Coach lauds Jerim

Gor Mahia keeper and skipper Jerim Onyango is undoubtedly one of the keepers on the best form in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) going by his performance in the team’s recent matches and his trainer at the club Iddi Salim believes he is the man to watch as the TPL progresses.
The keeper almost single handedly won a point against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday 28 April with a string of fine saves then repeated the heroics away to Muhoroni Youth a week later as Gor Mahia won 2 – 0, performances that have left his trainer purring.
Unrivalled
As the team shifts attention to the derby game against AFC Leopards on Sunday 12 May, Iddi says Jerim is unrivaled when it comes to top custodians in the country at the moment and bills him to stand between the sticks when Kenya takes on Nigeria.
All this, Iddi credits to the club’s training regime and lauded second keeper Ivo Mapunda as well.
Training regime
-Jerim is doing very well at the moment; it is just that our last two matches were not live but whoever watched those matches can attest to it. I am so convinced he is the best in the league at the moment. He has improved a lot and it is due to his dedication to the cause and our training regime as well.
-Here we insist on strict professionalism when it comes to handling our keepers and that is why Mapunda shows it too when given a chance.
Right time
-In my view Jerim has hit form at the right time because with the levels he’s at right now, I can’t imagine him missing a chance to represent Kenya when we take on Nigeria. I think he has done enough to convince all and barring any injury, I am sure he’ll get the recognition, Iddi told futaa.com.
Jerim was named the runners up best keeper in the 2012 season during last year’s KPL awards
i agree that jerim is good. but what works out most for him is how he carries himself out. he is one player who could turn and succeed as a professinal easily. he is good but does not behave or try to carry himself out as a star. a good captain and player. but i would rather plead with logar to keep mwapunda occupied too. give mwapunda some playing time so that he does not seek other clubs. mwapunda is a good keeper too and i would not like to see him go. otherwise congrats to gor for the ‘new’ position… it’s a abit early but my request is that once you go top then make sure the nxt club is 10 points behind.
Jery is to me the best keeper he has really help us,mumias he was xcelent and in nakuru he literally gave us the 3 points,am saying literally coz mufron could av scored 4 clear goals if not for his quick action, but we need to give the other 2 keepers achance to atleast prove themselves that they also can.
what do you say of the backline . . .are they exposing a good keeper. Should they pull up their socks? something is not adding up
There is still some miscommunication in defence we av not played like last year in defence but now i can see its coming up i can see the partnership of musa and calabar is going to work
Well done jagoal, you never fail to proof your critics wrong, just take it one match at a time.
TUKISATUMBUKISA TUSKER NDANI MWA POMBE, TUTAWEKA SEMEJI NDANI MWA KIBUYU DONGE???
AIM FOR THE STARS BOY!
Please allow me to join comrades to pay glowing tribute to our number goalkeeper, Jerim Onyango for his outstanding performance between the goal posts and as captain. In the last two games, Jerim rose to the ocassion.
No doubt the goalkeeper is continuing to cement his position not at the club level as Gor Mahia One but also at the national team.
On the forthcoming derby, i hope coach Logarusic will bestow him the honor with the number one jersey in the starting eleven. Jerim’s fans at the club level are urging to up his game because the future looks bright for the media shy goalie
Finally, i still intend to present a personal memorandum to the GM’s Executive Committee to entrench a testimonial match in our constitution in order to give our retiring players a decent send off. However, i do not want to the jump the gun. I will deliver it at an appropriate time. As i send off, both excitement and anxiety is already building ahead of our first derby this season. Who will blink first?
Congratulation are in order for no 1 goalie and capt.let this not distract him but give him confidence and springs to take off.i believe he will go places.well done jerim.
Jerry is good but needs to learn about penalties and to work under pressure.
jerry is the best goalie,we have now
