Amos Nondi on target as Kenya U20 holds Sudan away

The Kenya U20 national team held their Sudanese counterparts to a 1-1 draw in a match played at the El Merreikh stadium on Sunday. The match was part of the qualifiers for the 2017 Africa U-20 tournament.
Amos Nondi who is one of the players promoted from the Gor Mahia U19 team to the senior team, and who has shown a lot of promise, scored Kenya’s equalizing goal.
Hassan Motwakil had given the hosts the lead in the first half.
The other Gor Mahia player in the starting line-up was Eric “Marcelo” Ouma, formerly of Kakamega high. The return leg will be later this month. The winner will to the second round to play against Malawi in June. There will be a third and final round in July.
Kenya has never qualified for this tournament. Indeed kenya has rarely sent a team to the qualifiers. And when they do, the team is often ill-prepared.
Starting XI: Timothy Odhiambo (GK), Dennis Gicheru Joseph Okumu, Collins Okumu, Erick Ouma, Michael Mutinda, Amos Nondi, John Macharia, Michael Ochieng’, Musa Masika, Nicholas Kipkurui.
Subs: Edwin Mukolwe (GK), Kevin Owino, Vincent Wasambo, David Owino, Boniface Muchiri, Kibet Kilele, Jeffery Owiti, Eugene Mukhangula
Age cheating complaints
After the match, Sudan Football Federation officials questioned the ages of some of the Kenyan players accusing Football Kenya Federation of fielding five over age players. And according to SFA treasurer Oussama Ataelmaan, their federation will lodge a formal complaint to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). “As per CAF rules, only players born on or after January 1, 1997 are eligible to play in the tournament. But in the Kenyan team there were five players who were born before that date,” said Ataelmaan. However, when contacted, FKF president Nick Mwendwa dismissed the age cheating allegations insisting that all their players were cleared by the match officials.
“Sudan can go ahead and lodge the appeal if they want. Both teams attended a pre-match meeting where all our players were cleared by the referee and match commissioner. They looked at their passports and once they were cleared, it meant they are authentic,” Mwendwa told the Standard.
Are they launching the complaints because they drew or what. What about if they Sudan had worn?
On the subject, one only gets a passport with the ID. The question is did these players know that they would one day be footballers and be selected to play for the Nation? I think in Kenya getting the ID is provided for by the law? I therefore do not understand, some body help please?
THESE are usiless cpmplaints and should be dealt with by usiless president of football we do not need discuss such.
I understand we have a game tomorrow, is it true?
Are we all forgetting how our U17 was banned sometimes back. And by the way is Mariga, Oliech and Wanyama still U30. Unfortunately cheating is an age-old issue in Africa
