you forgeting that “Poor officiating caused ABBAS KHAMIS MAGONGO aka “ZAMLEK” and five other gor players to be suspended during CAF match between ZAMALEK and KO’GALO in CAIRO-EGYPT 1985. And the proceeding year in 1986 GOR won the East and Central championship minus the six after winning the league title.
GOR IS BIGGER THAN ANY OF US. GOR MAHIA FRATERNITY HAS NO ROOM FOR COWARDS,SELFISH AND PROUD CHARACTERS.
HOOLIGANISM IS THERE TO STAY IN GOR MAHIA AS LONG AS INCOMPETENCE OFFICIATING EXISTS,IAM WRITING FROM AN INFORMED POINT OF VIEW WITH HISTORICAL FACTS.
YOU BETTER STYLE-UP OR “KEEP OFF GOR-PERIOD”
Okoth & Mwakio you’re talking as real peace makers. Unlike others using this forum to parade abuses learnt in place of morals.. 1.Fans did not protest the ulinzi goal. 2. If everyone protesting is worth the words these pretenders are writing then who knows what they are..3. It is in this forum that we condemed harassment of ladies and it reduced or stoped! 4. We never abused anyone. 4. These abusivd guys are entitled to their manners nowhere including their homes! 5. The only problem with 07 is that it turned to pev but its the best gift to our country ever..
Two wrongs don’t make a right.the entire Gor family was aggrieved by the poor FKL/KPL officials. It is very sad to leave your place of work in the evening psyched for a match of that magnitude only for things to turn out bad.
Competent officials ought to be recruited by FKL/KPL to avoid the same from occurring. Our players are human beings and they also get frustrated as we fans do; more so if you give your all and robbed of a goal the way it happened.I disagree with those advocating for price increment coz to me it will not solve the problem .As a staunch Gor fan,we are known to be going everywhere to support our team irrespective of the fares and the gate charge.
To our lovely coach Zico, its high time he gives us something to smile about murmurs have been going round about his fielding and tactics.Ist have Ulinzi dominated a lot it was only in 2nd half that we were playing with intent.Had we not got a goal Zico could have been in trouble by now. What fans did was as a result of the poor officiating though it was not justified at all.We have been peaceful all along and even apologized for what happened in our game against posta rangers, but this;they ought us an apology.
A GOR MAHIA FANS ASSOCIATION?
Alot of water has passed under the bridge since last wednesday’s night chaotic scenes at the nyayo national stadium that saw the top 8 tournament match between Gor and Ulinzi abandoned. Prime minister Raila Odinga, sports minister Paul Otuoma and football lovers have continued to express mixed reactions on the behavior of Gor Mahia fans. Perhaps it is high time the independent displinary and complaints (IDAC) committee crack the whip. I do hope the newly elected IDAC officials will move with speed to execute their mandate without fear or favor.
Allow me to make a suggestion which i strongly believe will improve our image as fans. I have in mind a Gor Mahia fans association. This will act as an oversight body as well as micro managing all of registered branches. Fans can register individually or corporate (branches ). As things stand now, there seem to be a disconnect between branches and registered office. This is the only way we can hold rowdy fans responsible.
Finally, iam saddened to read from your posts that guys do not feel remorseful of their wednesday’s chaos. Please swallow your pride. This is 21st century football. Appeals are lodged at the end of the game. Thanks.
THE CHAOS THAT ERUPTED ONLY MASKS THE GLARING DEFICIENCIES IN THE TECHNICAL BENCH.WE WERE HAMMERING LONG BALLS INTO THE ULINZI HALF WHILE IGNORING THE AERIAL SUPERIORITY OF THEIR DEFENCE.THIS IS THE SAME TACTIC THAT WE USED AGAINST SOFAPAKA AND DREW.THIS TACTICS HAS RESULTED IN A NONEXISTANT MIDFIELD ,THE IMMINENT DEPARTURE OF KITAWI & THE GOAL DROUGHT OF ODERA.OUR ATTACK HAS SOME OF THE SHORTEST PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE YET THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CHASE & WIN AERIAL BALLS?!! CITY STADIUM HAS THE BEST TURF IN THE COUNTRY YET WE CANT KEEP THE BALL DOWN.AKUMU,KITAWI,ODERA ,ODHIAMBO,GATTUSO ARE VERY GOOD BALL PLAYERS YET FOR STRANGE REASONS WE KEEP PUNTING THE BALL FORWARD.ANY BALL KICKED FORWARD IS A 50/50 BALL WHILE ANY GROUND PASS TO A COLLEAGUE IS AN ADVANTAGE AT HAND.SPAIN,BRAZIL,HOLLAND,ARGENTINA,BARCELONA ARE THE FINE EXAMPLES OF THIS KIND OF PLAY AND THEIR TRACK RECORDS ARE THERE FOR ANYONE TO SEE.ZEDDYS TACTICS ARE BELOW PAR AND HE IS A VERY POOR READER OF THE GAME.WHO CAN SELECT THE WOEFUL SHIKOKOTI INSTEAD OF THE STABLE MUSA MOHAMMED OR THE VERSATILE JOACKINS ATUDO?,THE OUT OF SORTS NYAGA INSTEAD OF THE HARD WORKING ODHIAMBO WHOM HE COACHES OR THE BRILLIANT WERE? THE ALWAYS ALERT MASIKA AND THE PENSIONER EDGAR OCHIENG ? ZEDDY AKO DOWN.HAJUI KUWA ANA THE BEST TALENT IN THE LEAGUE NA SUPPORTERS WA NGUVU LAKINI HAWEZI KUDELIVER.
Having read the comments here and in other places i can say without fear of contradiction, that we have enough haters. How does someone condemn the whole Gor fraternity as hooligans yet from what i saw its just a few elements who are hellbound to tarnish the name of the club. I propose to rid ourselves of these hooligans, technology be used to smoke them out. In Europe they zero in on these ilk using cameras, publish their faces and label them criminals bound for prosecution. I think this is the only way the club and law abiding club fans will be able to earn respect and at the same time protect its image. KPL and other haters must move away from victimising the club and focus on this method of smoking out this thugs coz they are not fans but criminals who should be charged with damage to property and charged before the court of law. I can assure all this will kill this stupid and cowardly act by the few individuals. I want my pride back like yesterday which was stolen by this small thinking thugs with no care for what their actions are causing.
Gor vs Ulinzi match 2 b replayd in an empty stadium.kidi kende!
no apologies for the hooliganism, such kind of game needs competent and credible referee and there assistants.
as far as i am concerned as a true gor fan.the referee had good opportunity to reward the penalt which he didnt??
while i agree that the fan base of gor is a plus both financially and moral boost during any encounter.then let me state clearly here that gor fans are becoming inurious not only to the football club but even to my most innocent community.i know many will question my arguement but enough is enough,i myself my not be following these team the way others do,but if your following of the team can only result on what happened during the encounter with ulinzi then pliz stay away with your money if it is what keep this team going.am sic of the term “luos are stone throwers”.these is the injury your causing to my very dear community.a community many are working very hard to sell.
okoth jabilo it is you who will quit.and you must stop these silly history of 1985.those were then.you must wake up and realize the world has changed.and if to wake you up further, how many of those magongo do you see today in the field?they retired and let them retire peacefully with their history.and with the kind of reasoning and mentality,we will force you to retire with them.
Though we were robbed a good game,Kpl should order a re match and ban the funs from the pitch
mama maggie thats too harsh kuwa mpole.atleast of of the three thats players, ref and kpl there must be one person to blame.
