Sserunkuma: Gor Mahia has betrayed me

courtesy of futaa.com

Following allegations by Gor Mahia officials that the club had not released Dan Sserenkuma to attend trials in Europe, the dimunitive Ugandan striker has hit back at them saying they betrayed him.

The obviously disappointed Sserenkuma continues to insist that his plan to travel abroad was well communicated to the club long before he jetted out of the country.

How can they deny

-For the past few days, in Armenia, I have been so unhappy and feel betrayed, wondering – what have I done wrong to deserve this? How can these two top people (Ambrose Rachierand George Bwana)  in my club say that I sneaked out of the country? How can these two people say that I did not inform them of my travel to Armenia? How can they now deny that my agent did not inform them of my trials which they were happy to let me go and wished me all the best? lamented in a communique to futaa.com,

-Why would i sneak out of the country why I still have a one and half year contract with Gor Mahia and knowing fully that this could put me in trouble with my club and ruin my chances of playing for my country Uganda? Why cant these two people come out and tell the Gor Mahia fans the truth? Why put the blame on me and my agent? Please don’t do this to me – I have been loyal to Gor Mahia and will always remain loyal, but let the fans know the truth – they deserve to know the truth,

The Truth

I feel so much pain in my heart, but I know that the Gor Mahia fans know the truth. When my agent had a deal for me to leave in January, we both approached our former coach and he informed me that even though he would not stand in the way of a players trial, he was under a lot of pressure to let me go at that time. He spoke with my agent and promised him that he will let me go in June when another opportunity comes. My agent advised me to stay and help my club in the intercontinental competition and promised to find me a club for trials in the next transfer window and kept to his words,

-Last week, my agent again informed me of another opportunity to go on trials in the Eastern European region. This time around, he again advised me to speak with the Gor Mahia Hierarchy which I did . They agreed that I should go and were happy for me  and wished me the best of luck and my agent spoke to them too,

Deeply hurt

-I have been on trials here in Armenia in the last seven days and everything is going on well – the FC Banants coach is satisfied with my performance so far and the club is keen to sign me on loan. But I have been deeply hurt with the way I have been treated. I have been informed that myself and my agent might be reported to FIFA. How have we managed to arrive to this? I am really disappointed, he added in the communique.

Sserenkuma joined Gor Mahia in June 2012 from Nairobi City Stars on a two year contract.

I am also disappointed at my club Gor Mahia officials. shame on you Chairman and Secretary. He is the clubs finest and the most successful in the resent past and did not deserve this. Shame on these corrupt officials who do not have the clubs interest at heart but their selfish interests of sharing transfer fee from the deal. no-wonder they did not want to field him

And the truth shall always come out. I thought our officials know the mentality of Gor fans. When we love we love with the whole heart but when we hate it becomes disaster. Even Loga was a victim of that. Let’s hope sanity retruns as soon as possible. At least Rama is now back in training

  • @ 1 Otuol Otuol you’re right Dan “Flava” Ssrenkuma was probably being frustrated by officials. How do you explain last year top scorer / player for the club suddenly being benched for “lack of form”

  • Gor officials knew everything but because of fans pressure they are trying to pretend.I don`t know how many months have remained with Rama`s contract. If he is getting a good deal he might buy the remaining months if less than 6.Thus Gor will have lost.We made a mistake so is better if we sell him at the highest possible price.

  • Oduor12 and i have insisted on an office you see….the greedy elected officials running the club to get rich shindwe! vote this Rachier, Bwana,Faiz and all these funny funny hungry guys OUT and elect on the platform that we shall have a fully fledged office running the club complete with a CEO FINANCE AND ADMIN GUY PRO ETC.Imagine there is no written communication from Danny requesting to leave though i believe him and wish him the best, that is why the officials tried to hide everything…its horrible.
All communication MUST always be in writing hata kwa muhindi you know Gor is being run Jua Kali aaah this is disgusting i wonder if you guys feel me.Change the constitution whatever to get professionals to handle the club not this filthy cheats you know football is big business and the business side must digitalise hivi hakuna mahali tunaenda …..na hii mikora?

  • It is unfair to block the opportunity that comes on any player’s way.By leaving the club simply highlights the club’s profile. I don’t know who is saying the truth but dialogue is key to the success of the club and the player. Gor has been there, it there and will always be there. Let the young man go in peace and club should negotiate the fee that if well utilized, can help develop the youth team for future succession. What plans do we have for the youth team?
