Nuttall calm and braced for derby

Coach Frank Nuttall is keeping his players in the right frame of mind for the upcoming mashemeji derby by reminding them that it is just another league match.

“I know this is usually the biggest game and every player in the two sides has been psyching for it. But then again, it is just any other league game with three points at stake,” However, just as we have done throughout the season, we go into every game for the three points and against AFC Leopards, we will once again be out to get the three points,” said Nuttall to supersport.com

Yet this is not just any other game. Leopards may be out of contention for the league title but they would like nothing better than to win the derby and end Gor Mahia’s unbeaten run. To that effect, Ingwe players have been working hard this week.

But Nuttall will also prepare and motivate his side. Not only do they need to keep their momentum towards the title going, but they need to win a derby they have not won in a long time. Gor Mahia did not beat AFC during the Bobby Williamson era and the first leg this season ended in a tie.

To that effect, coach Nuttall rested several key players

@ ombeng ombeng IT IS A DERBY AND NOT JUST A KPL MATCH. DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF AFC CARRY THE DAY. They are famously called derbies since the result are very repugnant to anything like VULNERABILITY.

@ omondii Well said for GOR MAHIA winning then i would not be surprised if the Olunga,Kagere,Wafula and Walusimbi juggernaut mercilessly sinking in beyond 5 goals although on flip side LOGA’s intelligence and ability to read the opponents tactical approach might lock up the game and this is where the limping LEOPARD might expose K’Ogalo.

With well known K’Ogalo high-line defensive style of play especially with the wing backs and frequent lapses on the offside trap movement then the LEOPARD will just sit back and simply apply the “AZAM” or rather JOHN BOCCO/”KIPRE TCHE TCHE offensive combination with sporadic counter attack using Khalid Jumaan,Benard Mang’oli,Patrick Kagogo.Michael khamati and Lamine Diallo to just only sneak a goal or two and then “pack the bus” with the likes of Pablo, Anguyo,Nasio and play maker Duncan Otieno and it will be game shot. • AFC can only and only beat GOR MAHIA, if they fixed the Match, they always bought Referees or Goal-keeps of GM period, even our last why Ngama was yellow-carded? Shakav was to clear the Ball and Ngama pinned down like wrestiling Match.

@Achacha, hope you have been watching derbys before? Remember when we dominated ingwe like 90 to 10% only for Dimonde Selenge to notch in a painful goal? Open up your mind and pray that we win. Those issues of match-fixing you can go and report to the EACC otherwise don’t try what you can’t prove. Cautioning players with cards has nothing to do with match fixing.

@ Dan Original thanks a million time for not only reminding @Henry Achacha about that fateful mid-week clash under-floodlights at NYAYO that not only did GOR MAHIA dominate and failed to score against AFC-WEBO in between the post but also turned out to be very FATAL thus claiming 8 lives of young GREEN ARMY due stampede that occurred at GATE 2 immediately after kick-off @ around 7.00pm.

@Dan Original do you re-call how our current goal-keeping coach one MATHEW OTTAMMAX OWINO got a dog-beating from K’Ogalo youths for invading the pitch during play to try and bring attention of the center-referee officiating the match to STOP the game with regard to STAMPEDE at GATE 2.. THAT WAS DERBY OF DEATH. GOR dominated but INGWE won the match.

@ Henry Achacha my blog is simply some kind of punditry that is meant to typically encourage friendly “MAHEMEJI” rivalries as we tend to improve on game attendance as adjudicated by @ Ja thur gi ji new slogan “WE” are K’Ogalo by DEEDS and not match fixer unless my post has made YOU chill under the pressure of true realities of “DERBIES”.

@ Henry Achacha you actually confirmed that truly “DERBIES” has a lot pressure and the competition is felt by players, coaches, and management, but is perhaps felt strongest by the fans. WE ARE ALL PRAYING HUMBLY FOR K’OGALO TO WIN BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE SHOULD ACCEPT THE REALITY THAT DERBY HAS NO FORM-BOOK ADVANTAGE.

Watu wajitokeze. Attendance of late has been below par. Just watching that footage from 2011 makes you wonder where all the fans went. Nowadays a mashemeji derby draws less than 10,000. THis is unfortunate

  • K’Ogalo, pls use AFC to wipe the floor of Nyayo stadium. Dedicate the win to all those Ingwe fans who have badmouthed you.

Ogango Trailer after reading your analysis and that, coupled with the Nakuru All Stars draw has left me and many other fans (I suppose) very ill. This reminds me of what fans of both teams have to go through at least twice in each calender year. Efusi and Gor Mahia fans truly require some Health Insurance cover and a Health Risk Allowance paid by whoever organizes for these two teams to play against each other. How many fans of both teams have had irreversible and potentially fatal health disorders because of the stresses that come with these derbies?

The Trailer I am serious. Supersport and Spot Pesa should be made to compensate us. The fairest way would be to channel the allowances and allocations for our Health Insurance covers to the two teams. In other words Supersport and Spot Pesa should actually be paying these two teams much more than they remit to the other teams. That, to me would be very fair.

As for the derby, my mouth is stuck. I think it should be a win-win situation for both teams: Gor Mahia should allow Logarusic to maintain his record of not losing in a derby while Efusi should allow us to maintain our unbeaten record and everybody goes home satisfied although not happy. I am just tired of derbies!

Peace must b paramount in this derby, For the Mighty must not fail to get a sponsor coz we are deemed violent and no one wants their brand to be associated with violence and hooliganism. We cannot just afford another season of struggle with players salaries yet the players themselves are doing a fantastic job kiwanjani. And to the fans who dearly love our club, lets attend matches and pay what we are charged without mambo mob coz that’s what we can do as supporters of the club coz we know the playing unit depends on that solely. Finally I pray God to grant us victory.
