Gattuso in action for Kenya against Sudan
Collins Okoth “Gattuso” and team-mates in Dar
In a match played at the magnificent national stadium in Dar es Salaam, Kenya went down 0-1 to Sudan. Stars needed only a point. But it was Sudan who looked like the better side throughout the match. They took the lead in the 25th minute via a header.
Just as in the Malawi game, Harambee stars spent much of the second half passing the ball around but were unable to provide the telling incisive pass that would lead to a goal and as such created no chances.
Gor Mahia’s Collins Okoth started the game and was later substituted by Stephen Ocholla. Eric Masika remained rooted to the bench throughout this tournament. This was a good experience for Collins Okoth which he can use for next years continental assignments.
Kenya are now officially out in the preliminaries. There will be plenty of soul searching with many fans wondering if Kimanzi is the right man for the job. Others wonder if the players are the problem. Maybe there is a dearth of good players in Kenya at the moment. When Kenya won the CECAFA cup multiple times in the early 80s, players like Abbas, Bobby Ogolla, Murila, Mulamba and Ayoyi were head and shoulders above other players in the region. Kenya was truly feared. The same cant be said of today’s players.
I AM HAPPY FOR KIMANZI TO FAIL AND I WISH HE SHOULD KEEPING ON FAILING FURTHER. BY THAT I WILL BE PATRIOTIC TO THE GOOD TALENTS THAT HE HAS IGNORED AT THE EXPENSE OF SOFAPAKA AND HIS HERO WORSHIPPER OLE PAREYIO.
Thanks GOD for handing KIMANZI,NYAMWEYA and OLE PAREYIO a humble pie for them to chew and hold on for a moment on their ego-centric approach with regard to monopoly over crucial decision pertaining to our national team.
TOO MUCH PRIDE AND ADO FOR NOTHING FROM THREE ABOVE NAMED MASTER-KILLERS OF YOUNG GENERATION TALENT DUE TO PLAYERS SELECTIVE AMNESIA AND FAVOURISM BASED ON CLUB AFFILIATION.
“MGEMA AKISIFIWA POMBE ULITIA MAJI”
@ 1 OGANGO TRAILER YOU ARE SPOT ON.
“Pride comes before fall”; And as much as the famous chatter-box (Ole Pareyio) in this blog will claim that its the prerogative of the coach to select players single handedly, i can confidently say with “KIMAMZI APPROACH THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE ROAD TO WORLD CUP IN BRAZIL”
Equally the same problem is being experienced with TAIFA STARS of Tanzania and as matter of fact they qualified by a whisker as best losers after being beaten by Zimbabwe.Below is an excerpt from futaa.com script;
“The Kilimanjaro persevered booing from the annoying Yanga fans who were protesting the exclusion of their perceived good players from the national Team for the games opting to support the southerners instead”.
And i ask did KIMANZI opt for the the re-cycled SOFAPAKA cum Ex-Mathare players who are his long time buddies instead of fresh,skilful and young talents that proved themselves locally in the just concluded KPL.
1. Duncan Ochieng is weary ,out dated and un-convincing as number one keeper at the expense of Boniface of Tusker.
2. Mulinge Munandi is just not there if you to look at the just concluded 2011 KPL, why leave Chrispin Olando of tusker or Kitawi and pick WERE who is reserved player at club level.
The list is just endless.
KENYA NEEDS A FOREIGN COACH DEVOID OF LOCAL FOOTBALL POLITICS PERIOD! AND NYAMWEYA SHOULD BETTER STYLE UP SOONER THAN LATTER BEFORE HIS ONE BLUE-EYED BOY IN THE NAME OF DUTCH TRAINED FIFA CLASS TWO QUALIFIED COACH IN THE NAME OF “KIMANZI” BECOMES A NATIONAL DISGRACE JUST LIKE THE CASE OF ZD & RACHIER.
WHAT WE NEED IS A FOREIGN TECHNICAL DIRECTOR,PREFERABLY DUTCH TO HELP US BUILD THE FOUNDATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL YOUTH FEEDER SYSTEM AND THE BASICS OF SOCCER.WE GM AS A CLUB CAN DO THAT AS THE REALITY IS THAT WE NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND START FROM SCRATCH.LOOK AT WHAT AWONO HAS DONE TO THE FRINGE PLAYERS AND HOW CREATIVE OUR GAME IS NOWADAYS.WE NEED THE ACADEMY AT THE MOMENT AS ANY OTHER CLUB WHICH WILL INVEST IN THIS GAMECHANGER IS SURE TO DOMINATE LOCAL FOOTBALL.MIKE OKOTH WARNED THAT WHAT WE NEEDED WAS A TECHNICAL DIRECTOR TO TAKE KENYAN SOCCER TO THE NEXT LEVEL.OUR SOCCER IS PATHETIC AS WE ARE THE ONLY TEAM IN THE REGION WHICH CANNOT STRING 3 PASSES IN A MOVE.AT ONE POINT SUDAN HAD 72% BALL POSSESSION?!!! I MENTIONED HERE THAT OUR LEAGUE IS ONE OF THE WEAKEST IN AFRICA AS OUR TOP SCORER COULD NOT EVEN FIND THE NET IN TZ.CRYONISM-DUNCAN,PASCAL,MULINGE,MULAMA AT THE EXPENSE OF MASIKA HAS BROUGHT US THE SHAME.FOR THREE CECAFA TOURNAMENTS WE HAVE BEEN BOOTED WITHOUT ANY IMPACT,NO NEW PLAYER AND A FURTHER DIP IN OUR CONFIDENCE.EVEN RWANDA,BURUNDI,WARTORN SUDAN AND BANKRUPT ZIMBABWE ARE AHEAD OF US NOW.
With Kimanzi at helm, Kenya is not going popote. Ati Stephen Waruru “Kanja” is our number 9 ? Wacha nicheke. Kenyans were celebrating ati we beat Seychelles. I was trying to calm people down na hawasikii. Anyway I hope Kogalo officials are watching this cup.
We must admit our star midfielder Gatusso looked very ordinary in the CECAFA tourney,I suggest that GM’s EC urgently dispatch AA to TZ to recruit a central defender from sudan,rwanda or zim,2 creative midfielders frm these countries n ethopia n 2 strikers one option being the djiboutian who scored twice against rwanda due to lack of ball skills by our players.
ITS NOW OFFICIAL THAT GM TECHNICAL BENCH IS HEADED FOR A RADICAL SURGERY AND ALL POSITIONS WILL BE ADVERTISED.
My fellow bloggers on 29th Nov 2011 immediately after GM elections result i did post the above info @ post 37 with regard to the dismissal of our goal-keeper trainer Mr.Charles Omoondi “KOREA” due to gross-indiscipline.
But to my surprise the regular and perennial ZD sympathizer namely; pareyio ole lelerue ,Kosero ,Dan and of cause the common villager one Ja ngere were up in arms calling me all sought of names ranging from:
1. SPIN MASTER & A DEADLY GOSSIPER from @ole pareyio
2. RUMOUR MONGER AWARD OF THE YEAR from @ Kosero
3. PERSONAL INFORMATION BEFITTING THE SOURCE from @ Dan
4. GOSSIPER AND TABIA MBAYA from @ Ja Ngere
Below is an excerpt from supersports as officially declared by Sec. Gen George Bwana and i quote below;
“Secretary General George Bwana told SuperSport.com that the newly elected office had decided to advertise for the posts as they prepare for next year’s assignments.
“We held a meeting with the technical bench and agreed that it needs to be revamped. There has been hue and cry over our performances and it needs redress.”
Seen as one of the challengers for the 2011 crown, Gor had an inconsistent season with fans calling for Zedekiah Otieno to resign after a spate of poor results saw them fall off the title race. His assistant Anaba Awono was in charge for the last seven games of the season.
“There were a lot of issues with our bench in the just ended season. Our coach Zedekiah Otieno was on sabbatical, Charles Omondi who is our goalkeeping coach is currently under suspension and we have not had a team manager with the assistant stepping in,” he added.
I hold no grudge against the doubting “Thomases” neither do i have any ill feelings against my colleagues and comrades on this blog whom in many occasions we have differed or held diverse positions during our debates and contributions, nor do i demand any apologies for the “abusive language and words”mentioned above that were used to defend the status quo but i only ask them to prepare for more surprises because in GM “THINGS HAVE CHANGED AND ITS NOW BUSINESS UNUSUAL WITH THE NEW OFFICE” ;The one man show era of the old office is now in GM historical dustbin.
I thank GOD for answering the deadly pretenders and separating the the truth from lies that have been peddled on this blog .
I now wind up by thanking the most noble, reasonable and think-tanks bloggers that have ensured that we held together our truthful and patriotic position as the real KO-GALO followers with words and action devoid of nepotism,tribalism,favoritism and tribalism but based key performance indicators and reasoning from actual result oriented point of view.
I GIVE MY STANDING OVATION TO THE LEAST BUT NOT ALL TO;
1. MWAKIO
2. WUONPAP
3. AGWA KASSAM
4. OKOTH JABILO
5. PUNDIT
6. JA THUR GI JI
7. POD ANTIE
8. ODUOR 12
9. OTI OLUOCH
10.OMOMDIOMOLLO
11. Amongst many others like-minded.

TO PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM IS THE DREAM OF EVERY PLAYER
It is always our great joy and pride to watch our players earn their right of place in the national team. It is no suprise then when our skillful midfielder Collins ‘ Gatusso’ Okoth was in the starting line-up against Sudan during the CECAFA tourney currently underway in Tanzania.
Gatusso’ has been very instrumental in our midfield during the the past KPL season. He is also a nominee for the best midfielder award in the yet to be announced football gala night. The future is lad is therefore looks bright and we can only wish him wel
As I type away this comment, our national team, Harambee stars might be on their way back home after being bundled out of CECAFA tournament. They last to Sudan 1-0. I don’t want to speculate what went wrong. Let me hear from the coach first.
To comrade O. Trailer, it is your right to choose the company you want to keep. Tell me your friend, and i will tell you your character, they day. I am not suprised by the people you have recognized as your buddies. You and your ilk have constantly written very wreckless, biased and sometimes very unsavoury words to this honorable club.
I repeat. We shall remain true and faithful to the ideals of this great club. Our leadership require our unwavering support at this moment in time. And so to our technical bench and the players. No matter our differences of opinions, let us support our club as they prepare to take on the continent giants during the conferderation cup. Please let us avoid this sideshows. We still have unfinished business ahead of us.
I am actually happy that the Stars are back home empty handed like last year. I had said it here last week. Looking at the team which was selected, they did not deserve anything and to progress in this tournament would have been a big fraud. Even what they though was a win against Ethiopia was a sham, rain assissted floppy goals. If you ask me, last year there was some purpose even though they didnt win a match; this year there was totally no purpose at all in the team. Dancun Ochieng at number one? Mugalia and Stephen Waruru, much hyped for nothing. My boys were Kimani and Victor Ochieng but they needed the support of the likes of Olando, the crafty Kevin Omondi, the power of Ken Amwayi, hassler and scorer Mukaisi; Rama Salim. Kimanzi should not think some of us do not know these players, we have been watching the premier league all season and we know.On saturday did I see the reserve bench was all defenders except K Kimani, how did that happen?
@Ja Thur gi ji Thanks for noting that out. And the way they mistreated the former coach thinking that we had a lasting solution to our HS problems. Looks like they are all the same. I wonder why the office is still full of praises for Kimanzi yet ZD was doing the same thing only to be hounded out of office unceremoniously. Maybe we need Hey back, at least he was forthright in what he wanted form the players and the federation, commitment and build-up plan. All this should be a lessonfor us that without any plans then whoever we bring in as a coach we are still headed for failure. I hope that in GM we learn that and start preparing early for next year
