Sserunkuma returns

After close to ten days out in Armenia where he tried out with Armenian top flight side Banants FC, who offered him a six months contract, Gor Mahia striker Dan Sserunkuma has all but given up on his Armenian dream and has opted to return home to help Gor Mahia clinch the 2013 Kenyan Premier League title.
His trip to Eastern Europe for the trials has been shrouded in controversy as he was accused of ‘sneaking out’ without the club’s consent.
No head way
His agent Ken Joseph has been castigated by both his club Gor Mahia and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for being behind Sserunkuma’s move and the two are considering reporting him to FIFA for ‘unethical’ misconduct.
After soul searching, Sserunkuma has decided to forget about greener pastures, for now, as there seems no head way in his anticipated switch from Kenyan to Armenia football.
In an express communiqué to futaa.com, this is what the former Nairobi City Stars player,
I have been punished
-I am disappointed with the way things have turned out in Armenia. It is every player’s dream to make it in trials and sign a contract with a club.
-But in my case, I passed my trials, the coach and players like me but yet we cannot reach an agreement because I have been punished for ‘sneaking out’ of the country which is just not true.
-I guess there is nothing else I can do at this stage but to go back to my club Gor Mahia. The Armenian transfer window closes in seven days and I do not think this issue can be sorted out at this stage.
Win the league
-I would like to thank my family, my agent and the Gor Mahia fans for all the support they have shown towards me in the past 7 days.
-I will do my best for Gor Mahia to make sure that we win the league this time around. Every disappointment is a blessing, he added in his parting shot
Sserunkuma was acquired by Gor in June 2012 on a two year contract.
The whole episode has been clouded with mistery and controversies between the EC, player and agent such that the rest of us are left wondering who between them says the trueth. It is thus not easy to give a fair judgement on this matter as at now but what is clear is that we have all learnt a lesson.
You are so right Mboya Obendi – this whole saga had so many intrigues, it was like watching one of those Mexican soap operas !
One thing that this will prompt is the sychronization of the Kenyan Leaugue calender with the most of the European Leagues’ calenders.
I hope that this whole saga has not soured Danny Flavor’s and Rama Salim’s enthusiasim for playing for our beloved Gor.
Go Gor !
Go Gor !!
Go Gor !!!
It’s said in kiswahili, KUVUNJIKA KWA MWIKO SIO MWISHO WA KUPIKA. Let’s forget about the past and move on.By doing so you become a real hero. “Forward ever backward never”
We may blame the office for this saga but then we must ask at the same time where is the interest of these players. If they really loved Gor,it was only 11 matches to go and they could have held on until end of this very critical season knowing how hungry the team is for the title. They clearly had timed their act in such a way that it was to hurt most. I blame them for this for for not being sensitive to the needs of the team, even as they have the right to look out for greener pastures.Big question now: will they play again effectively for the club?
IN LIGHT OF THIS HORRENDOUS SAGA , THANKS TO EC !!! AM NOT SURE IF DANNY AND RAMA HAS ANY INTEREST (MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ) IN BEING AT GOR MAHIA AT THE MOMENT…….IT IS ONLY FAIR THAT WE RELEASE THEM AT THE END OF THE SEASON !!! GOOD LUCK DANNY AND RAMA
4 now all i can say is that Dan “Flava” they may have loved you in Armenia BUT GOR LOVED YOU MORE. I 4 ONE DON’T DOUBT YOUR COMMITTMENT. WELCOME BACK.
MY GRADTITUDE ALSO GOES TO THE GOR FANATICS/DAMU YOU ONCE AGAIN FORCED THE EC TO PUT GOR FIRST, I ONLY ASK THAT IN FUTURE JUST HOLD A PEACEFUL DEMO OR SIT IN. DESTRUCTION IS NOT NECESSARY.
P.S @ Ochoro while acknowledge your sentiments i may opt to continue with the awareness since bloggers have not reacted either in favour or against either views.
What an eventful week this was, since the shameful events of Kasarani! It all serves the EC right. At long last, their own hyenas, crocodiles, dogs, monsters, and serpents are now gnawing at them. Yes, that was just mere gnawing…a bite is yet to come and it will come.
Eventually the EC now have an opportunity to experience what innocent Kenyans have been going through. The very same dogs they have always protected have now turned against them. (I have just been doing some catch up and I came across Oduor12’s moving comment on THE WOMAN AND HER DAUGHTER. Thanks bro. May God renew your strength and relentless effort to advocate for sanity of all. Do not relent on your advocay for sound, reliable leadership in K’Ogalo come the next club elections). Actually you owe no one any apology for aligning yourself with K’Ogalo legends.
5000 blogs in deed and the EC would rather go for ineffective peace messages on handkerchiefs rather than tackle the menace head-on by enforcing registration of fans through their branches and keeping an updated electronic roll. As Dan puts a mere 100 unregistered hooligan fans have now made Gor Mahia pay a hefty 2.2M fine in addition to damaging the club’s reputation further as well as embarrassing the millions of decent, sober and peace-loving law-abiding fans. I consider it the height of arrogance for any member of the “community” to allege that Kasarani seats were not damaged by GM fans.
As for the Rama-Dan saga, let us accept the boys back into the fold unconditionally. They could have erred. We all err at one time or another. They could have been fixed by the insincere EC and that is most unfortunate. To the Efusi fans who were celebrating, pray hard that this time it won’t be a hat-trick.
I like the way Dan has conducted himself over the issue. Am sure he will go places. He will still find another opportunity if he can compose himself. Am stil left to wonder, Dan wanted to go for trials in January, but arranged with the former coach to do it in June. Since that was the agreement at the time, he could have again talked with the club when the time reached. He just assumed he had done it before. But i wish him all the best. @ Oduori 12 my friend, ave always liked your sentiments, but on the elections please let the opportune time come.
Amesoment for you dan
