FKF awards abandoned match to Gor Mahia

courtesy of futaa.com

Football Kenya Federation has ruled that the abandoned match between SoNy Sugar FC and Gor Mahia be awarded to Gor Mahia.

In a letter to the Press, FKF asserts that Sony Sugar FC is squarely liable for the abandonment based on the fact that its player and official attacked the 1st assistant referee.

Below is an excerpt from the ruling…

Football Kenya Federation is in receipt of the match commissioner’s report, the referees report and a copy of a letter from the CEO KPL dated 3rd September 2013 and addressed to the secretary of Sony Sugar FC and Gor Mahia FC respectively.

The federation has studied and analyzed the facts pertaining to this match and has established that:

1. The match was stopped in the 84th after Gor Mahia FC scored their second goal.

2. The 1st Assistant Referee was assaulted by a player and an official of Sony Sugar FC.

3. There was intervention by the police to control the crowds.

4. The match was stopped for 28 minutes.

In view of the stated facts the Federation hereby invokes rule 3.4(b), 3.5(c) and 3.8, Rules of Kenyan Football (1998) and finds Sony Sugar FC culpable of causing the abandonment of the match no.171 and subsequent abandonment of the match.

Our own investigations further reveal that the center referee was assaulted and the same has not been documented in his report or that of the match commissioner.

GMT admonished

The collapse of the perimeter fence in the view of the Federation is an after effect of the stoppage and subsequent abandonment of the match.

The Federation also reprimands Mr.  GMT Ottieno for interfering and skewing the decision of the match officials in calling off the match.

…The Federation is closely monitoring and safe guarding the integrity of the Premier League by ensuring fairplay prevails for the good of the game.

Is this decision binding or could SoNy appeal?
Secondly does FKF have jurisdiction over KPL ?

    Hayo ndio maswali muhimu.

@Riaga I don’t know if Sony can appeal but what i do know is that any further appeal can only be to another committee of FKF.
As regards your second question FKF is the supreme soccer body in Kenya, duly recognized by FIFA. KPL justs runs the premier league on behalf of FKF and is surbordinate to it. FKF oversees all actions of KPL hence GM’s appeal to FKF.
Am happy the truth has prevailed. I echo the sentiments of fellow bloggers that ” justice is truly a double edged sword”.

And by the way, so that such mediocrity and corruption doesnt happen again, this referee needs to be charged for lying, and perhaps those also who bribed him

@ joe riaga; Yes SoNy can desperately appeal to FIFA if they so wish and feel that the decision is biased against them, but FIFA will apply the same rule that OGUDA and his KPL cronies ignored.

@Barefoot Bandit i also join in you my comrade in thanking “King David” and FKF “PRESIDENT” for observing sanity and applying “SOLOMONIC WISDOM” in making his final ruling.

Let me also not forget very informed and soccer-maniac people like “le camarade @ le pastre” , “@Erico Jarae”, “@ kosero”, “@ Roos” amongst many others who stood with the truth and argued against impunity and ineptness of KPL. Lastly i can not forget the very HYPOCRITES of gormahia.net and the busybodies of EFUSI on this blog for making the GOR / SoNy debate lively.

The only lesson Gor fans should learn is that someone / team will walk out of the field of play and expose us to such decisions should we overreact

    Hooligans please be Holy.

    all the best

The ref must have been compromised. His report indicate that he was not assaulted because he ran away. Why run away if there was no trouble. Oguda must know FKF is the supreme body in matters of soccer in this country as FIFA does not recognize KPL. The two must be investigated

I hope this is also a lesson to us fans. Next time we ‘misbehave’ we will get the same medicine. Unfortunately for us the likelihood to cause chaos is far much higher than any other fans, apart from Ingwe fans. As much as the three points have created a good buffer zone between us and the chasing pack we need to prove beyond resonable doubt that the points from the decision was just a bonus by extending that gap even further.
To our fans as we play Tusker at Tok K’Omwanda on Sunday let’s promote and keep peace especially with our neighbours at Muthurwa especially at this time where political/ethnic statements bordering on the happenings at the Hague can cause chatic retaliatory reactions. I expect G. Bwana and Faiz to take a pro-active approach to this issue and not coming inafter the occurence to blaa blaa on the media.
Otherwise now I can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after 17 years.

    Allow me to ask.
Is Adel Amouroche an undercover football agent in addition 2 being national team coach?
Admin. has already expressed concern abt this article on “King” David. On the last supersport interview he out of the blue made players contracts an issue.
Remember him claiming that he tried 2 get Kiongera 2 join a Bundesliga club.
No doubt players deserve greener pastures but Adel should not disrupt plans 4 local clubs & should clear the air on this issue. Is his link Iddi the GK trainer?

seems like the league umesaenda. and fkf pls investigate these guys kasaya, zedi, oguda, match commissioner et that ref.
    nowonder sony officials rushed to make all sorts of statements after the match. the ball went over kasaya, he never saw where the ball landed and the moment the goal was given he was on the ref like an wayward iraqi missile to israel. gor shud take care cause as usual, all games will be tough coz of one major reason;
having seen tusker et ulinzi behaviour in this league, u realise that they too are just like the rest… these guys only dedicate themselves when playing gor. the big question is why? why are teams so ready to use all tactics just to win a draw with gor then rush to the press to claim how gor was lucky to survive. tusker et ulinzi have failed to catch gor and are loosing to any other team.

and if adel amrouche can get david owino to play in the bundesligar then so be it. we all saw how julius owino lives currently… let these players go out and make money, the only thing is that they shud respect country call ups. the moment gor takes the league i believe some players will leave coz of the simple reason of success. if gor succeeds continental then more will go and this is more reason why i pray that the youth program that recruited youngsters in uganda succeeds.
finally all others will yap how gor has been given free points but sony would have still been beaten in the replay. so afc and the two major wanabbes ulinzi et tusker, only one choice now, fight for number two.
so @oduor12… as much as i support greener pastures plan by adel, i only appeal to gor players not to do the opiyo style where u go bila notisi. players plz appriciate where kogalo has taken you and someone like d.owino sud not leave bila 5m kwa account. so ec how this happens is entirely up to you. let us not have the rama saga again. once a player decides to go, ataenda … just manage it properly. but the plan by these foreign clubs is simple, kenya players hardly have long contracts, so all u do is show the player money ‘he only sees in movies’ then go ahead and offer the club 200,000/- . the end result is that the nxt time u see the player is at the airport!

Most likely Owino will move next season. It is no doubt the match officials were bribed by Sony officials.

@dinga aren’t we saying the same thing?
If Adel is an agent then he should be open about it & engage both club & player.
Also we cry so loudly about “Awilo” but there were other players in the same boat yet they struggle & make do quietly
Awilo sorry to say likes pubilicity be it the press/aspiring candidates but its his modus operandi.
