On the condition that Gor Mahia, who are banned from using the facility, deposit Sh1 million bond as surety to SSMB for damages EXCLUSIVE
By Otieno Otieno

Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Gor Mahia will host rivals AFC Leopards’ at Moi Kasarani in the eagerly awaited ‘Mashemeji derby’ on August 25.

But K’Ogalo, who are serving an indefinite ban of using both Nyayo and Kasarani following crowd trouble during their league match against Nairobi City Stars, will have to pay a refundable bond of Sh1million to be allowed to hosts their rivals. The Sh1 million is exclusive of the Sh2.8million slapped on Gor Mahia by the SSMB.

A joint Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Kenyan Premier League (KPL) committee which met on Friday to deliberate on the club’s recent ban said the bond will be deposited to SSMB.

The meeting tasked FKF to prevail upon the SSMB to lift the suspension on Gor Mahia paving way for the August 25 derby against arch-rivals AFC Leopards to be staged at Kasarani.

“The Sh1million to be deposited with SSMB will be used to cover any damages that may be caused by fans of Gor Mahia,” FKF President Sam Nyamweya exclusively told Goal.

Nyamweya said the bond is exclusive of the Sh2.8million slapped on Gor Mahia by the SSMB and insisted the club has to pay the fine.

He added: “If Gor Mahia decline to pay the bond then they will be forced to play the derby behind closed doors.”

Nyamweya also announced that Gor Mahia have been ordered to make available a security plan they intend to have in place ahead of the derby.

He also revealed that all Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards’ matches will from henceforth be played at either Kasarani or Nyayo Stadium. “Gor will not be allowed to play their fixtures at City Stadium from now henceforth. Their last match at the venue is the one against Muhoroni Youth on Saturday.”

    I said this on 15 August 2013.

“JUST LIKE RAMA SIMPLY WALKED OUT, NOTE THAT NYAMWEYA AND FKF HAVE NO EFFECT ON SSMB. WAKE UP BWANA & EC”

    …….Contd from my previous blog:

The main source of revenue for a club are:
    1. Sponsorship & TV rights
    2. Membership
    3. Merchandize
There’s no other way for serious officials and its about football first.

Quotes from a Legend of Bayern
**”I don’t accept any longer that we should be guided by people who are not serious and clean. Now is the moment to intervene. Because knowing something is wrong is an obligation to change.”
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the chairman of the European Club Association.

***”We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk,” said Bayern president Uli Hoeness. “Football has got to be for everybody.”

Organization and finance of German’s “Gor Mahia|”

Bayern is led mostly by former club players. The club President is Uli Hoeneß. He has been in office, formerly as general manager of the club, since 1979.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is the chairman of the executive board of the AG.[88]

The supervisory board of nine consists mostly of managers of big German corporations. They are Herbert Hainer(CEO adidas),Uli Hoeneß,Timotheus Höttges, Helmut Markwort,Dieter Rampl,Fritz Scherer,Rupert Stadler,Edmund Stoiber, and Martin Winterkorn.[89][90]

Professional football at Bayern is run by the spin-off organization FC Bayern München AG.AG is short for Aktiengesellschaft, and Bayern is run like a joint stock company,a company whose stock are not listed on the public stock exchange, but is privately owned. 81.8% of FC Bayern München AG is owned by the club, the FC Bayern München e. V. (e. V. is short for Eingetragener Verein, which translates into “Registered Club”) and 9.1% by sports goods manufacturer Adidas and 9.1% by automobile company Audi.[91] Adidas acquired its shares in 2002 for €77m.The money was designated to help finance the Allianz Arena.[92]In 2009 Audi paid €90m for their share. The capital will be used to repay the loan for the Allianz Arena quicker than originally planned.[93] Bayern’s other sports departments are run by the club.

Bayern’s main advertising partner and current holder of the jersey rights is Deutsche Telekom.[94] The main supplier of the club is Adidas.[94] The premium partners include Paulaner Brewery, Audi, Coca-Cola, Lufthansa, Samsung and Yingli Solar. Classic sponsors include Siemens, Burger King, Ebel, Fitness First, The LEGO Group, Schaeffler Group, s.Oliver, Continental, Viagogo, Trentino, Thomas Sabo and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts.[94] Food sponsors include Albi, BiFi, Ehrmann and MF.[94] In previous years the jersey rights were held by Adidas[95] (1974–78), Magirus Deutz and Iveco[96] (trucks / 1978–84), Commodore[97] (computers / 1984–89) and Opel[98] (cars / 1989–2002).

Bayern is an exception in professional, international football, having generated profits in nine of the last ten seasons. Other clubs often report losses, realizing transfers via loans, whereas Bayern always uses current assets.

Also Bayern differs from other European top clubs in their income composition. While other clubs derive more than 35% of their revenues from broadcasting right,Bayern earn only 22% of their revenues that way.[99] This is often accounted for by Bayern not marketing their broadcasting right themselves.[citation needed] Instead the Deutsche Fußball Liga negotiates broadcasting rights for the whole Bundesliga.

In 2011–12 Bayern reported revenues of €373.4 million, marking the eighth consecutive time that Bayern has topped their previous record earnings.[9] According to the latest Deloitte’s annual Football Money League, Bayern was the fourth richest club in the world in 2012, generating revenues of €368.4 million.[100]
While other European clubs have mainly marketed to international audiences, Bayern has focused on Germany.[101] Forbes ranks Bayern as the world’s fifth most valuable football club in their annual list, estimating the club’s at value $1.235 billion.[102] As a result of Bayern’s finals appearance in the 2012 UEFA Champions League, the club’s brand value has reached $786 million USD which is up 59 percent from the previous year. Among European teams this is ahead of Real Madrid’s $600 million USD and behind first place Manchester United whose brand is valued at $853 million USD. In 2013, Bayern overtook Manchester United to take first place in brand valuation.[103]

Instead of Nyamweya helping Bwana & EC, he has connived with SSMB to further punish entire Gor family.
Kweli innocent GM fans is a cow to be milked by everybody and evertime.

Nyamweya is not fit for that office in the first place, those who voted for him are the worst enemies of the Kenyan football.

@4 Dan,could u pliz tell us how u think the so called legends will improve Gor. bcos these pple have not shown any interest in becoming directors of Gor Mahia FC & I know they dont have the financial backup to run k’ogalo.they also cannot tolerate Gor fans who r too demanding from EC. they will be abused & will resign in the next 2hrs

  • NOW NOW NOW, with the best scheme in TOWN to fleeze Gor, Now we are banned from playing at City.

Simple reason, some lazy goons can get Kshs 2.8 per match from Gor in case of crowd trouble.

The gate collection will be going to Nyamweya and SSMB who will just have to come up with one reason or two why the money is not refundable.

EC do not accept to be cowed…..this is unacceptable.

HOW CAN SOMEONE PRESUME THAT THEIR WILL BE RIOT AND NOT PREVENT IT HOPING TO CASH ON THE SAME. SHIT!

SSMB & Nyamweya want to have full monopoly of the venues. What have we done at City Stadium to cause us from playing there? That is mischief of the highest order. In fact if I were in GM’s EC, I will not pay a cent of the 1 million bond deposit to see what next for FKF and SSMB. Secondly, I agree hooliganism is extremely bad but everytime something happens, SSMB over-charges and then if you go to Kasarani these same seats still remain broken or missing despite the clubs having paid the fine. You may find that the total number of seats broken were less than 200 but the quotation by SSMB was over 500 seats; I hope someone is getting what I’m saying.

If you can ask FKF and SSMB why GM will not be allowed to play at City Stadium, do they have a reason? I thought it’s the club to choose where their home matches are being played? Anyway let us wait and say what our EC will say.

    @ 1 ODUOR12 – I echo your sentiments.

@ 4 dan – as much as our house is not clean we cant allow someone to take advantage of us.

@ 5 Ingo – I normally differ with you in so many postings but this particular one I support you a 101% . If SSMB & FKF has issue with GM, why should they drag AFC Leopards into it? That is simply what I call being unprofessional. Instead of tackling the real issue, we are now thinking how to steal from GM & AFC.

@ 7 Omondi – you are spot on; I agree.

  • This is a side show.I thought a representative of SSMB should have been present.KPL and FKF do not own any stadium. They cannot therefore order the game at Kasarani without the consent of SSMB which has banned Gor fro m using their facilities.

Dan na legends???. Is Dan being crucified for some other peoples’ sins. In his post Dan has not even mentioned executive community but has been mercilessly lashed. However like JC he has so far bore the burden without complaint. MOS AHINYA DAN, POLE KABISA.
HASIRA ZA M.O.O NAYO, YAWA NI KUBWA KAMA KUVUNJA SEATS KASARANI NA KUTOA BWANA MBIO. LOL!

P.S. 4got to mention Gate collections as a major source of income for clubs. Finally its a big folly for anyone to still believe or claim that GM is being run by the personal finances of anybody. The most the happens is that sometimes its heard that ONLY the chair has advanced the club monies which are recovered later from gate collections/sponsorship comes through. Kwani how many times must this point be repeated.

TB/Players-Asanti for the 3-0 win. Should AFC lose 2morrow than we should consider not honoring the derby if it won’t be switched to Tokowanda. At Tokowanda charges should be 1500 VIP & 800 Terraces. If we play @ Kasa, then know GM has paid the fines and is the 3rd party in this game.

Avoid unknowns K’galo is safer with qualified legends and proper structures.

  • cant the game between AFC LEOPARDS AND KOGALO be played in another country then, if Nyamweya has issues with the people who own stadiums here.
Security issues must be handled by the owners of the stadium and the Kenya Police who handle security in Kenya as Gor Mahia is not in the business of providing security.Look at it this way if one destroys public /private property he is supposed to be arrested and taken to court by the POLICE not Gor Mahia and therefore i think Gor Mahia should move to court to urgue it out,Gor Mahia does not tell anyone to support it or be its fan and therefore will never have any real control of the fans and it’s the police to deal with it.
Let me ask you if the so called Gor fans start killing/murdering people will Gor Mahia investigate ?if the answer is no who will….?
