Gor Mahia take on AFC
Gor Mahia will return to Nyayo stadium after a hiatus to take on arch rivals AFC Leopards in 2014’s first edition of the Mashemeji derby. Kickoff iS set for Sunday at 3pm.
Gor Mahia fresh off their aggregate loss to Tusker will be hoping to pick up where they left off having won several games in succession to plant themselves at the top of the league. AFC fresh from their outing in the regional Nile Basin cup which they reached the final before loosing to Victoria of Uganda will be hoping to continue their recovery under new Dutch coach De Jong.
Rama Salim has been in sensational scoring form of late and will be counted on upfront along with his partner Dan Sserunkuma who always saves his best performances for the derby. Supplying them with passes will be Eric Ochieng who has also found a rich vein of form , overlapping defender Dan Walusimbi who leads the team in assists, and fellow Ugandan Geoffrey Kiztito.
Geoffrey Kizito eager for derby
“I have heard about the derby and here I am now expecting to play. I can’t wait for the match against AFC leopards,” said Kizito who has also played in Austria.
“Derbies are very exciting because they arouse passion. Each team plays to win regardless of their form. AFC Leopards is a big team, I have watched them play and I think it is going to be a big clash,” he said to the Nation.
Fan Support
The players have so far done an excellent job of putting aside the instability that has plagued the club for several months now. Fans should come in draws and offer unconditional support to the team regardless of what the referee is doing or what the score is. A win for Kogalo will see them strengthen their lead at the top of the table.
Tickets
Gor Mahia will host the match. 18,000 tickets have been printed for Sunday’s Mashemeji derby involving powerhouses Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
Ticket sales begin on match day across the city from Wells Fargo outlets. They include in Kenya Cinema, City Stadium, Riadha House and the Nairobi West Stage according to michzeoafrika.
We will be there in person to do what we do best. Those who cannot stomach the unpredictable nature of footy and moreso derby can watch the live broadcast but remeber to send their paybill contribution.

Update on 350100 !
@odhiambo even yourself is bored with this caf guy.i always hate his comments,so he want us to force fans to the stadium .bloggers let us go and cheer the boys.
Kudos CAF guy.
Keep pointing out the facts & inconsistencies.
How does an EC that rolls out a 1M membership drive print only 18,000 tickets for its top home game of the season just 3,000 tickets above Nyayo’s 30k capacity.
Yes the truth is VERY bitter to those who prefer to hear sweet nothings from an EC that is opaque & unaccountable.
The other fact that u boldly stated is that fans/members appear powerless against the EC/how the club is run.
Kudos players you’ve amazed me by your performance.
I repeat isn’t it more realistic to target 18,000 members. A cooperative is the only viable option especially for accountability & transparency.
1)A monthly contribution of 500/member will raise kshs.9M monthly which translates to kshs.108 per annum.
2)Charge a discounted kshs.150 per home game to these members & raise 18,000x150x15 games =kshs.40.5 in gate collections.
3)Thats a target of Kshs.108 +40.5= kshs148.50 from 18k fans.
Even if GM finally realizes a 50% success rate it will have raise kshs.74M ( and that means only 9,000 members have been recruited).
Of course the KRA debacle must be resolved first.
Like I said collectively the GM fanbase is skeptical and not that foolish as to enrich a small group of people (EC).
A more attractive brand of soccer will also do wonders in attracting fans to K’galo games.
With that I wish GM victory against chingwe.
Correction I mean 18,000 is a mere 3,000 above half the 30,000 seater Nyayo Stadium.
