Mosoti, Mapunda, Leave for Simba
New Simba coach Zdravko Logarusic intent on re-uniting with some of his favourite players has signed Donald Mosoti and Ivo Mapunda.
According to futaa.com, The two Mapunda (Ivo) and Mosoti (Donald) have completed their move to Simba with a two year contract each, Mtawala said in an interview after the GoTV CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup third playoff match pitting Tanzania and Zambia.
Mapunda’s move was a no brainer because he is a top shelf goalkeeper who has been playing second fiddle at Gor Mahia for 2 years ever since he joined from Bandari where he had commanded a first team spot. And he has basically making no secret of the fact that he is interested in moving. It is fair to say that most people saw this coming.
Mosoti’s move however is a big blow as he has been rock solid in the Gor Mahia backline for the past two years after joining from Nairobi City Stars and was one of the reasons why Gor Mahia conceded the fewest goals in the just concluded league.
The moves also leave fans wondering why the club lets contracts of key players expire which leaves them open to free transfers. Had Gor Mahia signed contract extensions, they may have at least been able to receive a transfer fee from Simba.
Gor Mahia must now scramble to get a dependable central defender. At goalkeeper, the youthful Joel Bataro who has shown plenty of promise can step into Mapunda’s breach.
As they move to Simba Sports, my only worry is how secure their social relationships with their partners/spouses are. To us Gor Mahia fans we consider your departure and that of Odhis Dube a monumental loss…much bigger than losing a match to Ogwang’. Otherwise many thanks guys for the selfless and dedicated service to Gor Mahia. You have made indelible marks in our hearts and our memories. Baraka. May the almighty God erect a huge and ever-glowing ring of fire around your girlfriends/spouses.
Gor officials are you for the downfall of the club or what?, you are buying useless players and selling the cornerstone players, am smelling arat
I have been told Antony akumu and David owino calabar are also joining top club in east Africa next week – my gut feeling is either simba of Tanzania or el Merikh of Sudan !!!!
Where is the gor mahia EC ?
What is wrong with players changing teams? Gor is bigger than all of us and I know office is doing something.why panicking? There are also players who are interested in joining Gor Mahia.
Not 2 worry in GM AR & his bloated EC r the most important. In fact they cn easily raise a team together with their hooligans and represent K’galo.
I ask who or what committee is in charge of the polls or is it the EC.
Is it really fair 2 ignore ROUTINE MATTERS like players contracts, medical insurance & remember Ivo was even “given”time off from the GoTv final.
MY ADVICE TO GM FRATERNITY MORE SO MEMBERS UNLESS AND UNTIL WE PUT FOOTBALL FIRST GM WILL TAKE 3 STEPS BACKWARDS 4 EVERY 1 STEP FORWARD.
if someone wants to leave you cannot stop someone who knew we will get someone like calabar from kararturi so u leave a new talent comes in so let the coaches do there jobs so there ‘s no worries and some big names people are mentioning are in there sunset years mapunda has alot of xperience bt jagol has been our first choice so he can move to another club blackberry left we found serenkuma so no worries we should jst have cash to buy that’s it
The team is going to be weaker next year. Losing key players. Letting players like Odhis “Dube” leave and replacing with unknown players.
By the way, CAF requires each club to send their final list of players by Dec 30.
PANIC MODE!!!
can someone tell me..was mosotis contract over..
Big loss. The EC must sign like for like replacements
time imefika for to get good contracts ka za european league.izi vitu za two years tuwache.
time imefika for players to get good contracts ka za european league.izi vitu za two years tuwache.
Yep its time to panic because next year is Champions league and CECAFA cup. At this rate of loosing players, we shall finish 3rd in the league, loose in the preliminaries of CECAFA and loose in the preliminary round of ACL.
I have just realized Lugorusic has some unfinished business with Gor Mahia fc……wait and see.
What is happening with our EC?? Ogwang have made very good recrutements in Musa Mude, James Situma,Shikokoti of Tusker and they are planning to sign RAZAK of Burundi and Kasaya we beat at Nyayo stadium during GO TV Quarters while we are signing from Karuturi of div 2????
players come and go ,gor mahia will be there forever.when masika went we thought we could not get his replacement and there came Anguyo who was voted defender of the year,we also thought we were finished when blackberry went and there came sserenkuma am sure we will get good players for the replacement. Gor will always come strong in such situations.Am happy for the players if going out of the club will change their future life.soccer is a business it is just because of the stupidity of our officials and that is why players are going out to other clubs free of charge.
Good people, someone Is not doing his job at Gor Mahia.Someone is sleeping, literally,on,the job.I don’t buy the argument that Kogalo has already signed some players,a part from Onyango and Kariuki, but are keeping there names secret.Apart from the two I don’t think we have signed anyone.Leapards and the ale men have made public their signings and no club went after those players.EC should know the 12th man is on a panic mode.I suspect the EC doesn’t want to make any serious capture until after the elections. There is fear of uncertainty. There is a high possibility that a new office may go for a different set of players. Its been said on this blog many times. Why do we allow our players to go on the cheap?I know complacency sets in when you give players long term contracts.Knowing this, then the EC should be renewing these contracts after every one year.I fear the EC doesn’t even players whose contracts could be running out. While Its true they you cannot retain a player whose heart is elsewhere but,at least Kogalo should recover some money.Football is business.Am shocked that efusi, who will be playing in a second tier African competition is more active than Gor,who will be playing against the very best in Africa. We may not sign Kahata because Azam is already in the Mix for his signature and Ja Shirati’s.Tanzanian clubs are light years a head in buying and paying for players services. If we want good players we must be ready to pay for them. Now Akumu,Owino and Lavasta all may go.We are like a man with a beautiful wife whose needs he cannot satisfy and ,therefore all the rich guys in the neighborhood climb over the fence for a quick one-in the kitchen- while the hubby is “trimming” flowers in the courtyard.I rest my case.
Its very bad we are losing our dependable players,i mean how do we relax until contracts run out??and then you say “we would have wished to retain them”,and u call yourself SG,bure kabisa.
Am not surprised at all that these things are happening, everbody in the wobbly EC and TB seems to have gone to sleep! Do they even know who else will be going? Why did they release David Otieno after keeping the lad idle for a whole season, that chap with good coaching would be a replacement for Mosoti , all season we kept wondering what if something were to happen to Mosoti, now it has happened!!!Are you preparing us for a mediocre season next year? Something is telling me to prepare for the worst, that we may not see the Kogalo that we saw in 2013 for a long time to come? Guys watch this space.
Am not sure why we are panicking yet we are not sure who has been signed or bound to be signed. If a player leaves for good pastures we should then be happy for making someone’s life improved because of Gor. We cannot be proud to be associated with what happened to Awilo. Like someone mentioned BB went and we got Danny, Masika went and we got Mosoti etc. I still believe even in Kariuki and Onyango we will get our match. As it is so many good players would give anything to play for Gor. On Mosoti let’s not forget JBO’s comments on the player. Most of us castigated them. The other reason we are losing players is simply because we have the best individual players in the league. At least now we can realise that. The other reason is that in Kenya we cannot pay what Simba, Azam and Yanga pay. With our meagre resources no Kenyan club can afford to pay its players 150K plus a month which the three Tz teams do. on recruitment we have the players locally. For Mosoti we can go for Omino from Chemelil, For the mid we can even go for Kulecho from KK HomeBoys. We can also try and get Kenga from Bandari. It’s for strikers where we need to shop across the borders.
Personally i believe players leaving can be a blessing in disguise as it gives the remaining ones a chance to show their skills. A snake also shades it’s old skin and becomes younger and mmore agile again. Maybe that’s what is happening to Gor
The main undoing of the office is to let players’ contracts run out. These are players in our first 11. EC and TC are failing miserably.
The only thing to do is to sweep all these office out except Ambrose rachier the rest should go home so that anew office starts work immediately on monday.let us go and vote bloggers and do it wisely.i hear that Rachier has the cash for buying players but he can not dispatch it to the hungry wolves that knows very well that they are going home since they can dissapear with it.please let us vote to avoid this issue ya kupiga piga mdomo in this blog, let us not be too angry the time has reached and it is what we have been waiting for,let us sweep our house clean and elect the people that can lead this club.
Let all players who find better opportunities go. I for one believe Mosoti was going to warm the bench in 2014. We have been shopping for a central defender for a while now and he was the one to make way. We also need Owino in his natural position and get two full backs.
All teams in the league will loose players and there is no need to panic. All the great players we saw in CECAFA cannot sign for more than one or two years. That is the truth.
KPL teams are slowly improving but fans imagine the clubs are already up there with the best. Let us grow slowly until we get there.
@The Villager, I concur with you. We have blasted the office for the last one year but I would not be surprised that some of us on this blog are not even members and thus cannot bring the change they are vigorously advocating for. If we will not make the changes we need on Sunday then we will need to shut up and live with what we have. We have already ‘lost’ Mudde and Situna to Mashemeji, Wahome to Tusker, Walusimbi might go to Sofapaka and Omar to Ingwe. All these should not make us panic. There are still many good players playing for the low-ranked team who will surprise the rest when they join Gor. See what Noah Wafula from Timsales is doing at Ingwe. So we should not worry about landing top shots. After all we have beaten teams where Mude, Shiko, Alwanga etc are playing for. If we recruit wisely and not go for names and thereafter give the TB and EC the support that is needed we will still conquer the region and Africa. I still believe
Dan original, we r going continental & assuming that we can take some imature player & compete effectively with the likes of TP Mazembe, then we dont know what we r doing. If we will loose David & Akumu also then I can say that we start building again, what Sianga did 4 yrs ago. I’m smelling a rat in these players leaving while others r shown the door. can someone tell me if BW is around or he has also left. I’ve not heard about him since Efusi beat us in GoTv shield cup. Its like this team is dying .
I am tempted to urge guys to limit or stop campaigning on the blog just for three simple reasons:
1. Politics normally bring discord among a people and its not healthy for us who have a common relation not intended for separation.
2. It works well when we vote quietly since your candidate whether he is elected or not will remain GM leader for all of us.
3.As it is the sunday elections appear to be more of
winning than for GM leadership but that is not what a sober fan like you and me want.
On the transfers to me its a mixture of okay and how!
Its okay for a player like Mosoti to go for green pastures since to me he is at his peak but as the villager puts it i wonder where he was going to fit as GM has been shopping for a central defender, yet how have we been losing all our players for free while we buy at a high price?
Mapunda definitely can not be warming the bench as a number two, really for his experience and talent this defeats all logics, Mr. Ngala actually disclosed somewhere that BW suggested him for offloading if Jerry remains no. 1 choice.
I would also wonder why David Otieno is being released?
Those who are close to AR could you kindly persuade him to always do the right thing? How do you with hold signing players for whatever reason? How, is that in the best interest of the club? How come it becomes difficult to ‘spend your money’ now if its what he is been doing for the past six years.
Remember the ‘elections’ have produced different sets of other officials and retained the same chair but the situation has not changed…All the other officials have been very bad but the chair very good.
Guys let me remind u that KCB has lost Osumba Aluanga and even they r going to loose Keli but this does not mean that they will go down, the problem that we av is we want instant results which is not the best for this great club,as i always insist we need to go back to what we used to do before we need to employ good scouts people who can scout for good players, for some of u who might av been there before knows very well how we used to sign players we used to go down when we had secondary ball games n thats where we used to get players think of how we got players like Felix Otieno from H/B we can still do it if we r serious, now elections r around the Conner lets go n vote but n i insist but lets do it wisely,me my vote is for Rachier for chair,Wasuna for senior vice Mweshimiwa John Pesa for vice Chris Omondi aka Hooligan for sec general,Ken Wuod Awasi for treasure thats my line up
@ kassam what do you expect know it is campaign time and you cant tell people to keep quiet,it is time for gor mahia elections so let people campaign because it is the right time to do it.when odiwuor was campaigning here sometimes back it was not campaign time then again know you want people to keep quiet, let the people who are campaigning to do so it is the right time to do it,after all it is once in awhile so gor mahia fans willing to campaign do it.
Where is the coach…..the technical team?
@jarae that is what was done in kpl under 19 and the corrupt jolawi obondo guy was given the team as TM and immediately the guy sent the players away and was left with a few who could give them allitle percentage on their allowances. There are people who have vested interest in gor mahia and if we are not careful we will recycle them time and again.
