Jolawi denies incitment

Former Gor Mahia team manager Jolawi Obondo has refuted claims he was involved in incitement of players at his former club.

Last month SuperSport.com carried a story in which the long serving manager was accused of inciting players as well as making monetary gains from their transfer fees.

But Obondo says the allegations were unfounded.

“The accusations levelled against me were malicious, false and reckless and my reputation was greatly injured and brought into public scandal, odium and contempt,” a letter from Obondo read in part.

“I served Gor with dedication and distinction and I have neither contemplated nor acted in acts of sabotaging the club as reports have portrayed me. I feel wronged by such sentiments and I would like it to be known that I have no malice against Gor and wish them only the best,” he added.

Obondo who had left his post last season rejoined the club in December last season. He however left the club in March this year after the entire technical bench was sacked following a poor start to the season.

Gor has had a turbulent start to the season crashing out of the Confederation Cup as well as struggling in the local scene.

Coach Anaba Awono was sent packing with Zdravko Logarusic taking over as coach and last week, eight players were shown the door.

Collins Okoth, Peter Juma, Demonde Selenga, Dan Mkaori, Hugo Nzangu, Tony Nyangor, Collins Omondi and Felixnho Nwosu.

  • WE WISH YOU WELL TOO

As loyals fans of this great club, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you well in your new assignment.

Without being seen to be biased, we valued your contribution as team manager. The kind of allegations against you have not been substantiated and therefore we cannot rely on speculation or hearsay. The matter should have investigated anda report prepared. The officials are letting the public to condemn their brothers unheard. It should be noted that it the careers of others that is at stake. We therefore require a sober assesment and interrrogation of the matter before it is blown out of proportion.

Finally we want to warn the current officials who may be carrying out such immoral acts to desist forthwith or else the long arm of the law will one day catch him. The rules are very clear on how players are recruited. Let us stick to the rules of the game at all times.

Jolawi did good work with club for the last three seasons until the last minute when hiring of technical bench came in,but i believe he can deliver if given conducive environment.

We cannot validate whether or not Jolawi incited players, rather let’s say he’s innocent until we have solid evidence against him to prove him guilty. If players fail to deliver, there is no point of passing blame. What we want is good results and if possible win all our second leg matches.
