David Otti

He is considered the most successful Ugandan coach ever. He started working with Gor Mahia in 1979 and took over as head coach in 1981. Under him, Gor Mahia won the 1981 CECAFA cup. he had also played a pivotal role in enabling Gor Mahia win the 1980 CECAFA cup.

Otti had played for the Uganda Cranes starting in 1960 at age 20. In 1971 he went for a coaching course in West Germany and was appointed the coach of the Uganda team for the CECAFA junior challenge cup. In 1973 he was appointed coach of the Uganda Cranes. Under him , they qualified for the 1976 Africa Nations cup.  

Otti left Gor Mahia in June 1982 to take the position of Secretary General in the Uganda Ministry of sports.
