Gor Mahia 2 Muhoroni Youth 0
Gor Mahia beat Muhoroni youth 2-0 in a match played at Afraha stadium on Saturday.
A through ball from David Owino in the 12th minute found Dan Sserunkuma in prime scoring position. The Ugandan international made no mistake, lifting the ball above advancing Muhoroni goalkeeper Gad Omondi for the first goal.
Recent Harambee Stars call up, Musa Mohammed set up the second goal when he crossed to Kevin Omondi who notched the second goal.
In the second half, Gor Mahia continued to attack with Dan Sserunkuma, Kevin Omondi and Edwin Lavatsa all coming close. However Gad Omondi in the Muhoroni goal was in fine form. Rama Salim left the field with an injury in the second half, paving the way for Ivan Anguyo.
The win marked the first time this season that Gor Mahia have scored more than one goal. Fans will be hoping that the team has finally found their scoring boots.
Gor Mahia are now fourth in the league standings with fourteen points from 4 wins, 2 draws and 1loss
A good job deserves appreciation and praise. Well done boys. Well done coach Logarusic, Sir Bobby and the entire Tech. Bench. Well done EC. Well done fans and ALL the branches of Gor Mahia F.C.
Congrats boys, for some reason Nakuru looks to be a happy hunting ground esp when not playing Ulinzi. I missed the game but I bet the fans were entertained. One more game and we are top, with so many games to spare.
My worry is the piling up of injuries by our players. Rama deserves some rest now.
EXCELLENT BOYS!
Congrats to the two goal scorers, Sserunkuma and Kevin Omondi.
I hope the win has now put to rest the doubting Thomasses who included a section of our fans on the technical ability of coach Logarusic. In the absence of Kiongera and injury of Rama, Danny and Kevvo ensured we bagged all the maximum points and safely catapault us to fourth position on the log.
I maintain that if we must move this great club forward, we must be seen to be pushing in one direction. Our roles are distinct and different but our goal is the same. We may differ sometimes on the fielding, formation and controversial decisions of the centre referee, however, we must forge ahead as one indivincible club.
On a light note, i am eagerly waiting to hear what the usual suspects say about today’s win. ‘Mgala muue lakini mpe haki yake’ so goes the Kiswahili saying. Let me hear big hands of applause for coach Logarusic guys! Goodevening.
@Pareiyo you are right we have who believe that Gor should never lose. But fans like you believe that winning and losing are part of the game. The issue is how fast we rise once we are down. Like I have always said PATIENCE is the best gift we can give the TB, EC and players. Afterall they are all human and let nobodt cheat us that they are happy when the lose. All you need is to see how they celebrate a goal or struggle looking for one.
The next game is against Tusker in Top 8. Let’s all be there to support the team and avoid the things that have befallen our shemejis
It’s true that Loga has realized the need to at times alter the formation and move away from the obvious 4-4-2 formation. Again the coach n the tb have realised that all the players are equally up to the task. Congratulations, maintain the wins mighty Kogalo.
I was in nakuru and i can tell u in the 1st half we played well but i dont knw what happened in the second half mufron almost killed us its just by GODs grace we secured the 3 points,so my congrats goes to the team plus the TB for making us atleast happy this wkend and hope the mboyz can improve to play the whole 90mins containing the opponents.
I hambly take this opportunity 2 congratulate the boys 4r the win. But I want 2 urge the TB 2 make the team consistence in winning. Loga did say that he is looking on winning 20 matches and the remaining 10 2 be any results. Now that we’ve only won 4 & rem 16 & yet we’ve lost1 & drawn 2,if we r not consistence will we meet the target. Now the next 2 matches will test our prowess on consistency( TUSKER in top 8 & AFC in lg match). If Loga will pass these tests then he will regain my confidence that had gone
U have said it my Brother
cont@7
My confidence in Loga had gone down when we lost 2 ulinzi & also almost loosing 2 sony who r strugling 2 win lg matches.Tms like muhoroni r always stubbon & we managed 2 beat them then it implies that Loga have changed tackt to play small & stubon tms. Now prove that U r the best & U deserve the 500k that no other coach is earning in the kpl. Prove that we r the champions of top8 & also champions in waiting of the ultimate price(tpl 2013 champions) or else !
Congrats are in order for the entire GM fraternity, beginning with the players, tech bench,EC & fans. Keep the spirit and take us to where we belong. I wonder what mind set some fans have on this blog. Do they think others will mourn when the team wins? Yet bloggers are expected to air opinions coming in form of comments, questions and critism, we are also free to sycophanticaly praise people including loga. I guess ridiculing others and utterly condemning them to hell is also a personal choice. But no K’ogalo fan will frown at good results posted by the team as critisms directed at loga,ec & is meant for improvement and good results that we all yearn for.
some bloggers are always negative about the team and when the team is performing you cant see their opinion in this blog.

coach& technical let the repeat itself (champion)God bless Gor Mahia Amen
I meant let history repeat itself
In June the mid season transfer window will be opened. I hope we will use it to address our problems with the striker position. Having watched most of the KPL teams play, I must admit that There is a derth of talent in the striker and attacking midfielder position in KPL. Andrew Murunga, Hussein Zzinda and Tyron Owino all of Karuturi looks to have some qualities that may interest Gor Mahia. I urge the TB to run some rules over these players. On a lighter note, why did mashemejis sign Masika only to turn around and frustrate. Its a high time Gor tested mashemejis by put in a cheeky bid for him in June. Let’s turn up in large numbers on Wednesday and Sunday to cheer Gor Mahia to victories. The team needs our support and our prayers.
I join fellow bloggers above in congratulating the team, the coach and the technical bench. That was an excellent performace. Our focus now shifts to our match against AFC Leopards this coming Sunday.
After the game against Muhoroni, i still wonder why we are average. We are unable to fully dominate teams. Our fans dominate the stands but on the field we are average. We need to be ruthless. When will we hit someone 8-0?
All the same, it’s good to see Loga at least playing Musa and Owino in defence. I love these two boys. They have unmatched energy that can only help the team. The other players down in confidence are Yusuf Juma who is a former national team player and Moses Otieno. Please TB try and help restore these fading talents.
Finally, congratulations to Loga and Team for the win. Keep it up and maintain what is currently the best start in a long time.
Walter we have Tusker to play on wednesday, just a reminder
creative village@14….i agree with you that certain players be given the chance. However, for me am afraid that Yusuf and Moses Otieno have not proved themselves when given the chance.Good players they may be but unfortunetly they haven’t met the grade so far compared to the players they are competing with in that position!!
Hearty congratulations to the boys for the win from the great plains of KANSAS.
Kogalo for Ever!!
Hey good people. Have you noticed that the assists to both goals against Muhoroni came from defenders? Can someone smell a new game plan from The Log? Let us hope it is. Interesting too is that the providers of the two goals are those whom the coach has been overlooking. Are they telling the coach to take a second look at them?
Has Loga become good again after the weekend win? A few days ago we ‘rubbished’ him on this blog. Only a few like @Pareiyo asked for our understanding and patience.
From the look of things if we get our act together early enough we might do a Bayern/ManU and win the league with several games to spare.
All we need is to give encouragement to the team even during some ‘unfortunate’ loses or draws.
Where’s @Mwakio and @Kisero? We need their wise counsel during this ‘heavy’ week. The outcome of the two games this week will determine how the rest of the season might go for us
Who is going to bring back those glory days. The days when we would religiously attend training sessions behind our parents/guardians back At either the City Stadium, Jamhuri H. School or even at Pumwani H. School just to watch Gor Mahia train!!!! The preparations preceding a derby match would be a lot different in terms of location and access to the players. Only a few well known personalities would be allowed to occasionally visit the “secret” training base to “chat” with the players but no shaking of hands. This rule would be imposed for the whole duration of training before the big match. The team would then depart for an unknown location where they would camp for a minimum of two Days only to resurface on the match day. Such precautions were taken to avoid any meetings taking place between the players and any suspicious person(s) from the other camp. These were the days when a week to the derby date, every pavements, estates and street corners of Nairobi would be occupied by Mashemejis talking about their respective beloved football teams. The offices were never left far off in the discussions on the forthcoming derby match. Staff would spend endless hours glued to the newspapers whispering in groups at the expense of work. Government offices and Parastatals. Suffered greatly as they had the largest number of employees from these two Mad football lovers. Story is told of one Apingo Nywawa who would drive the KBL bus full of KBL supporters to the stadium whenever KOgalo was playing KBL. He would abandon it at the stadium and proceed to sit with Kogalo fans. He was a true follower of Kogalo, RIP Nyawawa. Bring back those days when you could easily classify the categories of the fans attending a football match into:- the die-hards, the moderate and the recent converts (Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea supporters). These were the days when the Daily Nation and the EA Standards would do a proper profiling of the teams (coaches, players, the Back room staff and the imaginary magician- Every team had one, Ochido for Gor Mahia and Marolla for AFC) Leopards. Their publications on the day of the match would have a pullout on the histories of the two clubs. In the pubs And entertainment joints, friends supporting either team would suspend hanging out together until after the derby match. As the day of the derby moved closer, relationships would become more tense and fragile for those who had married across the divide. Marriages, friendships and relationships were suspended until after the derby. The days when Ochido Kamukunji despite his ageing limbs would sprint across the field like lightning to attend to an injured Gor Mahia player. I vividly remember one of those Derby matches when I had led a group of six of us into Nyayo National Stadium As ball boys. As I went to retrieve a ball that had gone out I had someone shout at me “toto leta mpira hapa x2” As I raised my I realised it was Ochido beckoning me. I duly kicked the ball to him and he proceeded to strike the ball with some stick mumbling incoherently. When play resumed, it took only Two minutes for Gor Mahia to score the only goal of the match. I long for such days when the tension in a derby match was so palpable, you could touch it, even Among fans. Those days when we could draw a parallel line up of my beloved Kogalo replete with substitutes. Till tomorrow people.
