Former Kogalo star George “Blackberry“ Odhiambo is set to leave the Danish club Randers FC during the winter transfer window in order to get game time before returning. The Kenyan came a year ago in Denmark, but adapting to Danish football has not been easy. He has played only one game for the club, which was relegated in the meantime.
He still has three and a half years contract. “I am looking for a club in Europe that George gets the playing time, and shows his value in Europe, but he remains in the long-term plans of the club,” said his agent.
From bold.dk
“Blackberry” has played 16 times for the the national team. His lack of playing time has Randers has brought his international career to a standstill.
“We must remember that George is only just 19 years and he must still adjust to life in Europe and the Danish form of football. He has shown great potential when he played, but there are many established attackers in Randers, so it has been difficult for him to succeed, says agent Ed Stoner for Blackberry to Danish website bold.dk.
– I am looking for a loan for George, so he can get some playing time and show Europe what he can. Randers and I agree that it is the best option because he is still an important part of their long term plans.
– There has been interest from teams all over Europe, George is still midfielder, and he is still considered one of the greatest talents in African football, says the agent.
Please come home if this team is not using you, i know you have a 4 year contract with them but whats the use if they are not using you. you are still the best. we miss you yawa.
He should stay in Europe and fight for a place. If not at Randers then go elsewhere.
Kenya players are having a difficult time in Europe. Even Mariga is fed up because he does nothing but warm the bench. Kenya needs to pull up its socks when it comes to preparing players for the rigours of Europe.
BLACKBERRY EUROPE IS NOT HEAVEN. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO HORN YOUR SKILLS IN AFRICA……..PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR OPTIONS WISELY
Take the next flight home one slot is already preserved for you
come back and join sofapaka they may pay you well.
george keep on working hard to prove to the world ur the best.

blackberry, i strongly believe in your abilities, skills & composure. to me you are a star. all you need is patience, hard work & engagement. your bet is in europe because once you make it there, you make it everywhere. as a kogalo diehard, you are always endeared to my heart. all the best
kogallo diehard
Blackberry..i always pray for you…you need to succeed.
Come back home boy meanwhile when your agent is working on your placement. They will spot you only when you are playing which you will do in any team in Kenya including the Harambee stars-90 minutes in every game.
Ngwa is back in Kogalo why not you?
Think young boy think.
Black Berry, Stay in Europe let you not be misled..if you make it in Europe you make it anywhere.
Be patient and let your agent negotiate a loan move for more playing time for you, i also believe you have a decent pay there..
Do not be duped back into small time thinking Kenyan football. Remember you could do better living well, supporting other young children become footballers thereby playing a big role for country and God rather than coming back to work for politicians and Juju mongers.
Be wise keep it at Randers thats your professional Home and hope.
Blackberry stay put there in Europe and just work hard. You will become a big star. Forget about what our short termism bloggers are telling you to come back home to do what? Please bloggers you should instead encourage the young lad to work hard and stay in Europe. How long did it take Oliech to play regularly for his team?
We need to encourage the player to work hard as his time will come.
Though we are missing your services, just train hard and remain discipline there in Denmark. You will go very far with discipline and hard work Blackberry.
Bloggers you need to think with your brains before you post in this site. It is regrettable that you are encouraging Blackberry to come back. To do what in Kenya!!!! God need to open your thinking capacity before you post such comments.
@mwakio please dont encourage this young to stay in Europe and waste himself if he is not playing he need to come back, our league has improved, look at Mariga just one word (BENCH) thats what they are doing to him in a very weak team. That team cannot even beat Gor Mahia
motema is too funny. Eti our league has improved. 🙂 🙂 Just the other day, Mike Okoth was on TV saying how poor the standards of KPL were.
Sometimes a player has to bear the pain of warming the bench before he can establish himself.
Mugubi Wanyama warmed the bench for 2 years in Belgium before he established himself. He had to learn to play in the European system.
Blackberry is in the same boat now. Just needs to focus, ask his coaches for advice on his weaknesses. I think the biggest weakness of most Kenya players is lack of tactical awareness. European leagues are highly tactical. Kenyans are light years behind. Blackberry’s game will not improve in Kenya. There is nothing new he can learn in Kenya. He needs to sharpen his skills in Europe. And if he plays well, he has a better chance of going to a big league. Just like Maruiga did.
I am sure there is a team in Denmark or Sweden that can use him. Even if its a lower division. He can play there for 6 months or so. He is better off even going to Qatar because at least there he will make money.
@joe, all older players like Mike Okoth says the same crap how bad the league is because when they were playing no one was paying them, Now we have a better league that has money involve and players like Mike Okoth can talk all they want. I think we have a better league.
@Motema
Its true that players are now better paid. But the standards are still low. Player quality is low. If not then how come these same players cant even beat CECAFA teams like Sudan, tanzania, Malawi , Uganda etc.
Blackberry has nothing new to learn in Kenya. If a player wants his game to improve, he must stay in Europe. I remember seeing Mike Okoth in 1993 and marvelling at how much his game had improved.
And if a player wants to make good money, he must stay in Europe. Even Sofapaka players dont make more than $1000 per month.
Blackberry has taken the right approach. Stay at Randers but go out on loan to get playing time. Now he just needs to work on his weaknesses.
you can blackberry.jst b patient
