  • I support what @JAKOYO has been asking for; a central defensive cover. We have the League, Top 8, CAF Champions League, GoTV Cup, Cecafa Club Championships, DSTV Cup and maybe the Kenya Power Charity Cup. These games are many and need good cover in all areas if we are to make an impact. Injuries and cards will be accumulated.

We also need to call on FKF to try and bring the CECAFA Club Championships to Kenya so we can have some advantage as we return to the regional scene.

Otherwise, i feel we have good squad with good depth and i’m looking forward to an exciting season.

Lastly, i want to call upon ODUOR12 to drop the cynical, sarcastic and contemptuous name for purposes of tranquility and forgiveness on this blog.

  • its not so much how many players gor has in it’s ranks. kindly take note that the kenyan league will start while the european players are on the pitch and will end with the european players still being on the pitch. and shud kenya play spain , kenya will still be beaten 6 nil. one thing kenyan sport does not focus on is diet. players after getting their allowances head straight to ‘Burma’ for ugali, nyamachoma, matumbo etc. na ujaze so the the saying goes. another area is controlled physical fitness. the european player despite looking bigger is extremely fit and will run rings round the kenyan counterpart. the only team which have realised this is the rugby team. at least they got it that it is not just a matter of ugali. so gor can go ahead and have 30 players but so long as sports managers have no idea of what it takes, then kenyan soccer will remain where it is.

@dinga, you are 100% right of the dieting and lifestyle of players. These two areas need to be addressed by both the technical and medical team. These are areas if handled properly will unleash the hidden potentials from the playing unit.
